In the 1985 it was just a straight plug-in. In the 86 from the wiring harness the plug was different. I went to MB and ordered another plug. These plugs can be opened up the wires can be repositioned. Besides Bosch and Hella there are cheaper units out there from Asia. The quality is not the same. For the Bosch and Hella units you can buy separately the front glass and the reflectors but in Europe only. Bosch and Hella front glasses not interchangeable - understand the seal is different. For bulbs you may want to consider the Philips H4 GT150 power2night. In the European MB models you can adjust the reach of the headlight beam. Next to the light switch you have a little wheel you turn - works with vacuum. Most of the Bosch and Hella headlights have this feature. I'm using the IPF H4 bulbs, excellent. I should be able to replace this lens, they are bosch... the housing has a tab broken off, ended up using a tie-wrap to secure the trim piece. :( I could have fabricated a mount for the wipers, but it looks a lot cleaner this way... thanx for the info on lens and bulbs! very handy, will save this. john On Mon, 17 Oct 2005, wmpless wrote: >-->Have in my W201 Euro lights without the wipers.
