Actually, my daughter has been thinking about getting a Jeep to replace her '94 Cavalier. IMHO, ANYTHING, short of a Ford, would be preferable! I wouldn't mind seeing a Jeep in the drive. There have only been two cars that I've owned, or had parked in the driveway, that I truly hated. That junker Cavalier is one and an '84 Ford Tempo was the other. The Ford, at least, had some semblence of engineering forethought. Unfortunately, the actual implementation got lost after the department made happy hour at the local bar and grill... That Cavalier, on the other hand, appears to be lacking any actual engineering thought process. Remember the go-carts we made when we were kids? We'd gather up some wood from a local construction site, find Pop's hammer and his bag of nails, and proceed to build push cart. What to use for wheels when none were available? Those old rollerskates worked just fine. How to steer it? Mount the front skates on a 2x4 and use our feet. That appears to be what GM did. They went up to the parts counter and gathered up whatever would appear to work..... Don't get me started.... Yes. A jeep wouldn't look bad in the drive next to "Bruno". If it sounded like "Bruno", I might even drive it! ;-) OK, so you're now Benz-less. I think we heard the chorus, so the next verse will be coming shortly. After you've sufficiently lamented the departure of your latest Benz, you'll start pining for another one. Please tell us you won't be considering a W140, W210 or, shudder, a C-Class. Take care, Jon '95 E300D "Ernestine" One klatta klatta, two klatta klatta...
