I'm sure a tool like that wouldn't be a problem for them seeing as how they are not windows based. ;) they do have a search tool on the site, and you can set up an account for ads, so adding one more tool like that would be right in line with what they're about. john ---- - ------------------------------------------------------------------------- ** http://JohnMeister.com **** http://wagoneers.com ** Snohomish, Washington USA - where Jeeps don't rust, they mold ** http://freegift.net *** http://greatcom.org/laws/languages.html ** - ------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 2 Feb 2006 11:02:03 -0800 (PST) From: john Subject: [db] more Diesel dreams... talked with a guy in the bay area about a Turbo Diesel XJ on craigslist... it's got the 5 speed... won't work for me... that and a 21 year old XJ would need more attention than I want to give it. :) When I suggested it to my wife I got a very clear answer. :) besides, I'm thoroughly enjoying my '91 300D... These things were NOT fast ;) oh come on... they weren't that bad... 0 to 60 in 19 seconds stock, and that was before and after I put the winch on it. ;) It was faster than my '81 300D w/ no turbo. Shadowfax is incredibly fast compared to almost every Diesel I've ever owned, and is faster than some of my V8 powered Jeeps even! Old Blue did 0 to 60 in about 15 seconds... my '67 Wag with the 327 about 12 seconds... I think the specs put shadowfax around 12 seconds... as fast or faster than those coffee can ricer noisemakers... john ---- - ------------------------------------------------------------------------- ** http://JohnMeister.com **** http://wagoneers.com ** Snohomish, Washington USA - where Jeeps don't rust, they mold ** http://freegift.net *** http://greatcom.org/laws/languages.html ** - ------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 2 Feb 2006 21:52:33 -0800 (PST) From: john Subject: Re: [db] Re: Craigslist.com > On Thu, 2 Feb 2006, Noel Higa wrote: > Try this: http://www.crxsearch.com/forums/ > Noel thanx. this looks promising, will try it later, going to share it with the lists... a search tool for craigslist! Then you had a sick 300D. They're supposed to do 0-62 (well, 100 clicks) in 19.5. I doublechecked the spec before test driving my brother's current 78 300D. FWIW, His was down around 240D four speed times when he got it. One injector was nailing so bad I almost felt bad driving it. We won't talk about how far out of adjustment the valves were, either. :) I actually am growing to like his car - it looks like it's lived outside all its years and is a bit worse for the wear, but it starts, runs, and unlike a lot of gassers, is completely content cruising with the pedal held to the wood for hours on end (going 85+), and when looking at the fuel mileage, it gets around 25 on the highway driving it like that. They may not have gobs of available power, but it really feels like the engineers wanted you to take as much power as the engines would give. With lots of full pedal, performance was within reason (well, much more so with the turbo and the 5th cylinder), and the engines stayed happier over time. And cruising flat out never gave the slightest impression that anything was getting tired or overworked.
