It runs on kerosene now so veggie isn't that far off. Shoulda got the TDI beetle so the motors could share fuel. I want the scooter. Has anyone ever > -->been through that process before? yes. give me a call during the day tomorrow and I'll fill you in on the details... they've changed the rules a bit on what you can deduct, but the process remains the same... I donated one to World Vision here in Seattle, they advertize on KZOK. They were very helpful in towing the car off, it didn't run... I suspect they went backwards on the deal... I think your deduction will be what they sell it for... check irs's website for details... How's she like the liberty? does she want to swap the engine? Be happy to install a freshly rebuild 4.0 that will really work nice in that thing... :) john > --> > --> > -->-- > -->--chuck goolsbee > -->02 Jetta TDi > -->arlington, wa, usa > --> > --> ---- - ------------------------------------------------------------------------- ** http://JohnMeister.com **** http://wagoneers.com ** Snohomish, Washington USA - where Jeeps don't rust, they mold ** http://freegift.net *** http://greatcom.org/laws/languages.html ** - ------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 23 Jun 2006 06:39:52 -0700 From: Greg Fiorentino Subject: Re: [db] Re-engineering German cars - a new hybrid chuck goolsbee wrote: At 1:28 PM -0500 6/22/06, Allen Zylstra wrote: I want the scooter. Yes, I've done it a few times. It used to be that you could take a deduction of the book value of the car. They've changed the tax law a year or two ago. These days they limit you to what the charity is able to sell it for. CD Manuals? W123 1981 240D Manual transmission My car has three "levers" at the bottom of the shifter column. All three have flat steel clips (which I have no idea how to remove w/o hurting them), and most of them have rubber. I need fresh rubber for these, and ideas on other related parts that should be replaces while the car is up on blocks and I have eye protection on. 1) Where is a good place to order these from w/o paying two awfully much for shipping, etc. 2) Can I get some feedback on CD manuals? I can recall 2001 messages from folks deriding the lack of and index and the quality of images available on the MB CDs. I've found this, which looks different: http://www.manualsunlimited.com/product_info.php?cPath=46_70_135&products_id=11839 but I'm not sure. I have a Chiltons, and it is not great... Is the MB service manual available in print? 3) In the mean time, would someone please explain how to pop off the clips on the bottom of the manual shift lever? I need to get new rubber in there ASAP. Thank you for all the help with the hood spring pocket drains!!!! I'm still getting crud out of the pockets. jc 1981 240d MT unknown miles, rescued from hunting duty! ------------------------------ End of diesel-benz-digest V1 #2174 **********************************
