If you know that pick up, you know that there is usually enough room under the hood to get in there with the engine to work on it, but with the boat engine in there, if you dropped a wrench down into the works, the chance of its coming out the bottom was pretty slim. The engine was HUGE, and when I saw the rig he hadn't quite figured out to get the tranny working in the thing, so it was a 1-speed, and went about 35 mph. However, when started up, it sounded like a D8 Cat, through his hand crafted 5 inch exhaust. Always wondered what became of that thing... bk ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 31 Jul 2006 09:31:24 -0700 From: Jack Tavares Subject: [db] TaTa all I am signing off the list. Hi all. I'm the friend who bought the car. In addition to a few extra air filters, manuals and other cool stuff, jack was kind enough to throw in a List. Unlike jack, I'm likely to be more of a Visa mechanic than a hands-on tinkerer, but everyone tells me y'all are Da Bomb, so I'll lurk until I need to ask a stupid question. Even if you won't be doing much of the work on your 300D, you can get enough information from this list to keep your mechanic "honest". A little knowledge can save you big bucks! And, there is no such thing as a stupid question around here. Well, maybe... Like when John asks whether he should sell his MB... or when John asks about putting a 240D engine in his Jeep... or when John.... Well, you get my drift. [Sorry, John. I couldn't resist it... ;-) ] Again, welcome to the gang!
