I have a treo 650, use pssh (secure shell) to ssh to my Linux server... it's a little awkward, but usable. I could also use the included VersaMail utility. I have the 5M/month data plan so I don't use it very much. Just for quick access. I also have (but didn't use this time) a Verizon V620 broadband card that I use, it's around $59.99/mo, gives a wide variety of performance, but is useable and acceptable. It's very handy. Has worked in every hotel and my mother-in-law's house. :) I'm in Bozeman, MT right now... just after midnight... john On Tue, 1 Aug 2006, Jim Hoffman wrote: >-->I know I tried to get this info out of you before and it was like >-->pulling teeth! ;) What electronic setup do you have that >-->allows you to access the Internet from a rest stop? Went to an automotive a/c repair facility for an repair estimate. After they checked the pressure in the system it was determined that the clutch in the compressor was defective. The mechanic seemed be knowledgable on a/c in general but did not know Mercedes cars. Looked thru the repairs the previous owner encountered and noticed repairs never involved the compressor. Wondering whether anybody ever encountered compressor problems. Any point to buy a used compressor? Thanks in advance for some advice/info. The problem with the first rebuilt was that the clutch failed after a year or so. I'm not sure you can buy a new compressor. Seems compressors are not as durable as I hoped they would be. Saw a rebuilt one advertised for US$ 354.00 and don't even want to know what a new one would cost. Therefore I would like to the climate control unit located in the dash. Removed the 2 screws in centre vent and the 2 located underneath the ash tray. Console is lose but unable to remove it. Top stuck underneath the dash and also unable to remove at the bottom. Have the radio out but unable to reach climate control unit from the back. Centre vent frame in the dash does not come without messing with the switches. There is also a screw behind the left switch. Wondering whether anybody has removed the console recently and is able to give some advice.
