My brother is in Waterloo, but doesn't know any shops down here. Good news, I have a friend coming from GA with a CUMMINS DIESEL and flatbed trailer. Answer to prayers. I think the 4.3l lost the oil pump and spun a rod bearing. It is knocking bad. I am going to have to research a diesel swap. Cummins 4bt or an isuzu? I don't think a MB would have the power. (had the midterm saturday...) got the parts I needed out of the '47 willys, it's ready to go now: http://wagoneers.com/JEEPS/47-CJ-2A/ yeah, that's rust... we think that this thing, besides sitting for 20 years, also sat at the bottom of a pond or a flood plain... we found water in places that don't normally have water... :) but overall it'll be a great project for someone... my friend and I pulled the front clip off the '48 CJ-2A, ready for the flathead: http://wagoneers.com/Willys/48-CJ-2A/9-Oct-2006/ http://wagoneers.com/Willys/48-CJ-2A/9-Oct-2006/ALL.html http://wagoneers.com/Willys/48-CJ-2A still haven't fixed the door stop on my '99 WJ. :) but it's running great, really love that 4.7L V8... perfect driveline for an FSJ if you don't want a Diesel. :) waiting for my '91 Grand Wagoneer to get the 6.2 Diesel installed so I can give serious thought to parting with the '91 300D. The Benz running great, but the stop and go traffic lights on my short commute are killing my economy, "only" getting 26 to 28 lately... of course that's still better than the EPA rating... but with the GW I'll be running WVO after I get the heaters in place and won't care... my son is buying a friends XJ, so it'll be showing up later this week too... I'm hoping the '47 disappears before the XJ shows up... ---- 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo 4.7L V8/45RFE/NV 247 (Quadradrive) 1991 Jeep Grand Wagoneer was 5.9/727/np229 --> 6.2L/700R4/NP 219 or NP 208... driveline in work... 1948 Willys CJ-2A 2.0L/T90/Spicer 18 --> getting an original flathead!!! 1975 Jeep J10 Bed/trailer hydraulic dump 1983 Jeep J10 Stepside was 4.2L I-6/T-5/NP208 --> 4.0 or repl 4.2, or ??? 1991 Mercedes 300D 2.5L Turbo Diesel/AT (for sale after GW complete) 1947 Willys CJ-2A 2.0L/T90/Spicer 18 (for sale ... now) - ------------------------------------------------------------------------- ** http://JohnMeister.com **** http://wagoneers.com ** Snohomish, Washington USA - where Jeeps don't rust, they mold ** http://freegift.net *** http://greatcom.org/laws/languages.html ** - ------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------ End of diesel-benz-digest V1 #2262 **********************************
