(stranded in IA) It is a Fram on the ZJ. I will have to replace it even though I have never had any problems with them before. The van had an AC Delco filter installed by the dealer. Not the cause of the problem either. It appears that the crank was pushed forward and the thrust bearing was damaged when the transmission failed a few months ago. The oil pump is worn, but not to the point of failure. Reman crank kit on its way along with a new oil pump, timing set, and waterpump while it is out. Still had oil pressure off idle. Usually an oil change meant that I had to add a couple of quarts and change the filter every 4 months. I will probably get a wix from NAPA. I am getting away from doing my own oil though. There is a really nice website out there where somebody has cut up a bunch of filters to determine construction and materials quality. Does anyone have this link handy, I can't find it right now?
