I have to carry a permit just to have a camera on my phone... actually taking a picture requires managment approval, and to release photos from the factory requires special dispensation from the public relations office... Since I like working here we'll have to live with photos I take from OUTSIDE the fence. :) Or with pictures I can buy at the gift shop. :) that 777 engine is massive... it's amazing... I hadn't walked by one in the factory before because I quit before they started building them.... beautiful looking... you know they're going to re-engine the 747 with the 787 engines, and those are going to be more powerful than the 777. Check out Rolls Royce sites for details... Any info I share is going to come from a public website... I've got a poster from Rolls Royce on that engine, will see what it says. The RR rep used to have his office next to my lab, nice guy, has a Jeep. ;) Hey, speaking of things Diesel... found a couple of 300 Gallon heating oil tanks... the guy wants about $150 each for them. He's also got an old oil furnace, two of 'em... around the same price. He's up in the San Juans but will bring 'em down and meet us in Anacortes. The tank I'm thinking about getting is 8 feet long and four feet round... hmmm... would fit in my trailer... 250 gallons, plus the 15 gallon saddle tank, the 40 gallons in my other two tanks... 20 mpg... that would give my J10 a range of about ... oh this can't be right... 6,100 miles??? 305 gallons times 20 is this right??? yep... weird. and just think, if I got the Banks kit for the 6.2L I could bump that up about 20% to about 24 mpg... or 7,320 miles... rofl... ok, so I'd loose a few mpg towing that much weight... about 3,500lbs trailer and fuel... that's not that much, so I'd only get 22mpg... ;) let's see, round trip to NY from Seattle is about 5,718... :) , ok, then I could drive down to LA... and then have to tank up. john On Thu, 7 Dec 2006, chuck goolsbee wrote: > -->> http://www.komotv.com/news/local/4847251.html > -->> > -->>I can't get the video to play... > --> > -->Worked on my Mac. > --> > --> > -->>but I was there... walking > -->>into this event had to go past a 777 that was being assembled, > -->>man, those engines are massive... this stuff is way cool. > --> > -->On eof these: > -->http://chuck.goolsbee.org/archives/84 > --> > --> > --> > --> > -->>I manage a lab that is used to integrate cad s/w for the new bird... > --> > -->Awesome. > --> > --> > -->-- > -->--chuck goolsbee > -->02 Jetta TDi & 06 Liberty CRD > -->arlington, wa, usa > --> > --> ----- - ------------------------------------------------------------------------- ** http://freegift.com **** http://wagoneers.com ** Snohomish, Washington -o|||||o- where Jeeps don't rust, they mold - ------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 8 Dec 2006 16:46:18 -0800 From: "Roger Shoaf" Subject: Re: [db] door suddenly doesn't work with key - ----- Original Message ----- From: "John Harrison" To: "diesel-benz list" Sent: Tuesday, December 05, 2006 5:30 AM Subject: [db] door suddenly doesn't work with key > Suddenly, on a nice warm day, my key will no longer turn the lock on my > driver's side door.
