I for one will probably try it in my minivan. One thing that I have to ask is why everyone is so determined that it will destroy the rubber parts in stuff. Gasoline will do the same thing.....to rubber not meant to withstand it. The rubber in the fuel systems of cars is designed to be solvent resistant, so why do you think that it would be destroyed by a tiny bit of acetone? The good news is that I have finally gotten the insurance co. to pay an almost reasonable total loss on the vehicle. The bad news is that these cars are getting tough to find in reasonable condition. We were thinking about a 240D offered for sale by a coworker of the wife. We were supposed to look at it today, but the owner reported that his parents had left the windows open and that the interior has been severely attacked by mold. They are considering giving it to us gratis. Has anyone had any experience de-molding the interior of a car? One would think this is not such a rare occurrence here in the PNW. Is there a source of commercial de-molding out there? What ball-park costs can I expect? TIA for any feedback.
