When you say you're "on the list", what does that mean? I have signed up on their website and get updates as there is news but have not actually put any money down on one. I will if they bring the diesel version into the US. Actually I want the diesel version of the Smart forFour. I can get it back before I buy if I'm not happy once I get a chance to drive them, although with no interest. I thought the forFour was killed. With their struggle to make money, I thought they only redesigned the forTwo, and they won't be redesigning the forFour or the roadster, but maybe that was just for the US market. I agree that I would love to have one with a diesel. Don't they use a little turbodiesel? I'd even prefer to have the turbo gas engine over the non turbo, but it'll probably be another year or so before we get that. My current coupe is quickly approaching the point again where it wants me to show it some love. I'll soon either have to sink another good chunk of change into her, or consider replacements. The smart may just be in the right timeframe to work for me, although I will probably keep the coupe. Worth more to me than it probably is to most other people. I will certainly update the list on my impressions of the little beasties when I finally get to drive one. I've been looking at autotrader for the KJ Diesels, they want mid-20's for those things... Have been really tempted to get this '00 ML320, it's a beautiful vehicle and in perfect condition... I drive my 300D way harder and get 10mpg more...
