I think with fuel prices the way they are my wife may use the 300D and we'll leave the WJ parked most of the time... my cj-2a is almost done... installed the radiator and hoses last night, need to find all the parts to finish assembling it... :) maybe this weekend... we'll see... homework now. john ----- - ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Snohomish, Washington -o|||||o- where Jeeps don't rust, they mold http://freegift.com ** http://wagoneers.com ** - ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 11 May 2007 05:34:04 -0700 (PDT) From: Jim Hoffman Subject: Re: [db] updated Omega 6.2L Diesel pictures Now THAT looks pretty! I've done a number of swaps over the years... I've learned to look for the "gotchas". the only remaining issues after this swap is done will be figuring out where to mount the fuel heater stuff. :) it's going to be a bit cozy under that hood... with the 3" body lift I may build a heater tank that sits on the frame rail between the body... we'll see... I'm thinking that keeping Shadowfax isn't a bad idea... my wife can use it for running errands with her WJ possibly as a backup for both of us... really like all the vehicles... but we'll see... time will tell if this will all work out... '99 WJ, '91 GW, ??? '91 300D, and ???? '48 Cj-2A, '83 J10 stepside and /or '75 J10 dump trailer... It's hard to decide when half of the fleet is "almost" done, but not running. :) so close on the cj and the gw... the j10 could happen pretty quick since I've decided to put it back to stock rather than customize it. it'll only have a weber carb and sunroof, and GW seats, otherwise it'll be stock... should I keep it the original color too???? thoughts? If the '91 GW works out as expected and is reliable, then I won't need the 300D, or the WJ... provided of course that the GW works out well for long trips then the WJ is the odd man out... nice rig, but at 14 to 15 mpg in town vs. 28 to 30 mpg, I think my spouse will drive the 300d, even though she claims she doesn't fit in it... could be the way I have the seat adjusted though... she is taller than me. ;) what gets more complex is my son gets out of the air force in Feb '08 and will be coming home to go to school with my old Jimmy and his '74 Javelin with a 460 Ford/C6. oh, that all should have such "troubles". :) so close to finishing my masters degree, the cj, the gw and maybe the j10... oh yeah, and all the garden and yard projects too. john >--> >-->--- john wrote: >--> >-->> these just in... :) >-->> >-->> http://wagoneers.com/tmp/Omega2/ALL.html >-->> http://wagoneers.com/tmp/Omega/ALL.html >-->> >-->> hit a slight snag with the trans adapter, we got the >-->> wrong >-->> parts... correct parts on the way... slight >-->> delay... was >-->> supposed to be done on the 14th... >-->> >-->> going to use the brushguard from SuperDawg (lights >-->> already mounted) >-->> and the killer32 nerf bars... aux tank... when it >-->> comes >-->> back up here I'll be working on the fuel heater >-->> setup to run veggie oil. :) >-->> >-->> once I get Omega dialed in I'll give some thought to >-->> parting with Shadowfax... >-->> I think with fuel prices the way they are my wife >-->> may use the 300D and >-->> we'll leave the WJ parked most of the time... >-->> >-->> my cj-2a is almost done... installed the radiator >-->> and hoses last night, >-->> need to find all the parts to finish assembling >-->> it... :) maybe this weekend... we'll see... >-->> >-->> homework now. >-->> >-->> john >--> ----- - ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Snohomish, Washington -o|||||o- where Jeeps don't rust, they mold http://freegift.com ** http://wagoneers.com ** - ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------ End of diesel-benz-digest V1 #2455 **********************************
