I need to do the math, but I'm wondering if the 6.2L will be happy with bigger tires... I have two excellent sets of 235s and one not so wonderful set... thinking with the 3" body lift that 31's would look really nice... like I said, will have to do the math... still waiting for the Novak adapter people to get the 700r4 to Jeep xfr case all sorted out... within a week or so of getting my jeep back... was supposed to be done 4 May... but parts snafu delayed it... 5 days on the clock after the parts come in. ;) john ----- - ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Snohomish, Washington -o|||||o- where Jeeps don't rust, they mold http://freegift.com ** http://wagoneers.com ** - ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 4 Jun 2007 21:39:59 -0700 (PDT) From: john Subject: RE: [db] question on gearing, tire size (and color) 6.2 Diesel 130 hp-at-3,600 240 ftlb-at-2,000 sweet spot would be 2k from these numbers. http://wagoneers.com/FSJ/tech/fsjgears.html with the numbers below this thing would be idling at cruising speed, which is good... it should have the torque to sustain speed on the freeway, with the lower rpm it'll be quite happy, downshift to get the speed up... the GW has the aerodynamics of a brick though... :) 31's are usually about 30.8 or so... considering getting the same tires I have on my WJ, Bridgestone Revo AT's, holding up quite nicely, good traction in all conditions, quiet, nice ride... http://wagoneers.com/fotos/2007/05-May-15-birds-n-dreamlifter/bridgestone-revo-at.jpg I'm also thinking I'll have the GW repainted... retain the stock white, or, the same color as my WJ, see: http://wagoneers.com/JEEPS/tonkas-emblems-paint/ALL.html Light Sand metallic: http://wagonmasters.com/1269/1269gw.htm http://wagonmasters.com/1249/1249gw.htm Ivory Creme: http://wagonmasters.com/1274/1274gw.htm or Medium Bronze: http://wagonmasters.com/1267/1267gw.htm maybe enen something a little darker, the white is just a bit too much for me... that is when the Willys sells... 1140 viewing so far, two days left... hope this is my lottery ticket... :) http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1948-CJ-2A-new-paint-and-top-rebuilt-T90_W0QQitemZ160122865640QQihZ006QQcategoryZ6470QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem item 160122865640 thanx, john ----- - ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Snohomish, Washington -o|||||o- where Jeeps don't rust, they mold http://freegift.com ** http://wagoneers.com ** - ---------------------------------------------------------------------- On Mon, 4 Jun 2007, FreddyP wrote: # Hi John, # # Glad to hear the project is coming along!
