I'm having trouble with my digital camera :( It's a 1999 RAM Quad Cab 4X4 with matching cap. It has a gooseneck hitch (although I don't have anything to pull) I LOVE this Cummins engine. I liked my IDI Turbo but this thing is a little nicer. The inline six gets me about 19mpg all-around driving and "should" get me about 22mpg on the highway. Depending on how much I put my foot into it ;) So, as I mentioned in Kevin's post (which I forgot to switch to the whole list) in a couple of years I plan on looking for a 2000-2004 Ford F-350 extended cab dually with a blown Powerchoke and swapping in a Cummins! :) Jim - --- john wrote: > someone got a new toy... ya gonna tells us all about > it? > any pictures? :) > > john > > ----- > - ---------------------------------------------------------------------- > Snohomish, Washington -o|||||o- where Jeeps don't > rust, they mold > http://freegift.com ** > http://wagoneers.com ** > - ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 20 Jun 2007 15:05:27 -0700 From: Kevin Subject: Re: [db] someone got a new toy... ;) That being the case, check out: http://www.dieselpowermag.com/features/ford/0704dp_2006_ford_f550_cummins/index.html and start drooling :) 99 is one of the years of the dread '53' block in dodges. Hopefully you knew this before you bought one, and made sure you didn't have it ;) Stick or automatic? There were some of these trucks with 3.55s, and those will get you the best mileage. 3.73s means you are turning 2000 to go 70, and IIRC, some of those trucks had 4.10s. The cummins is pretty sweet. My 05 is far thirstier than I like, and the power band is ridiculously narrow compared to the other two diesel trucks I have, but it gets the job done fine.
