A car for SWMBO! Yeah, well, sometimes I get a little overzealous and underestimate the magnitude of projects. As for SWMBO, I thought I made it pretty clear that I would drive it myself for awhile to get the bugs worked out. I know better than to give a car that's being fiddled with to her. (We all know where that can end up.) Jason - ---------Previous------- Jason, you're right; if that's where you're coming from, it certainly wasn't clear by the way you were objecting about people pointing out potential issues to you. if you're looking at taking on fixing up these things on as a challenge, i can understand that. however, when you point out one of these neglected vehicles as being "A car for SWMBO", i have to think you either don't like SWMBO very much, or you're into challenges that i've learned to stay away from! ;-) cheers! e ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 20 Jun 2007 20:25:54 -0700 (PDT) From: john Subject: RE: [db] someone got a new toy... ;) http://wagoneers.com/tmp/fred411D1255.jpg http://wagoneers.com/tmp/fred411D1255_2.jpg ----- - ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Snohomish, Washington -o|||||o- where Jeeps don't rust, they mold http://freegift.com ** http://wagoneers.com ** - ---------------------------------------------------------------------- On Wed, 20 Jun 2007, FreddyP wrote: # # Here are a few pics - # # I'll be out for a couple of hours, but I'll catch up with you tomorrow and # give you more info. The driver's cab was completely submerged and troopers said the driver, 35-year-old Sekhan Kuldip, of Surrey, British Columbia, died at the scene. http://www.komoradio.com/news/local/8068922.html By KOMO Staff INDEX, Wash. -- The driver of a semi truck was killed late Monday when the truck he was driving lost control along U.S. 2 and crashed into the Skykomish River. Trooper Kirk Rudeen with the Washington State Patrol says the truck was heading west from Stevens Pass when it went over a jersey barrier, clipped a tree, then rolled down a 150- to 200-foot embankment and into the Skykomish River. The driver's cab was completely submerged and troopers said the driver, 35-year-old Sekhan Kuldip, of Surrey, British Columbia, died at the scene. Crews spent Tuesday morning pulling the truck cab out of the river, but are still working to remove parts of the trailer and tons of apples it was carrying. ----- - ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Snohomish, Washington -o|||||o- where Jeeps don't rust, they mold http://freegift.com ** http://wagoneers.com ** - ---------------------------------------------------------------------- On Tue, 19 Jun 2007, Jim Blair wrote: # I saw and heard nothing about the driver being from BC? # # _________________________________________________________________ # Get a preview of Live Earth, the hottest event this summer - only on MSN # http://liveearth.msn.com?source=msntaglineliveearthhm # ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 21 Jun 2007 05:52:58 -0700 (PDT) From: Jim Hoffman Subject: Re: [db] someone got a new toy... ;) VERY nice! More troubles for the enviro-whackos! http://blogs.dieselpowermag.com/6205554/whats-new/ford-recalls-37000- 2008-super-duties/index.html This is too funny! Every time these emissions people get involved, they mess stuff up, from the hybrids that would quit for no reason due to bad software and this flaming tailpipe, all the way back to the "trap oxidizers" that plugged up the tailpipes on the 80's MB diesels in California. Actually, these flamers are a reincarnation of that concept. When will these people give up? Reminds me, there's a great global warming thing from Neal Boortz again. It follows. - -----Commence Boortzland-------- YOUR FRIENDLY GLOBAL WARMING UPDATE! Global warming fanatics, you're going to absolutely LOVE this story First .. here's a column from Bill Steigerwald of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review. Steigerwald writes about Anthony Watts of Chico, California. Watts is a former TV meteorologist. Watts did what Al Gore (or our lovely Belinda, for that matter) never did ... he started searching out and looking at some of the 1,221 weather stations that the federal government uses to gather data on temperatures. That data, of course, is then used to tell us of the threat of global warming! Government standards say that these temperature measuring stations should be 100 feet from buildings, not on a hot concrete service, and so forth. Well, it would seem that these regulations aren't exactly being adhered to. Believe it or not, Steigerwald and his followers have found temperature measuring stations sitting right next to barrels where trash is burned. Some are sitting directly in front of air conditioning vents. Others are located near the tarmac on parking lots and at airports. Still others are found surrounded by high buildings. Believe it or not, he even found one official temperature measuring station sitting directly behind an airport ramp where it can be routinely subject to jet blast! Just what do you think the locations of these official government temperature measuring stations might mean to all of these temperature measurements that are being used by OwlGore and others to convince us of global warming! Now for the fun. Pictures! Watts has a website where he's detailing his findings. The site has been so slammed lately that he has had to go in search of a new server. The address is http://www.surfacestations.org. Give it a try .. if he still doesn't have a new server up and running you can get some rather amazing pictures, along with accompanying graphs, on his blog. Here's your link. Are you starting to get the feeling that we're being had here? Sure seems that way. I wonder what the motivation is? One thing for sure, the more leftist you are, the more likely you are to go along with this man-made global warming nonsense. The more anti-capitalist you are, the more likely you are to be worshiping at the altar of the OwlGore. Noodle it out, my friends. Connect some dots when you get the chance. ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 21 Jun 2007 16:28:38 -0500 From: "Allen Zylstra" Subject: RE: [db] F-350 IDI Turbo Diesel - Was: Oh my!
