I know that the FSJ will ride better... have a nicer feel... and of course there is superdawg... still in pieces, a replacement engine sitting in my carport for over a year now... things move slowly... too slowly... spring 2001... was to be ready by labor day... 2001... but then again I can't afford to just go out and buy something nice... arghhh... any point to this email? I can't think of any... :) delete. delete. delete. ;) (ok, so it's friday and I really don't feel like working on a windows 2003 server... it's waiting for me across the room... ;) down two jeeps in snohomish... ----- - ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Snohomish, Washington -o|||||o- where Jeeps don't rust, they mold http://freegift.com ** http://wagoneers.com ** - ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 20 Jul 2007 16:35:22 -0700 (PDT) From: john Subject: [db] local driver wanted... :) ok, might need some help this weekend... or in a few weeks... someone gave me an '89 Grand Wagoneer... supposedly it runs... but I'm going to retrieve it with a tow bar in the back of the Jeep... or maybe I'll run over with a car trailer and not live on the edge. ;) it's over on whidbey island... 11 miles to the ferry... my house is about 12 miles from the ferry on this side... (Mukilteo Ferry) http://wagoneers.com/tmp/89_Grand_Wag.jpg anyone up to a relatively short, and hopefully mild adventure? airfare, accomodations and meals not included... :) they'll send more pictures later, if it's presentable I'll drag it home very soon, if not will wait until my in-laws go back to South Dakota first week of August... (they're coming for a week...) Don't want to stress my lovely bride with a YAP. (yet another project) The gal was overwhelmed by the response, but became very concerned because people were expecting more than what it might be. I told the gal that it's gone. It won't come back to her house and will leave mine running or in pieces, either way, it won't be her problem ever again. :) I'll probably fix it and find it a good home and use the profits to either improve Omega, buy an XJ or get the aux fuel setup for my '91 300D... we'll see... if it has issues I'll have spare parts for Omega in a weekend... :) where can I put a spare frame and axles? my storage in Centralia is full up with three or four of my other jeeps... ;) This was a daily driver... but now it's running on one less cylinder, suspect it's got a hole in a piston... we'll see... I don't care... Maybe I'll put a 4.0L into it for grins... maybe not... ;) john ----- - ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Snohomish, Washington -o|||||o- where Jeeps don't rust, they mold http://freegift.com ** http://wagoneers.com ** - ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 20 Jul 2007 22:51:12 -0700 From: chuck goolsbee Subject: Re: [db] local driver wanted... :) >anyone up to a relatively short, and hopefully mild adventure? I'm thinking I may run over tomorrow with the WJ and the tow bar... I've towed a Jeepster and my CJ with the setup... only need to go 12 miles to get on the ferry... then another 12 to get home, all low speed roads... can take my time and not push it... flat towing is better than using a tow dolly... I thought about using my neighbors car trailer, but that'll cost more for the ferry run and I don't have enough chains to secure it on the bed... if it doesn't work out then I might try to drive it home, and would need a 2nd driver... will keep you posted. :) I really need to study, have a final exam next weekend... john ----- - ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Snohomish, Washington -o|||||o- where Jeeps don't rust, they mold http://freegift.com ** http://wagoneers.com ** - ---------------------------------------------------------------------- On Fri, 20 Jul 2007, chuck goolsbee wrote: # >anyone up to a relatively short, and hopefully mild adventure? # # I *might* be available Sunday. It was started a month ago... runs and drives... but is loud... that makes me think there is either a cracked manifold or leaking exhaust, very common on the 360s, or there is a large hole in a piston, or both... they've had this thing for about 4 or 5 years now... was driven daily, other complaint is it's very cold blooded... really? An AMC 360 V8 cold blooded... what a shock.... ;) Not sure what's more shocking, moldy seatbelts or a cold blooded boat anchor, I mean 360 V8. ;) Jim Blair has a 304 we're negotiating on... a 304 would net better fuel economy than a 360... so if the flex plate from the 360 will bolt right up I think that would be the quickest way of making this a runner and putting it up for adoption after I clean it up a bit. If it's a big pile of rolling moss and mold and there are other mechanical issues it will be carried out of here in pieces, with many of them finding a home in my carport. :) Either way, just another adventure... a free jeep from freeland... waiting to hear the tow estimate, and whether or not jim included installation in his price quote on that 304. ;) back to homework for now.... final exam next weekend... john ----- - ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Snohomish, Washington -o|||||o- where Jeeps don't rust, they mold http://freegift.com ** http://wagoneers.com ** - ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 21 Jul 2007 12:13:14 -0700 (PDT) From: john Subject: [db] adventures with Jim compare: http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y209/carnuck/bluepartsXJ.jpg to: http://www.wagoneers.com/fotos/OTHERS_fotos/misc/Truck-transport-China2.jpg which country is safer???? john ----- - ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Snohomish, Washington -o|||||o- where Jeeps don't rust, they mold http://freegift.com ** http://wagoneers.com ** - ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 21 Jul 2007 12:14:28 -0700 (PDT) From: john Subject: OT Re: [db] the '89 GW plan... oops...
