Jimbo, Thanks for the words of encouragement. You guys are gonna have your hands full, but you'll be OK. After meeting with the surgeon who will be doing the "resection" this morning I found out that he will be doing the surgery at 10 AM tomorrow. That took me by surprise. He had me starting the "cleansing" of my colon at 10 AM this morning, which was the time I was in his office.... I had business to take care of, finishing off the will among other things, and the pharmacy wasn't able to get one of antibiotics I have to take until 1:30 this afternoon. I'll start drinking that salty stuff in a few minutes and won't be available to respond to any emails. I am not turning off this list while I'm gone as it shouldn't clog up my inbox. I have too much fun with you guys! Incidentally, I talked with Big John on the phone last night for the first time. We've got a really cool leader! I thoroughly enjoyed our conversation. Our discussion went a long way to making me feel better about my situation. Thank you, John, thank you... On a personal note, I was concerned that John would be pushing his religious views on me. I'm not overly religious, I leave those duties to my wife. To my surprise, he did no "pushing"... I found out I was in agreement with most of what he said and that he was much more moderate that I'd been lead to believe. John is one class act!!! So, I'll sign off now but will be back in about a week or ten days. If all goes well, I'll be cancer free and be able to help you and Alec control the "beast" in Big John. Don't eat all the popcorn, I'll be pretty hungry by then.... Take care and see ya on the flip side. Or, Semper Fi, if you are so inclined. Jon Jim Hoffman wrote: >Prayers for a speedy recovery!! We're going to be building an addition at the back of our hill-hugger home. Got a soil report done, they specified something called a "Pier and grade beam" foundation. Big bux. BIG BUX. BIIIIG BUUUUUX! People will have to clamber down the hill with portable drills. Pretty well guaranteed it will be no more expensive than $1000/hole. - Jerry Kaidor ( jerry-at-tr2.com ) ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 4 Sep 2007 17:34:39 -0700 (PDT) From: john Subject: Re: [db] Unavailable for a short period... glad I was able to entertain. :) you do realize we spent an hour on the phone! hope you recover quickly, and kind of hoping they keep you in the hospital long enough for you to decide to quit smoking too! have lost way too many friends and relatives to those nasty things... ...also recommend a chiropractor and allergy shots... and of course a good fundamentalist church that teaches the Bible. ;) semper fi. john ----- - ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Snohomish, Washington -o|||||o- where Jeeps don't rust, they mold http://freegift.com ** http://wagoneers.com ** - ---------------------------------------------------------------------- On Tue, 4 Sep 2007, Jon Filina wrote: # Jimbo, # # Thanks for the words of encouragement.
