This is the 3.2 Benz V6, not the VM Motori unit previously used in the Liberty. I don't remember if it was a 5 or a 6 speed auto tranny. No manual option, but I think there were two 4WD options available, including at least one with both low and high range. Fast, quiet, powerful, and combined fuel economy around 20mpg, compared to about 15 for the Hemi gasser. Unfortunately, even though the diesel option is less than 2 thousand more than a hemi, they're still in the mid 40s. What's first thing the toyota and chevy guys do to their trucks? Solid-axle conversions... why? because a solid axle is way better for off-road use. Haven't even gotten into the issues with the rear suspension on the WK... and what's up with the "K" designator, it's supposed to be a "J". Cluelessness reigns supreme... the only "real" jeep left is being ruined as well... ----- - ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Snohomish, Washington -o|||||o- where Jeeps don't rust, they mold http://freegift.com ** http://wagoneers.com ** - ---------------------------------------------------------------------- On Mon, 8 Oct 2007, Alec Cordova wrote: # Latest episode of Motorweek has new Grand Cherokee with the same CRD # engine used in the ML/RL/GL. I replaced the one on my '84 several years ago with a new one. From what I remember, my mechanic said they either couldn't be rebuilt or that a rebuild was a short term fix.
