I think it cost $3,200. I bought it from my folks as soon as I had my license. I would think that it had the 4 speed, mine was a 3 speed... but even as much effort as it took to shift it, I never found myself double clutching to beat traffic that included mercedes, porsches and opels with 350 chevy's in them. :) after driving around in that thing my '71 BMW 2500 was a dream to shift... like a hot knife through butter... actually, that 240D that Paul has felt about the same... I was tempted to keep that thing because of how nicely it shifted...
