Seems like SWMBO has decided we are touring Ireland next year, so I have a tentative schedule that kind of runs this way between June 23 and July 3: 2 days in Dublin upon arrival from USA Rent car, drive to Galway and put down roots at a local B&B for 4 nights - - explore area (also have to drive to Belleek at some point). Drive to Belfast and take ferry over to visit friends in Stranraer (have to find out if Budget Ireland gets uptight about that). Back to Belfast then down to Drogheda or parts north of Dublin for 2 days then home. The issue that I have not resolved to my satisfaction is the bit about taking a local rental across to Scotland and Back. Have you any experience with this or a local place you can ask? So far Budget has not responded to my question and I hate to book the ferry without a definitive answer. If we will be passing near you at any point in this escapade, would be more than happy to have a coffee or tip a beer with you along the way. BTW those GW are tempting but as you can see I have enough on my plate and no more room to hide projects :-) Best regards. Edward 93 MB 300D 01 VW TDi 52 MG TD in bits 64 MB 220Sb (in need of total interior and new paint) 97 Pontica van and 2 more American iron sleds driven by SWMBO and daughter.
