That said, I hate chains and only have them because CHP says so and will check you at a checkpoint to make sure you are carrying chains, regardless of whether or not you are driving a 4x4 locked at both ends with a winch and shoed with severe snow duty tires. And, they have to be the right size too. Always a crap shoot relying on the jeeps. I know, I have five. Fortunately I have other 4x4s to choose from, granted not quite as capable as the jeeps. Call your local Schucks, tell them you want to make sure they have your size of "alpine chains" they are 79.99, but they should offer you a ten percent discount for calling first, if they don't offer, then ask for the ten pecent discount. They are 79.99 for automotive sizes, less ten percent, plus tax leaves you at about 80 bucks for very durable, quite easy to install chains. One of the major downfall of the "spyder" chains is that you have to find somewhere to store them in your car, and the part you snap ondoes NOT get smaller, so it takes a large amount of space in your trunk for the part of your trip that is not spent in the snow.
