Our current system of tax is based on engine size here in Ireland, see here for the cost.. prices in euros : https://www.motortax.ie/mtoapp/pdf/motortax_rates_2008_en.pdf BUT if a car is over 30yrs old it is then defined as a classic and incurs just a 50e tax rate no matter what size engine (also cars over 30yrs old do not have to pass the National Car Test). I'd be driving a classic for SURE! The only thing worse than non-achievers using taxes to get even with the achievers is social engineers using taxes to manipulate behavior. Both schemes are destructive to society, and signal that the end is near for any semblance of freedom. If we the people of the planet don't rise up and fight tyranny, there is going to be literally no civilized nation on earth where personal and economic autodetermination (read: freedom) are allowed. Scary. That's why I go on so many rants. I'm trying to wake people up that their freedoms are being confiscated, one tax and regulation at a time. I don't like small cars, though I admit that 157mpg is a very attractive figure. But I wouldn't get that anyway; my right foot is too heavy. 8^) J - -- ejpomeroy-at-qtm.net wrote: Wonder what the diesel version will cost?
