Keep at it. What you want just doesn't seem to be available in a pre-packaged US-market vehicle, especially under something crazy like $50K or more. This should be doable. You should be able to create a comfortable, capable, reliable, flexible, roomy diesel 4x4 within that budget. I need th encouragement... just looked at what's out there in the Diesel world in 4x4... school bus sized pickup trucks or wimpy and aged and needing help... :( putting the money into Omega (91 Grand Wagoneer) makes more sense than buying a newer Diesel... found a couple of nice liberties (if you can call them nice) for $21,000 looking at a loan calculator the monthly payment can range from $350 to $600/mo depending on time/rate... I can easily put my Jeep in the shop for professional help at those rates. :) john ----- - ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Snohomish, Washington -o|||||o- where Jeeps don't rust, they mold http://freegift.com ** http://wagoneers.com ** - ---------------------------------------------------------------------- "One can not say that I am not flexible, or creative... it's not that I change my mind, it's that my mind is changed by the circumstances as they unfold." - ---------------------------------------------------------------------- On Fri, 4 Apr 2008, Alec Cordova wrote: # Keep at it. # What you want just doesn't seem to be available in a pre-packaged # US-market vehicle, especially under something crazy like $50K or more. # # This should be doable. I love my '99 Dodge 2500 RAM 24 valve Cummins. Cummins makes a nice engine. I have a Quad cab, SLT (power windows, leather, etc.), 4X4. And I paid almost exactly your budget. I also have a '94 Ford F-350 Turbo IDI XLT 4X4 and I don't like it as much as the Dodge. Of course part of that may be that the suspension is SOOO much stiffer on the F-350 that it makes it uncomfortable to drive depending on road conditions.
