As you slow down the trailer keeps going, surging forward, and is supposed to activate the brakes... they don't any more... need to get it fixed... it worked really well when I first had it set up... I could stop the XJ faster with the trailer attached then without a trailer. :) of course those 11" Disc brakes on that trailer are the same as the front discs on the Grand Wagoneer and J10. my '91 Grand Wagoneer with the GM Hydroboost setup can stop very quickly... I haven't had the nerve to really slam the brakes since that encounter with the oil filter. :) john ----- - ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Snohomish, Washington -o|||||o- where Jeeps don't rust, they mold http://wagoneers.com john's 6.2L GW: http://wagoneers.com/FSJ/Omega/ SAVE FUEL use AMSOIL Synthetics: http://wagoneers.com/AMSOIL - ------------------------------------------------------------------------- On Thu, 26 Jun 2008, jasonbassett-at-juno.com wrote: # By "surge brake" do you mean the electric trailer brakes? Do you mean "Power Service" additive? Those are good, but adding straight up oil is still a good idea, because the fuel has gotten so thin. The PS additives add a bit of lubricity, but oil adds a healthy dose of "body" to an otherwise dangerously thin fuel. J - -- Jim Hoffman wrote: 1. The factory lift pump failed about two months ago.
