The PO wasn't too impressed by the PPO. :) http://wagoneers.com/fotos/2008/11-Nov-22-1980-J10/ The good news is the engine looks good, has two good axles and apparently good running gear... frame looks ok, but I'm not sure if the stepside bed will mount on this frame, suspect it will, but we'll see... if it runs well and brakes work and all, then I'll just put SuperDawg's body on this frame and either part the rest or fix and use these parts on superdawg's old frame... the rear bumper has a receiver hitch, might use it on my trailer... :) looks good in the carport... the hood is over on the side of the carport, it wasn't bolted on... Need to push it over to the side a bit more and back so I can at least get my Mercedes in and keep the windshield clear for the mornings. :) I got one of four courses mostly done today, three more to go then I can get my wrenches out and get this J10 out of my shop under its own power... :) john ----- - ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Snohomish, Washington -o|||||o- where Jeeps don't rust, they mold http://johnmeister.com/fotomeister - Trust Jesus: http://freegift.com SAVE power, avoid viruses, use LINUX: http://johnmeister.com/tmcp.pdf SAVE fuel, use synthetics: http://AMSOIL.com/redirect.cgi?zo=283461 - ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 23 Nov 2008 07:53:00 -0500 From: Mike Frank Subject: Re: [db] 97 E320 It's fixed up and working perfectly. Diesel is consistemtly $1.00 above that in same range. It is getting my goat that what used to be less per gal than gasoline has flipped and by this much. Every reason I have heard from refining capacity to demand does not seem to hold up under scrutiny. The economy is slowing, less goods are being transported and that spiral seems to be on a downward path for the next year or two, yet diesel is still waay above gasoline. With gasoline prices dropping I would expect demand for that to go up, and diesel (and kerosene, lube oil etc.) is a byproduct of the overall refining process... so what gives? How is it that diesel was for years, consistently 30 to 50 cents/gal below gasoline? I hope someone in the industry that knows what is going on can chime in here... ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 23 Nov 2008 13:49:07 -0800 (PST) From: john Subject: Re: [db] Fuel price blues here in WA they have more tax on Diesel... and I think they are trying to punish us because we're doing the right thing ecologically and able to drive nice vehicles, and they don't like that... they think we should drive a Priuus or wear earth shoes and walk because Diesels sometimes have smoke... ;) ----- - ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Snohomish, Washington -o|||||o- where Jeeps don't rust, they mold http://johnmeister.com/fotomeister - Trust Jesus: http://freegift.com SAVE power, avoid viruses, use LINUX: http://johnmeister.com/tmcp.pdf SAVE fuel, use synthetics: http://AMSOIL.com/redirect.cgi?zo=283461 - ------------------------------------------------------------------------ On Sun, 23 Nov 2008, Edward Pomeroy wrote: # Well folks, gasoline prices are now stabilized in this area (Indiana/SW lower # MI), running between 1.63 and 1,.75/gal depending on where you look. Another instance of government in action. Basically, with the switch to ulsd, most refineries couldn't make it, so they still make the old diesel and sell it overseas. A lot of our diesel comes from elsewhere, which makes the price higher. Winter coming up always makes diesel go up as well.
