When I had first gotten my Dodge RAM I was trying to figure out some way to use it to make some extra cash. I asked around and got directed to that site. I registered and did some looking around. I have never bid on anything yet. But, yeah, I'm not sure what the success rate is. Of course timing is everything. But for me, I could just keep looking and waiting for something that fits for me and then bid. Just hoping I didn't end up on the loosing end of some scam. If I felt confident in my understanding of the mercedes, I mean rube golberg, design, I'd reverse engineer and build my own controller... part of my career was reverse engineering and redesigning such systems on airplanes... but they were well documented and my budget for experimenting was a little bit larger than the one I have for this project. ;) If just putting a potentiometer on the input leads to the fan wouldn't likely destroy the climate control computer, auxillary pump, a/c clutch, temp sensor and more than likely the power windows, vacuum system, door locks, cruise control, and the fog lights, I'd give it a whirl... oh, found out why my cruise control has been somewhat intermittent... I had a filament on the passenger side brake light that would come loose every now and then... but not long enough to turn on the yellow idiot light. I tell you what, I am going to be very happy to have my '83 J10 back... happier when can convert it to a nice simple Diesel... no chips... no controllers... mechanical system... :) john ----- - ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Snohomish, Washington -o|||||o- where Jeeps don't rust, they mold http://johnmeister.com/fotomeister - Trust Jesus: http://freegift.com SAVE power, avoid viruses, use LINUX: http://johnmeister.com/tmcp.pdf SAVE fuel, use synthetics: http://AMSOIL.com/redirect.cgi?zo=283461 - ------------------------------------------------------------------------ On Mon, 19 Jan 2009, ejpomeroy-at-qtm.net wrote: # Belay the last post, I spent the last 6 minutes looking at the last 2 # pictures with a magnifying glass on the screen.
