I think the current observation most likely to be the culprit is the parking brake cable and setup... that's what the shop was working on... it may be too tight... or out of adjustment, will have to crawl under and check it out... they had to make a custom plate to make the D44 axle work with the tug's parking brake, which does work... it just isn't releasing the driver's side... if you look at the pictures the shoes don't return to the top post... and the ebrake setup is pushing up... should be a simple fix. I'm a bit irritated that I've got to deal with this... they also didn't have a shifter for the xfr case... and I kind of knew that if the tug weren't functional that it would snow... it's snowing... kind of rare to have this kind of weather in seattle this late in the year... guess I'll take the WJ to work... ;) ----- - ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Snohomish, Washington -o|||||o- where Jeeps don't rust, they mold http://AMSOIL.com/redirect.cgi?zo=283461 http://creationwiki.org http://johnmeister.com http://wagoneers.com http://fotomeister.us - ------------------------------------------------------------------------ On Mon, 9 Mar 2009, Chip Price wrote: # John, # # Have you changed out your Master Cylinder? # If you have someone press the brake peddal while you push in on them, do they move out, and then back in? # Did you have drum turned when you did the brake job? # Adjusted correctly? # Also try when it hangs, to crack open the bleeder or the brake line it's self to see if it relieves the pressure. # Could be a wheel cylinder issue or a master cylinder issue, or maybe even a porportioning valve # Chip # # --- On Sun, 3/8/09, diesel john wrote: # # From: diesel john # Subject: [CJ-10List] need brake help # To: # Date: Sunday, March 8, 2009, 7:55 PM # # the left brake is hanging, the wheel cylinder is NOT leaking # and not frozen, but the shoes aren't retracting properly... # # http://wagoneers.com/FSJ/rigs/1986-CJ10A/2009_Mar_08_brakes_bumper/tug-brakes / # # anyone see an issue? jim, or jon, any chance of stopping by and taking a look? # # working on a custom rear bumper from the remains, # http://wagoneers.com/FSJ/rigs/1986-CJ10A/2009_Mar_08_brakes_bumper/tug-bumper / # # # john # # # # ----- # ------------------------------------------------------------------------ # Snohomish, Washington -o|||||o- where Jeeps don't rust, they mold # http://AMSOIL.com/redirect.cgi?zo=283461 http://creationwiki.org # http://johnmeister.com http://wagoneers.com http://fotomeister.us # ------------------------------------------------------------------------ # # # # ------------------------------------ # # To View Pictures stored at the webiste go to: # http://groups.yahoo.com/group/CJ-10List and click "photos"Yahoo! # Groups Links # # # # # # # # # [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] # # ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 9 Mar 2009 20:50:11 -0700 (PDT) From: diesel john Subject: [db] Diesel filter for Nissan 3.3L SD-33 got my buddy's gas 300E benz out of my shop after he got the right parts for the injectors... crawled under the hood of the tug... the fuel filters appear to be Baldwin BF954, well at least the secondary... can anyone confirm that the primary is the same? found an aussie website that confirmed that the BF954 is the primary, but there is two... looks like they're both the same... one is on the fender well, the other on the back of the engine... amsoil cross references it to: Donaldson P-Series Heavy Duty Fuel Filters Product Code: P550057-EA anyone know if there is a cross reference for this with more capacity? these are kind of short, and I have lots of room below both mounts: Description Baldwin Filter BF954 Fuel Filter, Spin-On, Length 3 7/16 In, this is the critical part: Outside Dia 3 1/16 In, Thread Pitch 3/4-16 still haven't messed with the brakes... back wasn't happy with me working on that 300e, legs started spazzing out... :( thanx, john ----- - ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Snohomish, Washington -o|||||o- where Jeeps don't rust, they mold http://AMSOIL.com/redirect.cgi?zo=283461 http://creationwiki.org http://johnmeister.com http://wagoneers.com http://fotomeister.us - ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 10 Mar 2009 10:58:41 -0700 (PDT) From: diesel john Subject: [db] filter research http://wagoneers.com/FSJ/rigs/1986-CJ10A/AXLES_ENGINE_INFO/baldwin-filter-BF954.txt looks like Baldwin BF954 crosses to NAPA 3386, and 3388 is the longer version, superseded by 3393. john ----- - ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Snohomish, Washington -o|||||o- where Jeeps don't rust, they mold http://AMSOIL.com/redirect.cgi?zo=283461 http://creationwiki.org http://johnmeister.com http://wagoneers.com http://fotomeister.us - ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------ End of diesel-benz-digest V1 #3019 **********************************
