I'm not sure if the scout tailshaft/4wd adapter will work with an NP series xfr case, but I am hoping someone on this list would have the tail end of a 727 they'd sell or donate to the jeep cause... I'm kind of pumped, I may be hooking my J10 trailer up to the '99 WJ and heading east over the mountains in a week or two... I don't think my friend has the 4.2 in my J10 yet so I could have him drop this engine in and I'll drag it home to finish the plumbing... does anyone also have the motor mounts for the SD33 from their tug left over? I noticed the scout mounts are different... Anyone in the Seattle-Portland-Spokane-Missoula area with some extra bits and pieces? The tug is doing remarkably well with the naturally aspirated SD33 after the synthetic oil and shift kit... further weight reductions will only help. The turbo version of this engine will surely push my J10 around just fine with 3.54 gears... only drawback to using a TF727 is no overdrive... but 5 mph difference in RPM isn't too serious... if highway performance becomes an issue I could go to larger tires, going to 31's would just about make it the same as the 3.31 gears/235s I have on the tug... john ----- - ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Snohomish, Washington -o|||||o- where Jeeps don't rust, they mold http://AMSOIL.com/redirect.cgi?zo=283461 http://creationwiki.org http://johnmeister.com http://wagoneers.com http://fotomeister.us - ------------------------------------------------------------------------ On Thu, 4 Jun 2009, david-at-lang.hm wrote: # On Thu, 4 Jun 2009, diesel john wrote: # # > well, we could start bidding on the parts, and I'll drag it home # > this weekend... I remember something along that line. I always liked James better, because he's so much like me: methodical, if a little slow sometimes, a trained musician with multiple talents, a lover of pipe smoking, a little nerdy.....yes, he's very much like me; or, I'm very much like him, since he's older. And he's got the TV show. :D Maybe I could replace him if he ever retires. :P He really came through in that one in the first round, but I don't think his second try made it, IIRC. Those of you who have met me only briefly will be surprised to hear me say that, because at a glance, I'll remind you of "the Hamster," because I'm closer to his age, but get to know me, and I'm very decidedly more James.
