I quit picking up those free weekly ad sheets... walking away from the gold mine on craigslist, well, that may just require an intervention of some kind... ;) john ----- - ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Snohomish, Washington -o|||||o- where Jeeps don't rust, they mold http://AMSOIL.com/redirect.cgi?zo=283461 http://creationwiki.org http://johnmeister.com http://wagoneers.com http://fotomeister.us - ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 26 Jun 2009 05:15:38 GMT From: "jasonbassett-at-juno.com" Subject: Re: [db] handling No it doesn't......it's just that you've got truck springs that hardly let it budge, no matter what, and he's got worn-out coils. The springs in that 4-wheel-independent system will get soft after 20 years, (several of mine are) and then handling gets sloppy, but when in proper working order, that 560sl will definitely outmanoeuver your Jeep. But hey, at least your Jeep has one less thing to have to replace. :D - ---------- Original Message ---------- From: diesel john To: undisclosed-recipients: ; Subject: [db] handling Date: Tue, 23 Jun 2009 18:02:28 -0700 (PDT) found out the cj-10a handles better than a 560SL tonight... some guy in a red one with the top down was next to me at the light on airport road heading out onto sr526... light changed and as usual I inserted my foot into the injection pump and left it there... I was in the inside lane so at some point I had to move over one lane to merge... we went into the right hander at somewhere between 45 and 50... I heard tires squealing, but not from the tug... from the benz... looked over and man did that thing have some body roll... he almost crossed over into traffic... very sloppy. ;) I guess this little tug does handle like it's on rails... starting to get over the initial fear of it because of how high I'm sitting... it took a bit of time, but learning how stable it is in the curves... I still haven't found the limits... and with the current engine, not likely to. :) With some lifted 4x4's you can feel the edge of the limit and it results in a pretty high pucker factor, but so far I haven't felt anything like that yet with this thing... the wagoneer sway bar is still in place and the weight is pretty low... nice wide stance... good tires... now all I need is more power. :) john ----- - ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Snohomish, Washington -o|||||o- where Jeeps don't rust, they mold http://AMSOIL.com/redirect.cgi?zo=283461 http://creationwiki.org http://johnmeister.com http://wagoneers.com http://fotomeister.us - ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ____________________________________________________________ Compete with the big boys.
