Hello Everyone, I have a friend who is looking to purchase a 1987 300DT. Is there anything in particular to lookout for with this vehicle? Is this the engine that may have a cylinder head issue? I see conflicting info on whether it's an inline 5 or inline 6 setup. The asking price is $3995. Is that a decent price if no major issues? Thanks, Marc Z in NC ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 21 Nov 2009 18:49:46 -0800 (PST) From: john Subject: Re: [db] 124 body style, things to look out for? no problems with that engine, it's the 3.0L i-6 not as economical as the later 2.5l I-5 TD, but potent. I've driven a couple of them... haven't heard of issues. The PROBLEM child is the 3.5L I-6. john ----- - ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Snohomish, Washington -o|||||o- where Jeeps don't rust, they mold http://AMSOIL.com/redirect.cgi?zo=283461 http://creationwiki.org http://johnmeister.com http://wagoneers.com http://fotomeister.us - ------------------------------------------------------------------------ On Sat, 21 Nov 2009, Marc Z wrote: # Hello Everyone, # # I have a friend who is looking to purchase a 1987 300DT. If it has the original #14 head, you have to be careful that it has never been overheated, or never get it hot yourself or it could crap very easy.
