(I did buy a 2nd plug) this means I'm down to one running vehicle!!!! how did this happen? ;) the '89 XJ runs, but I don't have any paperwork, yet... very close, maybe tomorrow... wow. went from four to one in a week or so. guess a guy needs a spare vehicle or two. ;) john ----- - ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Snohomish, Washington -o|||||o- where Jeeps don't rust, they mold http://AMSOIL.com/redirect.cgi?zo=283461 http://creationwiki.org http://johnmeister.com http://wagoneers.com http://fotomeister.us - ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 05 Jan 2010 19:18:09 -0500 From: Mike Frank Subject: Re: [db] '97 E300? My friend Erik the astro expert said "fuel pump!", but driving it around the neighborhood ( would only go 10MPH uphill ), was seeing 60PSI on the fuel bus. I desperately need an OBDII scan tool that displays dynamic engine data. To figure out which of the myriad sensors is messed up. It's showing P0155( bad o2 sensor heater ), P0300 ( misfires ), and P0101 ( problem with the MAF sensor ). Tried cleaning it with MAF sensor cleaner, no difference. Replaced the throttle position sensor ( your basic $50 pot, and it was pretty worn out ), no difference. * Our Jaguar has started making a really nasty noise from the rear end. I think one of the funky little parking brake pads has come loose from its backing plate and is rubbing on the disk. I really HATE to get into that IRS again.... All of this got me down to third-tier transportation: our '55 Triumph. So I got out early yesterday morning for a medical appointment - IT WOULDN'T START. Probably just fouled spark plugs. ...and the MGA has a rear tire that sags flat once a month. In general, the tires are so decrepit, I wouldn't dare take it on the freeway. Time to go down the hill and spend $300 on a new set. But I think the leaker is because of rust pits on the rim, and a new one will leak just as bad. So we're down to one car - my wife's SSR. The F-250 will not get good mileage. The automatic in 86 was a c-6, which, while it'll hold up to all the stupid things I've done with a heated up 460 in a tow rig, is probably the most inefficient automatic transmission put in a vehicle with 11k GVW or less. And that's without taking into account that it has no overdrive. Though in its defense, that 460 doesn't do much worse than the dodge dually with 440 and 727...
