Only reason to buy this if you want a 4Wd diesel hilux is because the L and R series engines shared mounts, so dropping a diesel in a 22R powered truck doesn't require welding. The 2WD and 4WD are way different, even in the body from what I recall, so I'd start with a dead 4wd and a running diesel rather than trying to make a 4x4 out of a running 2WD diesel. The 2L toyota should sell easily. If not, double list it down in sacto, and we'll figure out the logistics of getting you back home, probably over a few visits to the local in-n-out ;) On Sun, Jan 10, 2010 at 11:31:45PM -0800, john wrote: > kevin... wow... how tempting... next Jim will come on with how my AW4 will mate > up and then Dave will come on with an axle swap and voila... a 4x4 automatic Diesel... > > :) > > I need to do a reality check... yeah, I know... hard to do in my world... > > the '89 Cherokee is running great... but I won't drive it daily because it's gas... and > I shouldn't keep it because I already have two nice vehicles... my '91 300D and > the '99 WJ... so selling the XJ will pay for the Toyota which will be a stand in > until SuperDawg is done... then I should be able to sell the Toyota for whatever > I have into it... > > I guess the Toyota makes sense... It appears that the leak is in the front of the radiator and the fluid is blowing over the top. I read today that using fluid other than the Mercedes fluid can negatively affect the sealant used to seal the top to the body of the radiator but not sure about that one..... The whole plastic top where the metal clamp is, is wet. It seems that the fluid has seeped around the top. It's wetter on the right side where it is also running down that side of the radiator. john wrote: > sure it's not the hose?
