I started to do this job tonight, but don't have a good allen head socket... so I looked at my pictures from the time I did this in 2004: http://johnmeister.com/DieselBenz/TECH/124-series/Pressure-Valve-Seal-Replacement/ what would a shop, say like jim's, charge to do this and change out the other 4 glow plugs? ;) I've finally got the doors working in the VW rabbit... getting good used parts is a slight challenge... WVO run in the morning... the wabbit gets a work out... then when I get home I get to deal with my 300D... if the 300d sits for a while it's having trouble getting started... the last time there wasn't fuel in the filter, this time there was, so I'm thinking the pressure seals are leaking bad enough to loose fuel... which would explain the smell of Diesel. :) john ----- - ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Snohomish, Washington -o|||||o- where Jeeps don't rust, they mold http://AMSOIL.com/redirect.cgi?zo=283461 si vis pacem, para bellum http://johnmeister.com http://wagoneers.com http://fotomeister.us - ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 29 Jan 2010 23:44:27 -0800 (PST) From: john Subject: [db] 2000 Grand Cherokee Laredo the 2000 WJ is ready... for sale... on cl in Seattle... http://seattle.craigslist.org/sno/cto/1574228541.html http://wagoneers.com/tmp/cl-items/2000-WJ/ALL.html it passed emissions, has good tabs... the throttle position and transmission speed sensor were bad, likely from before the swap... it's running great... need to clean up the inside a bit, will vacuum and treat the leather seats... the '89 XJ is also on CL http://seattle.craigslist.org/sno/cto/1566988443.html also have the remains of the original 4.0 from the 2000 for sale... along with a T-19/D20 and a TF727... the 4.0L head from the '00 is good... john ----- - ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Snohomish, Washington -o|||||o- where Jeeps don't rust, they mold http://AMSOIL.com/redirect.cgi?zo=283461 si vis pacem, para bellum http://johnmeister.com http://wagoneers.com http://fotomeister.us - ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 30 Jan 2010 10:16:05 -0800 (PST) From: john Subject: [db] as we get older... ...our interest in vehicles might change...
