Wrecked the driver's side door and mirror. $1800 estimate to repair using a used door. All mechanical and electrical components seem to still work, but can't open the door more than about 5 or 6 inches. Glad I'm squishy, I can *just* get in and out. I got distracted talking to someone just before I got in the car, and there were no other cars next to me on that side, so I forgot the pillar was there. :( Breaks my 21-year streak of no accidents that were my fault. Now I can't mock my wife and mother-in-law for their mishaps (garbage can and tree at end of our driveway respectively) anymore. At least this accident wasn't like the one 21 years ago. No one was hurt, the car (presumably!) isn't totalled, no one else will be making any claims, and my rates won't go up. And, glad it was the 124 and not the 115, since I probably would have had the same accident, but not sure the 115 would be repaired by insurance and whether it could have the lacquer paint done right for any repair.
