I wouldn't have given the hankook a 2nd look were it not for your respected opinion. I have had good and bad tires of many brands, what's sad is different models are different and brands get better or worse over time. The vw is so light that good wet traction is critical. Will ck the 727's out, they're not a bargain tire, nor are they expensive. The michelins are 30 bucks more. The guy at discount suggested pirelli p4 all seasons 100ea, michlen mxv4 130, and goodyear assurance triple 127ea. I've got a new set of 205/50 15s on new beetle rims that I can sell so this will likely be a wash, so spending more won't be a problem. And with a set of spider spikes and a Jeep I'm not too worried about the 2 or 3 snow events or even crossing the passes. I'm looking at the picture of the 727 and it's growing on me. :) We'll see. I mean reviews are "ok", but can I extrapolate that my driving conditions/style will match the guy with a saturn in miami or the guy with the tempo in buffalo? people often don't know... that's why I'm asking y'all... we are a group of folks that are above average in this area... your opinions count a lot more than some grandpa in florida or arizona... :) I am very happy with the Bridgestone revo a/ts on my current jeep though... awesome tires. they don't come in pint size though... :( speaking of BFGs... the originals needed siping, the KOs are so rough riding that I won't do them again... Goodyears... same experience, wear out fast... sadly, because they were usually good...
