My car was a couple of years in PA and then in NC. If you look underneath you will find a couple rusty areas on suspension parts but nothing on the body. The mileage on my car is low, only 125K and I am sure, this also factory why the color has not started to change to brown. I'm looking into just programming up a TI Launchpad to run the auto transmission manually at the touch of a button. Yes.... one button shifting. ( http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/MSP430_LaunchPad_%28MSP-EXP430G2%29?DCMP=launchpad&HQS=Other+OT+launchpadwiki) Skip the computer in the Jeep. I already know what people are thinking. But you can't run an automatic trans with electric. Actually in this case I think it more prudent since from what I have read thus far it appears that AC motors produce a lot of torque which is known to kill low gears in the manual transmissions they are plugged into. I'm hoping to modify the auto trans and use the torque converter to my advantage. This whole thing needs to be able to off road just like (I'm hoping better) than the original gasser. Here are a couple pictures of my rig http://173.203.97.27/files/xj236hd7jwnc.jpg http://173.203.97.27/files/notmuddyenough.jpg Yes it's true I admit it. I'm probably completely nuts.. Get out your popcorn!
