I suppose when you hit around 250k have the timing chain and oil chain replaced. I saw chuck's comment... :) I can say this, the amsoil prevented the engine from grenading, which gave me false hope that it would be ok... it still might be... the shop wasn't willing to take my money on the chance it would be ok... my son may try to replace the chain... or put a ford 5.0L in it... I really don't know if that hunk of brass is a rod bearing or not... don't care to spend $1500 to find out if the engine is ok... it turns over, but that's no way to tell. The car has the hydraulic levelling rear suspension, heated seats, traction control and is in excellent condition other than an interior that could stand to be detailed. New windshield not too long ago... the rims are good... I'm going to put the new Continentals from my VW on them and keep the Pirellis. The continentals are fine tires, but the Pirellis seem to have more traction features... and they should last longer. I may try to find an engine for it and get it running, if I can get an engine for less than $2k I'll make the car whole and sell it for market value... not going to get anything parting it out... parting out trucks and jeeps is one thing, parting out a mercedes sedan is quite another. :) john ----- - ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Snohomish, Washington -o|||||o- where Jeeps don't rust, they mold http://AMSOIL.com/redirect.cgi?zo=283461 si vis pacem, para bellum http://johnmeister.com http://wagoneers.com http://fotomeister.us - ------------------------------------------------------------------------ On Tue, 29 Mar 2011, Bruce Caruthers wrote: # Wow.
