I had this same procedure done to my 240D many moons ago and I asked my mechanic the same thing. Also, I don't think that the old refrigerant is available anymore. Or, if it is, it is outrageously expensive. Hope this helps.. It simply tells you your boat (or amphicar) must be to the left of the marker (it is on your right side) when heading up the river from the sea or into the port or harbor. If you don't observe this you will likely become motionless on some rock or sandbar.
