1Ch 20:1 And it came to pass, that after the year was expired, at the time that kings go out to battle, Joab led forth the power of the army, and wasted the country of the children of Ammon, and came and besieged Rabbah. But David tarried at Jerusalem. And Joab smote Rabbah, and destroyed it. 1 Chr 20:1 Then it happened in the spring, at the time when kings go out to battle, that Joab led out the army and ravaged the land of the sons of Ammon, and came and besieged Rabbah. But David stayed at Jerusalem. And Joab struck Rabbah and overthrew it. 1Ch 21:3 And Joab answered, The LORD make his people an hundred times so many more as they be: but, my lord the king, are they not all my lord's servants? why then doth my lord require this thing? why will he be a cause of trespass to Israel? 1 Chr 21:3 Joab said, "May the Lord add to His people a hundred times as many as they are! But, my lord the king, are they not all my lord's servants? Why does my lord seek this thing? Why should he be a cause of guilt to Israel?" 1Ch 21:12 Either three years' famine; or three months to be destroyed before thy foes, while that the sword of thine enemies overtaketh thee; or else three days the sword of the LORD, even the pestilence, in the land, and the angel of the LORD destroying throughout all the coasts of Israel. Now therefore advise thyself what word I shall bring again to him that sent me. 1 Chr 21:12 either three years of famine, or three months to be swept away before your foes, while the sword of your enemies overtakes you, or else three days of the sword of the Lord, even pestilence in the land, and the angel of the Lord destroying throughout all the territory of Israel.' Now, therefore, consider what answer I shall return to Him who sent me." 1Ch 21:13 And David said unto Gad, I am in a great strait: let me fall now into the hand of the LORD; for very great are his mercies: but let me not fall into the hand of man. 1 Chr 21:13 David said to Gad, "I am in great distress; please let me fall into the hand of the Lord, for His mercies are very great. But do not let me fall into the hand of man." 1Ch 21:15 And God sent an angel unto Jerusalem to destroy it: and as he was destroying, the LORD beheld, and he repented him of the evil, and said to the angel that destroyed, It is enough, stay now thine hand. And the angel of the LORD stood by the threshingfloor of Ornan the Jebusite. 1 Chr 21:15 And God sent an angel to Jerusalem to destroy it; but as he was about to destroy it, the Lord saw and was sorry over the calamity, and said to the destroying angel, "It is enough; now relax your hand." And the angel of the Lord was standing by the threshing floor of Ornan the Jebusite. 1Ch 21:16 And David lifted up his eyes, and saw the angel of the LORD stand between the earth and the heaven, having a drawn sword in his hand stretched out over Jerusalem. 1Ch 21:17 And David said unto God, Is it not I that commanded the people to be numbered? even I it is that have sinned and done evil indeed; but as for these sheep, what have they done? let thine hand, I pray thee, O LORD my God, be on me, and on my father's house; but not on thy people, that they should be plagued. 1 Chr 21:17 David said to God, "Is it not I who commanded to count the people? Indeed, I am the one who has sinned and done very wickedly, but these sheep, what have they done? O Lord my God, please let Your hand be against me and my father's household, but not against Your people that they should be plagued." 1Ch 21:18 Then the angel of the LORD commanded Gad to say to David, that David should go up, and set up an altar unto the LORD in the threshingfloor of Ornan the Jebusite. 1 Chr 21:18 Then the angel of the Lord commanded Gad to say to David, that David should go up and build an altar to the Lord on the threshing floor of Ornan the Jebusite. 1Ch 21:22 Then David said to Ornan, Grant me the place of this threshingfloor, that I may build an altar therein unto the LORD: thou shalt grant it me for the full price: that the plague may be stayed from the people. 1 Chr 21:22 Then David said to Ornan, "Give me the site of this threshing floor, that I may build on it an altar to the Lord; for the full price you shall give it to me, that the plague may be restrained from the people." Ch1|21|22|καὶ εἶπεν Δαυιδ πρὸς Ορνα δός μοι τὸν τόπον σου τῆς ἅλω καὶ οἰκοδομήσω ἐπ᾽ αὐτῷ θυσιαστήριον τῷ κυρίῳ ἐν ἀργυρίῳ ἀξίῳ δός μοι αὐτόν καὶ παύσεται ἡ πληγὴ ἐκ τοῦ λαοῦ
1Ch 21:23 And Ornan said unto David, Take it to thee, and let my lord the king do that which is good in his eyes: lo, I give thee the oxen also for burnt offerings, and the threshing instruments for wood, and the wheat for the meat offering; I give it all. 1 Chr 21:23 Ornan said to David, "Take it for yourself; and let my lord the king do what is good in his sight. See, I will give the oxen for burnt offerings and the threshing sledges for wood and the wheat for the grain offering; I will give it all." Ch1|21|23|καὶ εἶπεν Ορνα πρὸς Δαυιδ λαβὲ σεαυτῷ καὶ ποιησάτω ὁ κύριός μου ὁ βασιλεὺς τὸ ἀγαθὸν ἐναντίον αὐτοῦ ἰδὲ δέδωκα τοὺς μόσχους εἰς ὁλοκαύτωσιν καὶ τὸ ἄροτρον καὶ τὰς ἁμάξας εἰς ξύλα καὶ τὸν σῖτον εἰς θυσίαν τὰ πάντα δέδωκα
1Ch 21:24 And king David said to Ornan, Nay; but I will verily buy it for the full price: for I will not take that which is thine for the LORD, nor offer burnt offerings without cost. 1 Chr 21:24 But King David said to Ornan, "No, but I will surely buy it for the full price; for I will not take what is yours for the Lord, or offer a burnt offering which costs me nothing." Ch1|21|24|καὶ εἶπεν ὁ βασιλεὺς Δαυιδ τῷ Ορνα οὐχί ὅτι ἀγοράζων ἀγοράζω ἐν ἀργυρίῳ ἀξίῳ ὅτι οὐ μὴ λάβω ἅ ἐστίν σοι κυρίῳ τοῦ ἀνενέγκαι ὁλοκαύτωσιν δωρεὰν κυρίῳ
1Ch 21:25 So David gave to Ornan for the place six hundred shekels of gold by weight. 1 Chr 21:25 So David gave Ornan 600 shekels of gold by weight for the site. Ch1|21|25|καὶ ἔδωκεν Δαυιδ τῷ Ορνα ἐν τῷ τόπῳ αὐτοῦ σίκλους χρυσίου ὁλκῆς ἑξακοσίους
1Ch 21:26 And David built there an altar unto the LORD, and offered burnt offerings and peace offerings, and called upon the LORD; and he answered him from heaven by fire upon the altar of burnt offering. 1 Chr 21:26 Then David built an altar to the Lord there and offered burnt offerings and peace offerings. And he called to the Lord and He answered him with fire from heaven on the altar of burnt offering. Ch1|21|26|καὶ ᾠκοδόμησεν Δαυιδ ἐκεῖ θυσιαστήριον κυρίῳ καὶ ἀνήνεγκεν ὁλοκαυτώματα καὶ σωτηρίου καὶ ἐβόησεν πρὸς κύριον καὶ ἐπήκουσεν αὐτῷ ἐν πυρὶ ἐκ τοῦ οὐρανοῦ ἐπὶ τὸ θυσιαστήριον τῆς ὁλοκαυτώσεως καὶ κατανάλωσεν τὴν ὁλοκαύτωσιν
