Day 285 - Matthew 27-28
Mat 27:1 When the morning was come, all the chief priests and elders of the people took counsel against Jesus to put him to death: (kjv) Mat 27:1 Now when morning came, all the chief priests and the elders of the people conferred together against Jesus to put Him to death; Mat|27|1|πρωΐας δὲ γενομένης συμβούλιον ἔλαβον πάντες οἱ ἀρχιερεῖς καὶ οἱ πρεσβύτεροι τοῦ λαοῦ κατὰ τοῦ ἰησοῦ ὥστε θανατῶσαι αὐτόν·
Mat 27:2 And when they had bound him, they led him away, and delivered him to Pontius Pilate the governor. (kjv) Mat 27:2 and they bound Him, and led Him away and delivered Him to Pilate the governor. Mat|27|2|καὶ δήσαντες αὐτὸν ἀπήγαγον καὶ παρέδωκαν πιλάτῳ τῶ ἡγεμόνι.
Mat 27:3 Then Judas, which had betrayed him, when he saw that he was condemned, repented himself, and brought again the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and elders, (kjv) Mat 27:3 Then when Judas, who had betrayed Him, saw that He had been condemned, he felt remorse and returned the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and elders, Mat|27|3|τότε ἰδὼν ἰούδας ὁ παραδιδοὺς αὐτὸν ὅτι κατεκρίθη μεταμεληθεὶς ἔστρεψεν τὰ τριάκοντα ἀργύρια τοῖς ἀρχιερεῦσιν καὶ πρεσβυτέροις
Mat 27:4 Saying, I have sinned in that I have betrayed the innocent blood. And they said, What is that to us? see thou to that. (kjv) Mat 27:4 saying," I have sinned by betraying innocent blood." But they said," What is that to us? See to that yourself!" Mat|27|4|λέγων, ἥμαρτον παραδοὺς αἷμα ἀθῶον. οἱ δὲ εἶπαν, τί πρὸς ἡμᾶς; σὺ ὄψῃ.
Mat 27:5 And he cast down the pieces of silver in the temple, and departed, and went and hanged himself. (kjv) Mat 27:5 And he threw the pieces of silver into the temple sanctuary and departed; and he went away and hanged himself. Mat|27|5|καὶ ῥίψας τὰ ἀργύρια εἰς τὸν ναὸν ἀνεχώρησεν, καὶ ἀπελθὼν ἀπήγξατο.
Mat 27:6 And the chief priests took the silver pieces, and said, It is not lawful for to put them into the treasury, because it is the price of blood. (kjv) Mat 27:6 The chief priests took the pieces of silver and said," It is not lawful to put them into the temple treasury, since it is the price of blood." Mat|27|6|οἱ δὲ ἀρχιερεῖς λαβόντες τὰ ἀργύρια εἶπαν, οὐκ ἔξεστιν βαλεῖν αὐτὰ εἰς τὸν κορβανᾶν, ἐπεὶ τιμὴ αἵματός ἐστιν.
Mat 27:7 And they took counsel, and bought with them the potter's field, to bury strangers in. (kjv) Mat 27:7 And they conferred together and with the money bought the Potter's Field as a burial place for strangers. Mat|27|7|συμβούλιον δὲ λαβόντες ἠγόρασαν ἐξ αὐτῶν τὸν ἀγρὸν τοῦ κεραμέως εἰς ταφὴν τοῖς ξένοις.
Mat 27:8 Wherefore that field was called, The field of blood, unto this day. (kjv) Mat 27:8 For this reason that field has been called the Field of Blood to this day. Mat|27|8|διὸ ἐκλήθη ὁ ἀγρὸς ἐκεῖνος ἀγρὸς αἵματος ἕως τῆς σήμερον.
Mat 27:9 Then was fulfilled that which was spoken by Jeremy the prophet, saying, And they took the thirty pieces of silver, the price of him that was valued, whom they of the children of Israel did value; (kjv) Mat 27:9 Then that which was spoken through Jeremiah the prophet was fulfilled." And they took the thirty pieces of silver, the price of the one whose price had been set by the sons of Israel; Mat|27|9|τότε ἐπληρώθη τὸ ῥηθὲν διὰ ἰερεμίου τοῦ προφήτου λέγοντος, καὶ ἔλαβον τὰ τριάκοντα ἀργύρια, τὴν τιμὴν τοῦ τετιμημένου ὃν ἐτιμήσαντο ἀπὸ υἱῶν ἰσραήλ,
Mat 27:10 And gave them for the potter's field, as the Lord appointed me. (kjv) Mat 27:10 and they gave them for the Potter's Field, as the Lord directed me." Mat|27|10|καὶ ἔδωκαν αὐτὰ εἰς τὸν ἀγρὸν τοῦ κεραμέως, καθὰ συνέταξέν μοι κύριος.
Mat 27:11 And Jesus stood before the governor: and the governor asked him, saying, Art thou the King of the Jews? And Jesus said unto him, Thou sayest. (kjv) Mat 27:11 Now Jesus stood before the governor, and the governor questioned Him, saying," Are You the King of the Jews?" And Jesus said to him," It is as you say." Mat|27|11|ὁ δὲ ἰησοῦς ἐστάθη ἔμπροσθεν τοῦ ἡγεμόνος· καὶ ἐπηρώτησεν αὐτὸν ὁ ἡγεμὼν λέγων, σὺ εἶ ὁ βασιλεὺς τῶν ἰουδαίων; ὁ δὲ ἰησοῦς ἔφη, σὺ λέγεις.
Mat 27:12 And when he was accused of the chief priests and elders, he answered nothing. (kjv) Mat 27:12 And while He was being accused by the chief priests and elders, He did not answer. Mat|27|12|καὶ ἐν τῶ κατηγορεῖσθαι αὐτὸν ὑπὸ τῶν ἀρχιερέων καὶ πρεσβυτέρων οὐδὲν ἀπεκρίνατο.
Mat 27:13 Then said Pilate unto him, Hearest thou not how many things they witness against thee? (kjv) Mat 27:13 Then Pilate said to Him," Do You not hear how many things they testify against You?" Mat|27|13|τότε λέγει αὐτῶ ὁ πιλᾶτος, οὐκ ἀκούεις πόσα σου καταμαρτυροῦσιν;
Mat 27:14 And he answered him to never a word; insomuch that the governor marvelled greatly. (kjv) Mat 27:14 And He did not answer him with regard to even a single charge, so the governor was quite amazed. Mat|27|14|καὶ οὐκ ἀπεκρίθη αὐτῶ πρὸς οὐδὲ ἓν ῥῆμα, ὥστε θαυμάζειν τὸν ἡγεμόνα λίαν.
Mat 27:15 Now at that feast the governor was wont to release unto the people a prisoner, whom they would. (kjv) Mat 27:15 Now at the feast the governor was accustomed to release for the people any one prisoner whom they wanted. Mat|27|15|κατὰ δὲ ἑορτὴν εἰώθει ὁ ἡγεμὼν ἀπολύειν ἕνα τῶ ὄχλῳ δέσμιον ὃν ἤθελον.
Mat 27:16 And they had then a notable prisoner, called Barabbas. (kjv) Mat 27:16 At that time they were holding a notorious prisoner, called Barabbas. Mat|27|16|εἶχον δὲ τότε δέσμιον ἐπίσημον λεγόμενον [ἰησοῦν] βαραββᾶν.
Mat 27:17 Therefore when they were gathered together, Pilate said unto them, Whom will ye that I release unto you? Barabbas, or Jesus which is called Christ? (kjv) Mat 27:17 So when the people gathered together, Pilate said to them," Whom do you want me to release for you? Barabbas, or Jesus who is called Christ?" Mat|27|17|συνηγμένων οὗν αὐτῶν εἶπεν αὐτοῖς ὁ πιλᾶτος, τίνα θέλετε ἀπολύσω ὑμῖν, [ἰησοῦν τὸν] βαραββᾶν ἢ ἰησοῦν τὸν λεγόμενον χριστόν;
Mat 27:18 For he knew that for envy they had delivered him. (kjv) Mat 27:18 For he knew that because of envy they had handed Him over. Mat|27|18|ᾔδει γὰρ ὅτι διὰ φθόνον παρέδωκαν αὐτόν.
Mat 27:19 When he was set down on the judgment seat, his wife sent unto him, saying, Have thou nothing to do with that just man: for I have suffered many things this day in a dream because of him. (kjv) Mat 27:19 While he was sitting on the judgment seat, his wife sent him a message, saying," Have nothing to do with that righteous Man; for last night I suffered greatly in a dream because of Him." Mat|27|19|καθημένου δὲ αὐτοῦ ἐπὶ τοῦ βήματος ἀπέστειλεν πρὸς αὐτὸν ἡ γυνὴ αὐτοῦ λέγουσα, μηδὲν σοὶ καὶ τῶ δικαίῳ ἐκείνῳ, πολλὰ γὰρ ἔπαθον σήμερον κατ᾽ ὄναρ δι᾽ αὐτόν.
Mat 27:20 But the chief priests and elders persuaded the multitude that they should ask Barabbas, and destroy Jesus. (kjv) Mat 27:20 But the chief priests and the elders persuaded the crowds to ask for Barabbas and to put Jesus to death. Mat|27|20|οἱ δὲ ἀρχιερεῖς καὶ οἱ πρεσβύτεροι ἔπεισαν τοὺς ὄχλους ἵνα αἰτήσωνται τὸν βαραββᾶν τὸν δὲ ἰησοῦν ἀπολέσωσιν.
Mat 27:21 The governor answered and said unto them, Whether of the twain will ye that I release unto you? They said, Barabbas. (kjv) Mat 27:21 But the governor said to them," Which of the two do you want me to release for you?" And they said," Barabbas." Mat|27|21|ἀποκριθεὶς δὲ ὁ ἡγεμὼν εἶπεν αὐτοῖς, τίνα θέλετε ἀπὸ τῶν δύο ἀπολύσω ὑμῖν; οἱ δὲ εἶπαν, τὸν βαραββᾶν.
Mat 27:22 Pilate saith unto them, What shall I do then with Jesus which is called Christ? They all say unto him, Let him be crucified. (kjv) Mat 27:22 Pilate said to them," Then what shall I do with Jesus who is called Christ?" They all said," Crucify Him!" Mat|27|22|λέγει αὐτοῖς ὁ πιλᾶτος, τί οὗν ποιήσω ἰησοῦν τὸν λεγόμενον χριστόν; λέγουσιν πάντες, σταυρωθήτω.
Mat 27:23 And the governor said, Why, what evil hath he done? But they cried out the more, saying, Let him be crucified. (kjv) Mat 27:23 And he said," Why, what evil has He done?" But they kept shouting all the more, saying," Crucify Him!" Mat|27|23|ὁ δὲ ἔφη, τί γὰρ κακὸν ἐποίησεν; οἱ δὲ περισσῶς ἔκραζον λέγοντες, σταυρωθήτω.
Mat 27:24 When Pilate saw that he could prevail nothing, but that rather a tumult was made, he took water, and washed his hands before the multitude, saying, I am innocent of the blood of this just person: see ye to it. (kjv) Mat 27:24 When Pilate saw that he was accomplishing nothing, but rather that a riot was starting, he took water and washed his hands in front of the crowd, saying," I am innocent of this Man's blood; see to that yourselves." Mat|27|24|ἰδὼν δὲ ὁ πιλᾶτος ὅτι οὐδὲν ὠφελεῖ ἀλλὰ μᾶλλον θόρυβος γίνεται, λαβὼν ὕδωρ ἀπενίψατο τὰς χεῖρας ἀπέναντι τοῦ ὄχλου, λέγων, ἀθῶός εἰμι ἀπὸ τοῦ αἵματος τούτου· ὑμεῖς ὄψεσθε.
Mat 27:25 Then answered all the people, and said, His blood be on us, and on our children. (kjv) Mat 27:25 And all the people said," His blood shall be on us and on our children!" Mat|27|25|καὶ ἀποκριθεὶς πᾶς ὁ λαὸς εἶπεν, τὸ αἷμα αὐτοῦ ἐφ᾽ ἡμᾶς καὶ ἐπὶ τὰ τέκνα ἡμῶν.
Mat 27:26 Then released he Barabbas unto them: and when he had scourged Jesus, he delivered him to be crucified. (kjv) Mat 27:26 Then he released Barabbas for them; but after having Jesus scourged, he handed Him over to be crucified. Mat|27|26|τότε ἀπέλυσεν αὐτοῖς τὸν βαραββᾶν, τὸν δὲ ἰησοῦν φραγελλώσας παρέδωκεν ἵνα σταυρωθῇ.
Mat 27:27 Then the soldiers of the governor took Jesus into the common hall, and gathered unto him the whole band of soldiers. (kjv) Mat 27:27 Then the soldiers of the governor took Jesus into the Praetorium and gathered the whole Roman cohort around Him. Mat|27|27|τότε οἱ στρατιῶται τοῦ ἡγεμόνος παραλαβόντες τὸν ἰησοῦν εἰς τὸ πραιτώριον συνήγαγον ἐπ᾽ αὐτὸν ὅλην τὴν σπεῖραν.
Mat 27:28 And they stripped him, and put on him a scarlet robe. (kjv) Mat 27:28 They stripped Him and put a scarlet robe on Him. Mat|27|28|καὶ ἐκδύσαντες αὐτὸν χλαμύδα κοκκίνην περιέθηκαν αὐτῶ,
Mat 27:29 And when they had platted a crown of thorns, they put it upon his head, and a reed in his right hand: and they bowed the knee before him, and mocked him, saying, Hail, King of the Jews! (kjv) Mat 27:29 And after twisting together a crown of thorns, they put it on His head, and a reed in His right hand; and they knelt down before Him and mocked Him, saying," Hail, King of the Jews!" Mat|27|29|καὶ πλέξαντες στέφανον ἐξ ἀκανθῶν ἐπέθηκαν ἐπὶ τῆς κεφαλῆς αὐτοῦ καὶ κάλαμον ἐν τῇ δεξιᾷ αὐτοῦ, καὶ γονυπετήσαντες ἔμπροσθεν αὐτοῦ ἐνέπαιξαν αὐτῶ λέγοντες, χαῖρε, βασιλεῦ τῶν ἰουδαίων,
Mat 27:30 And they spit upon him, and took the reed, and smote him on the head. (kjv) Mat 27:30 They spat on Him, and took the reed and began to beat Him on the head. Mat|27|30|καὶ ἐμπτύσαντες εἰς αὐτὸν ἔλαβον τὸν κάλαμον καὶ ἔτυπτον εἰς τὴν κεφαλὴν αὐτοῦ.
Mat 27:31 And after that they had mocked him, they took the robe off from him, and put his own raiment on him, and led him away to crucify him. (kjv) Mat 27:31 After they had mocked Him, they took the scarlet robe off Him and put His own garments back on Him, and led Him away to crucify Him. Mat|27|31|καὶ ὅτε ἐνέπαιξαν αὐτῶ, ἐξέδυσαν αὐτὸν τὴν χλαμύδα καὶ ἐνέδυσαν αὐτὸν τὰ ἱμάτια αὐτοῦ, καὶ ἀπήγαγον αὐτὸν εἰς τὸ σταυρῶσαι.
Mat 27:32 And as they came out, they found a man of Cyrene, Simon by name: him they compelled to bear his cross. (kjv) Mat 27:32 As they were coming out, they found a man of Cyrene named Simon, whom they pressed into service to bear His cross. Mat|27|32|ἐξερχόμενοι δὲ εὖρον ἄνθρωπον κυρηναῖον ὀνόματι σίμωνα· τοῦτον ἠγγάρευσαν ἵνα ἄρῃ τὸν σταυρὸν αὐτοῦ.
Mat 27:33 And when they were come unto a place called Golgotha, that is to say, a place of a skull, (kjv) Mat 27:33 And when they came to a place called Golgotha, which means Place of a Skull, Mat|27|33|καὶ ἐλθόντες εἰς τόπον λεγόμενον γολγοθᾶ, ὅ ἐστιν κρανίου τόπος λεγόμενος,
Mat 27:34 They gave him vinegar to drink mingled with gall: and when he had tasted thereof, he would not drink. (kjv) Mat 27:34 they gave Him wine to drink mixed with gall; and after tasting it, He was unwilling to drink. Mat|27|34|ἔδωκαν αὐτῶ πιεῖν οἶνον μετὰ χολῆς μεμιγμένον· καὶ γευσάμενος οὐκ ἠθέλησεν πιεῖν.
Mat 27:35 And they crucified him, and parted his garments, casting lots: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, They parted my garments among them, and upon my vesture did they cast lots. (kjv) Mat 27:35 And when they had crucified Him, they divided up His garments among themselves by casting lots. Mat|27|35|σταυρώσαντες δὲ αὐτὸν διεμερίσαντο τὰ ἱμάτια αὐτοῦ βάλλοντες κλῆρον,
Mat 27:36 And sitting down they watched him there; (kjv) Mat 27:36 And sitting down, they began to keep watch over Him there. Mat|27|36|καὶ καθήμενοι ἐτήρουν αὐτὸν ἐκεῖ.
Mat 27:37 And set up over his head his accusation written, THIS IS JESUS THE KING OF THE JEWS. (kjv) Mat 27:37 And above His head they put up the charge against Him which read," THIS IS JESUS THE KING OF THE JEWS." Mat|27|37|καὶ ἐπέθηκαν ἐπάνω τῆς κεφαλῆς αὐτοῦ τὴν αἰτίαν αὐτοῦ γεγραμμένην· οὖτός ἐστιν ἰησοῦς ὁ βασιλεῦς τῶν ἰουδαίων.
Mat 27:38 Then were there two thieves crucified with him, one on the right hand, and another on the left. (kjv) Mat 27:38 At that time two robbers were crucified with Him, one on the right and one on the left. Mat|27|38|τότε σταυροῦνται σὺν αὐτῶ δύο λῃσταί, εἷς ἐκ δεξιῶν καὶ εἷς ἐξ εὐωνύμων.
Mat 27:39 And they that passed by reviled him, wagging their heads, (kjv) Mat 27:39 And those passing by were hurling abuse at Him, wagging their heads Mat|27|39|οἱ δὲ παραπορευόμενοι ἐβλασφήμουν αὐτὸν κινοῦντες τὰς κεφαλὰς αὐτῶν
Mat 27:40 And saying, Thou that destroyest the temple, and buildest it in three days, save thyself. If thou be the Son of God, come down from the cross. (kjv) Mat 27:40 and saying," You who are going to destroy the temple and rebuild it in three days, save Yourself! If You are the Son of God, come down from the cross." Mat|27|40|καὶ λέγοντες, ὁ καταλύων τὸν ναὸν καὶ ἐν τρισὶν ἡμέραις οἰκοδομῶν, σῶσον σεαυτόν, εἰ υἱὸς εἶ τοῦ θεοῦ, [καὶ] κατάβηθι ἀπὸ τοῦ σταυροῦ.
Mat 27:41 Likewise also the chief priests mocking him, with the scribes and elders, said, (kjv) Mat 27:41 In the same way the chief priests also, along with the scribes and elders, were mocking Him and saying, Mat|27|41|ὁμοίως καὶ οἱ ἀρχιερεῖς ἐμπαίζοντες μετὰ τῶν γραμματέων καὶ πρεσβυτέρων ἔλεγον,
Mat 27:42 He saved others; himself he cannot save. If he be the King of Israel, let him now come down from the cross, and we will believe him. (kjv) Mat 27:42 "He saved others; He cannot save Himself. He is the King of Israel; let Him now come down from the cross, and we will believe in Him. Mat|27|42|ἄλλους ἔσωσεν, ἑαυτὸν οὐ δύναται σῶσαι· βασιλεὺς ἰσραήλ ἐστιν, καταβάτω νῦν ἀπὸ τοῦ σταυροῦ καὶ πιστεύσομεν ἐπ᾽ αὐτόν.
Mat 27:43 He trusted in God; let him deliver him now, if he will have him: for he said, I am the Son of God. (kjv) Mat 27:43 He trusts in God; let God rescue Him now, if He delights in Him; for He said, 'I am the Son of God. '" Mat|27|43|πέποιθεν ἐπὶ τὸν θεόν, ῥυσάσθω νῦν εἰ θέλει αὐτόν· εἶπεν γὰρ ὅτι θεοῦ εἰμι υἱός.
Mat 27:44 The thieves also, which were crucified with him, cast the same in his teeth. (kjv) Mat 27:44 The robbers who had been crucified with Him were also insulting Him with the same words. Mat|27|44|τὸ δ᾽ αὐτὸ καὶ οἱ λῃσταὶ οἱ συσταυρωθέντες σὺν αὐτῶ ὠνείδιζον αὐτόν.
Mat 27:45 Now from the sixth hour there was darkness over all the land unto the ninth hour. (kjv) Mat 27:45 Now from the sixth hour darkness fell upon all the land until the ninth hour. Mat|27|45|ἀπὸ δὲ ἕκτης ὥρας σκότος ἐγένετο ἐπὶ πᾶσαν τὴν γῆν ἕως ὥρας ἐνάτης.
Mat 27:46 And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? that is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? (kjv) Mat 27:46 About the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice, saying," Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani?" that is," My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?" Mat|27|46|περὶ δὲ τὴν ἐνάτην ὥραν ἀνεβόησεν ὁ ἰησοῦς φωνῇ μεγάλῃ λέγων, ηλι ηλι λεμα σαβαχθανι; τοῦτ᾽ ἔστιν, θεέ μου θεέ μου, ἱνατί με ἐγκατέλιπες;
Mat 27:47 Some of them that stood there, when they heard that, said, This man calleth for Elias. (kjv) Mat 27:47 And some of those who were standing there, when they heard it, began saying," This man is calling for Elijah." Mat|27|47|τινὲς δὲ τῶν ἐκεῖ ἑστηκότων ἀκούσαντες ἔλεγον ὅτι ἠλίαν φωνεῖ οὖτος.
Mat 27:48 And straightway one of them ran, and took a spunge, and filled it with vinegar, and put it on a reed, and gave him to drink. (kjv) Mat 27:48 Immediately one of them ran, and taking a sponge, he filled it with sour wine and put it on a reed, and gave Him a drink. Mat|27|48|καὶ εὐθέως δραμὼν εἷς ἐξ αὐτῶν καὶ λαβὼν σπόγγον πλήσας τε ὄξους καὶ περιθεὶς καλάμῳ ἐπότιζεν αὐτόν.
Mat 27:49 The rest said, Let be, let us see whether Elias will come to save him. (kjv) Mat 27:49 But the rest of them said," Let us see whether Elijah will come to save Him." Mat|27|49|οἱ δὲ λοιποὶ ἔλεγον, ἄφες ἴδωμεν εἰ ἔρχεται ἠλίας σώσων αὐτόν.
Mat 27:50 Jesus, when he had cried again with a loud voice, yielded up the ghost. (kjv) Mat 27:50 And Jesus cried out again with a loud voice, and yielded up His spirit. Mat|27|50|ὁ δὲ ἰησοῦς πάλιν κράξας φωνῇ μεγάλῃ ἀφῆκεν τὸ πνεῦμα.
Mat 27:51 And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent; (kjv) Mat 27:51 And behold, the veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom; and the earth shook and the rocks were split. Mat|27|51|καὶ ἰδοὺ τὸ καταπέτασμα τοῦ ναοῦ ἐσχίσθη ἀπ᾽ ἄνωθεν ἕως κάτω εἰς δύο, καὶ ἡ γῆ ἐσείσθη, καὶ αἱ πέτραι ἐσχίσθησαν,
Mat 27:52 And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose, (kjv) Mat 27:52 The tombs were opened, and many bodies of the saints who had fallen asleep were raised; Mat|27|52|καὶ τὰ μνημεῖα ἀνεῴχθησαν καὶ πολλὰ σώματα τῶν κεκοιμημένων ἁγίων ἠγέρθησαν,
Mat 27:53 And came out of the graves after his resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared unto many. (kjv) Mat 27:53 and coming out of the tombs after His resurrection they entered the holy city and appeared to many. Mat 27:63 Saying, Sir, we remember that that deceiver said, while he was yet alive, After three days I will rise again. Mat 27:64 Command therefore that the sepulchre be made sure until the third day, lest his disciples come by night, and steal him away, and say unto the people, He is risen from the dead: so the last error shall be worse than the first. Mat 27:65 Pilate said unto them, Ye have a watch: go your way, make it as sure as ye can. (kjv) Mat 27:65 Pilate said to them," You have a guard; go, make it as secure as you know how." Mat|27|65|ἔφη αὐτοῖς ὁ πιλᾶτος, ἔχετε κουστωδίαν· ὑπάγετε ἀσφαλίσασθε ὡς οἴδατε.

Mat 28:1 In the end of the sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the sepulchre. Mat 28:5 And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified. (kjv) Mat 28:5 The angel said to the women," Do not be afraid; for I know that you are looking for Jesus who has been crucified. Mat 28:7 And go quickly, and tell his disciples that he is risen from the dead; and, behold, he goeth before you into Galilee; there shall ye see him: lo, I have told you. Mat 28:8 And they departed quickly from the sepulchre with fear and great joy; and did run to bring his disciples word. (kjv) Mat 28:8 And they left the tomb quickly with fear and great joy and ran to report it to His disciples. Mat 28:9 And as they went to tell his disciples, behold, Jesus met them, saying, All hail. And they came and held him by the feet, and worshipped him. Mat 28:10 Then said Jesus unto them, Be not afraid: go tell my brethren that they go into Galilee, and there shall they see me. (kjv) Mat 28:10 Then Jesus said to them," Do not be afraid; go and take word to My brethren to leave for Galilee, and there they will see Me." Mat 28:11 Now when they were going, behold, some of the watch came into the city, and shewed unto the chief priests all the things that were done. Mat 28:13 Saying, Say ye, His disciples came by night, and stole him away while we slept. (kjv) Mat 28:13 and said," You are to say, 'His disciples came by night and stole Him away while we were asleep. ' Mat|28|13|λέγοντες, εἴπατε ὅτι οἱ μαθηταὶ αὐτοῦ νυκτὸς ἐλθόντες ἔκλεψαν αὐτὸν ἡμῶν κοιμωμένων.
Mat 28:14 And if this come to the governor's ears, we will persuade him, and secure you. (kjv) Mat 28:14 And if this should come to the governor's ears, we will win him over and keep you out of trouble." Mat|28|14|καὶ ἐὰν ἀκουσθῇ τοῦτο ἐπὶ τοῦ ἡγεμόνος, ἡμεῖς πείσομεν [αὐτὸν] καὶ ὑμᾶς ἀμερίμνους ποιήσομεν.
Mat 28:15 So they took the money, and did as they were taught: and this saying is commonly reported among the Jews until this day. Mat 28:16 Then the eleven disciples went away into Galilee, into a mountain where Jesus had appointed them.
