Day - 296 - Luke 5-6
Luk 5:1 And it came to pass, that, as the people pressed upon him to hear the word of God, he stood by the lake of Gennesaret, Luk 5:1 Now it happened that while the crowd was pressing around Him and listening to the word of God, He was standing by the lake of Gennesaret; Luk|5|1|ἐγένετο δὲ ἐν τῶ τὸν ὄχλον ἐπικεῖσθαι αὐτῶ καὶ ἀκούειν τὸν λόγον τοῦ θεοῦ καὶ αὐτὸς ἦν ἑστὼς παρὰ τὴν λίμνην γεννησαρέτ,
Luk 5:2 And saw two ships standing by the lake: but the fishermen were gone out of them, and were washing their nets. Luk 5:2 and He saw two boats lying at the edge of the lake; but the fishermen had gotten out of them and were washing their nets.
Luk 5:3 And he entered into one of the ships, which was Simon's, and prayed him that he would thrust out a little from the land. And he sat down, and taught the people out of the ship. Luk 5:3 And He got into one of the boats, which was Simon's, and asked him to put out a little way from the land. And He sat down and began teaching the people from the boat.
Luk 5:4 Now when he had left speaking, he said unto Simon, Launch out into the deep, and let down your nets for a draught. Luk 5:4 When He had finished speaking, He said to Simon," Put out into the deep water and let down your nets for a catch."
Luk 5:5 And Simon answering said unto him, Master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing: nevertheless at thy word I will let down the net. Luk 5:5 Simon answered and said," Master, we worked hard all night and caught nothing, but I will do as You say and let down the nets."
Luk 5:6 And when they had this done, they inclosed a great multitude of fishes: and their net brake. Luk 5:6 When they had done this, they enclosed a great quantity of fish, and their nets began to break; Luk|5|6|καὶ τοῦτο ποιήσαντες συνέκλεισαν πλῆθος ἰχθύων πολύ, διερρήσσετο δὲ τὰ δίκτυα αὐτῶν.
Luk 5:7 And they beckoned unto their partners, which were in the other ship, that they should come and help them. And they came, and filled both the ships, so that they began to sink. Luk 5:7 so they signaled to their partners in the other boat for them to come and help them. And they came and filled both of the boats, so that they began to sink.
Luk 5:8 When Simon Peter saw it, he fell down at Jesus' knees, saying, Depart from me; for I am a sinful man, O Lord. Luk 5:8 But when Simon Peter saw that, he fell down at Jesus' feet, saying," Go away from me Lord, for I am a sinful man!"
Luk 5:9 For he was astonished, and all that were with him, at the draught of the fishes which they had taken: Luk 5:9 For amazement had seized him and all his companions because of the catch of fish which they had taken; Luk|5|9|θάμβος γὰρ περιέσχεν αὐτὸν καὶ πάντας τοὺς σὺν αὐτῶ ἐπὶ τῇ ἄγρᾳ τῶν ἰχθύων ὧν συνέλαβον,
Luk 5:10 And so was also James, and John, the sons of Zebedee, which were partners with Simon. And Jesus said unto Simon, Fear not; from henceforth thou shalt catch men. Luk 5:10 and so also were James and John, sons of Zebedee, who were partners with Simon. And Jesus said to Simon," Do not fear, from now on you will be catching men."
Luk 5:11 And when they had brought their ships to land, they forsook all, and followed him. Luk 5:11 When they had brought their boats to land, they left everything and followed Him.
Luk 5:12 And it came to pass, when he was in a certain city, behold a man full of leprosy: who seeing Jesus fell on his face, and besought him, saying, Lord, if thou wilt, thou canst make me clean. Luk 5:12 While He was in one of the cities, behold, there was a man covered with leprosy; and when he saw Jesus, he fell on his face and implored Him, saying," Lord, if You are willing, You can make me clean."
Luk 5:13 And he put forth his hand, and touched him, saying, I will: be thou clean. And immediately the leprosy departed from him. Luk 5:13 And He stretched out His hand and touched him, saying," I am willing; be cleansed." And immediately the leprosy left him.
Luk 5:14 And he charged him to tell no man: but go, and shew thyself to the priest, and offer for thy cleansing, according as Moses commanded, for a testimony unto them. Luk 5:14 And He ordered him to tell no one," But go and show yourself to the priest and make an offering for your cleansing, just as Moses commanded, as a testimony to them."
Luk 5:15 But so much the more went there a fame abroad of him: and great multitudes came together to hear, and to be healed by him of their infirmities. Luk 5:15 But the news about Him was spreading even farther, and large crowds were gathering to hear Him and to be healed of their sicknesses.
Luk 5:16 And he withdrew himself into the wilderness, and prayed. Luk 5:16 But Jesus Himself would often slip away to the wilderness and pray.
Luk 5:17 And it came to pass on a certain day, as he was teaching, that there were Pharisees and doctors of the law sitting by, which were come out of every town of Galilee, and Judaea, and Jerusalem: and the power of the Lord was present to heal them. Luk 5:17 One day He was teaching; and there were some Pharisees and teachers of the law sitting there, who had come from every village of Galilee and Judea and from Jerusalem; and the power of the Lord was present for Him to perform healing.
Luk 5:18 And, behold, men brought in a bed a man which was taken with a palsy: and they sought means to bring him in, and to lay him before him. Luk 5:18 And some men were carrying on a bed a man who was paralyzed; and they were trying to bring him in and to set him down in front of Him.
Luk 5:19 And when they could not find by what way they might bring him in because of the multitude, they went upon the housetop, and let him down through the tiling with his couch into the midst before Jesus. Luk 5:19 But not finding any way to bring him in because of the crowd, they went up on the roof and let him down through the tiles with his stretcher, into the middle of the crowd, in front of Jesus.
Luk 5:20 And when he saw their faith, he said unto him, Man, thy sins are forgiven thee. Luk 5:20 Seeing their faith, He said," Friend, your sins are forgiven you."
Luk 5:21 And the scribes and the Pharisees began to reason, saying, Who is this which speaketh blasphemies? Who can forgive sins, but God alone? Luk 5:21 The scribes and the Pharisees began to reason, saying," Who is this man who speaks blasphemies? Who can forgive sins, but God alone?" Luk|5|21|καὶ ἤρξαντο διαλογίζεσθαι οἱ γραμματεῖς καὶ οἱ φαρισαῖοι λέγοντες, τίς ἐστιν οὖτος ὃς λαλεῖ βλασφημίας; τίς δύναται ἁμαρτίας ἀφεῖναι εἰ μὴ μόνος ὁ θεός;
Luk 5:22 But when Jesus perceived their thoughts, he answering said unto them, What reason ye in your hearts? Luk 5:22 But Jesus, aware of their reasonings, answered and said to them," Why are you reasoning in your hearts? Luk|5|22|ἐπιγνοὺς δὲ ὁ ἰησοῦς τοὺς διαλογισμοὺς αὐτῶν ἀποκριθεὶς εἶπεν πρὸς αὐτούς, τί διαλογίζεσθε ἐν ταῖς καρδίαις ὑμῶν;
Luk 5:23 Whether is easier, to say, Thy sins be forgiven thee; or to say, Rise up and walk? Luk 5:23 Which is easier, to say, 'Your sins have been forgiven you, 'or to say, 'Get up and walk'? Luk|5|23|τί ἐστιν εὐκοπώτερον, εἰπεῖν, ἀφέωνταί σοι αἱ ἁμαρτίαι σου, ἢ εἰπεῖν, ἔγειρε καὶ περιπάτει;
Luk 5:24 But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power upon earth to forgive sins, (he said unto the sick of the palsy,) I say unto thee, Arise, and take up thy couch, and go into thine house. Luk 5:24 But, so that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins,"" He said to the paralytic"" I say to you, get up, and pick up your stretcher and go home."
Luk 5:25 And immediately he rose up before them, and took up that whereon he lay, and departed to his own house, glorifying God. Luk 5:25 Immediately he got up before them, and picked up what he had been lying on, and went home glorifying God.
Luk 5:26 And they were all amazed, and they glorified God, and were filled with fear, saying, We have seen strange things to day. Luk 5:26 They were all struck with astonishment and began glorifying God; and they were filled with fear, saying," We have seen remarkable things today."
Luk 5:27 And after these things he went forth, and saw a publican, named Levi, sitting at the receipt of custom: and he said unto him, Follow me. Luk 5:27 After that He went out and noticed a tax collector named Levi sitting in the tax booth, and He said to him," Follow Me."
Luk 5:28 And he left all, rose up, and followed him. Luk 5:28 And he left everything behind, and got up and began to follow Him.
Luk 5:29 And Levi made him a great feast in his own house: and there was a great company of publicans and of others that sat down with them. Luk 5:29 And Levi gave a big reception for Him in his house; and there was a great crowd of tax collectors and other people who were reclining at the table with them.
Luk 5:30 But their scribes and Pharisees murmured against his disciples, saying, Why do ye eat and drink with publicans and sinners? Luk 5:30 The Pharisees and their scribes began grumbling at His disciples, saying," Why do you eat and drink with the tax collectors and sinners?" Luk|5|30|καὶ ἐγόγγυζον οἱ φαρισαῖοι καὶ οἱ γραμματεῖς αὐτῶν πρὸς τοὺς μαθητὰς αὐτοῦ λέγοντες, διὰ τί μετὰ τῶν τελωνῶν καὶ ἁμαρτωλῶν ἐσθίετε καὶ πίνετε;
Luk 5:31 And Jesus answering said unto them, They that are whole need not a physician; but they that are sick. Luk 5:31 And Jesus answered and said to them," It is not those who are well who need a physician, but those who are sick.
Luk 5:32 I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance. Luk 5:32 I have not come to call the righteous but sinners to repentance."
Luk 5:33 And they said unto him, Why do the disciples of John fast often, and make prayers, and likewise the disciples of the Pharisees; but thine eat and drink? Luk 5:33 And they said to Him," The disciples of John often fast and offer prayers, the disciples of the Pharisees also do the same, but Yours eat and drink."
Luk 5:34 And he said unto them, Can ye make the children of the bridechamber fast, while the bridegroom is with them? Luk 5:34 And Jesus said to them," You cannot make the attendants of the bridegroom fast while the bridegroom is with them, can you? Luk|5|34|ὁ δὲ ἰησοῦς εἶπεν πρὸς αὐτούς, μὴ δύνασθε τοὺς υἱοὺς τοῦ νυμφῶνος ἐν ᾧ ὁ νυμφίος μετ᾽ αὐτῶν ἐστιν ποιῆσαι νηστεῦσαι;
Luk 5:35 But the days will come, when the bridegroom shall be taken away from them, and then shall they fast in those days. Luk 5:35 But the days will come; and when the bridegroom is taken away from them, then they will fast in those days."
Luk 5:36 And he spake also a parable unto them; No man putteth a piece of a new garment upon an old; if otherwise, then both the new maketh a rent, and the piece that was taken out of the new agreeth not with the old. Luk 5:36 And He was also telling them a parable." No one tears a piece of cloth from a new garment and puts it on an old garment; otherwise he will both tear the new, and the piece from the new will not match the old.
Luk 5:37 And no man putteth new wine into old bottles; else the new wine will burst the bottles, and be spilled, and the bottles shall perish. Luk 5:37 And no one puts new wine into old wineskins; otherwise the new wine will burst the skins and it will be spilled out, and the skins will be ruined.
Luk 5:38 But new wine must be put into new bottles; and both are preserved. Luk 5:38 But new wine must be put into fresh wineskins.
Luk 5:39 No man also having drunk old wine straightway desireth new: for he saith, The old is better. Luk 5:39 And no one, after drinking old wine wishes for new; for he says, 'The old is good enough.
Luk 6:1 And it came to pass on the second sabbath after the first, that he went through the corn fields; and his disciples plucked the ears of corn, and did eat, rubbing them in their hands. Luk 6:1 Now it happened that He was passing through some grainfields on a Sabbath; and His disciples were picking the heads of grain, rubbing them in their hands, and eating the grain.
Luk 6:2 And certain of the Pharisees said unto them, Why do ye that which is not lawful to do on the sabbath days? Luk 6:2 But some of the Pharisees said," Why do you do what is not lawful on the Sabbath?" Luk|6|2|τινὲς δὲ τῶν φαρισαίων εἶπαν, τί ποιεῖτε ὃ οὐκ ἔξεστιν τοῖς σάββασιν;
Luk 6:3 And Jesus answering them said, Have ye not read so much as this, what David did, when himself was an hungred, and they which were with him; Luk 6:3 And Jesus answering them said," Have you not even read what David did when he was hungry, he and those who were with him, Luk|6|3|καὶ ἀποκριθεὶς πρὸς αὐτοὺς εἶπεν ὁ ἰησοῦς, οὐδὲ τοῦτο ἀνέγνωτε ὃ ἐποίησεν δαυὶδ ὅτε ἐπείνασεν αὐτὸς καὶ οἱ μετ᾽ αὐτοῦ [ὄντες];
Luk 6:4 How he went into the house of God, and did take and eat the shewbread, and gave also to them that were with him; which it is not lawful to eat but for the priests alone? Luk 6:4 how he entered the house of God, and took and ate the consecrated bread which is not lawful for any to eat except the priests alone, and gave it to his companions?" Luk|6|4|[ὡς] εἰσῆλθεν εἰς τὸν οἶκον τοῦ θεοῦ καὶ τοὺς ἄρτους τῆς προθέσεως λαβὼν ἔφαγεν καὶ ἔδωκεν τοῖς μετ᾽ αὐτοῦ, οὓς οὐκ ἔξεστιν φαγεῖν εἰ μὴ μόνους τοὺς ἱερεῖς;
Luk 6:5 And he said unto them, That the Son of man is Lord also of the sabbath. Luk 6:5 And He was saying to them," The Son of Man is Lord of the Sabbath."
Luk 6:6 And it came to pass also on another sabbath, that he entered into the synagogue and taught: and there was a man whose right hand was withered. Luk 6:6 On another Sabbath He entered the synagogue and was teaching; and there was a man there whose right hand was withered.
Luk 6:7 And the scribes and Pharisees watched him, whether he would heal on the sabbath day; that they might find an accusation against him. Luk 6:7 The scribes and the Pharisees were watching Him closely to see if He healed on the Sabbath, so that they might find reason to accuse Him.
Luk 6:8 But he knew their thoughts, and said to the man which had the withered hand, Rise up, and stand forth in the midst. And he arose and stood forth. Luk 6:8 But He knew what they were thinking, and He said to the man with the withered hand," Get up and come forward!" And he got up and came forward.
Luk 6:9 Then said Jesus unto them, I will ask you one thing; Is it lawful on the sabbath days to do good, or to do evil? to save life, or to destroy it? Luk 6:9 And Jesus said to them," I ask you, is it lawful to do good or to do harm on the Sabbath, to save a life or to destroy it?" Luk|6|9|εἶπεν δὲ ὁ ἰησοῦς πρὸς αὐτούς, ἐπερωτῶ ὑμᾶς, εἰ ἔξεστιν τῶ σαββάτῳ ἀγαθοποιῆσαι ἢ κακοποιῆσαι, ψυχὴν σῶσαι ἢ ἀπολέσαι;
Luk 6:10 And looking round about upon them all, he said unto the man, Stretch forth thy hand. And he did so: and his hand was restored whole as the other. Luk 6:10 After looking around at them all, He said to him," Stretch out your hand!" And he did so; and his hand was restored.
Luk 6:11 And they were filled with madness; and communed one with another what they might do to Jesus. Luk 6:11 But they themselves were filled with rage, and discussed together what they might do to Jesus.
Luk 6:12 And it came to pass in those days, that he went out into a mountain to pray, and continued all night in prayer to God. Luk 6:12 It was at this time that He went off to the mountain to pray, and He spent the whole night in prayer to God.
Luk 6:13 And when it was day, he called unto him his disciples: and of them he chose twelve, whom also he named apostles; Luk 6:13 And when day came, He called His disciples to Him and chose twelve of them, whom He also named as apostles: Luk|6|13|καὶ ὅτε ἐγένετο ἡμέρα, προσεφώνησεν τοὺς μαθητὰς αὐτοῦ, καὶ ἐκλεξάμενος ἀπ᾽ αὐτῶν δώδεκα, οὓς καὶ ἀποστόλους ὠνόμασεν,
Luk 6:14 Simon, (whom he also named Peter,) and Andrew his brother, James and John, Philip and Bartholomew, Luk 6:14 Simon, whom He also named Peter, and Andrew his brother; and James and John; and Philip and Bartholomew; Luk|6|14|σίμωνα, ὃν καὶ ὠνόμασεν πέτρον, καὶ ἀνδρέαν τὸν ἀδελφὸν αὐτοῦ, καὶ ἰάκωβον καὶ ἰωάννην καὶ φίλιππον καὶ βαρθολομαῖον
Luk 6:15 Matthew and Thomas, James the son of Alphaeus, and Simon called Zelotes, Luk 6:15 and Matthew and Thomas; James the son of Alphaeus, and Simon who was called the Zealot; Luk|6|15|καὶ μαθθαῖον καὶ θωμᾶν καὶ ἰάκωβον ἁλφαίου καὶ σίμωνα τὸν καλούμενον ζηλωτὴν
Luk 6:16 And Judas the brother of James, and Judas Iscariot, which also was the traitor. Luk 6:16 Judas the son of James, and Judas Iscariot, who became a traitor.
Luk 6:17 And he came down with them, and stood in the plain, and the company of his disciples, and a great multitude of people out of all Judaea and Jerusalem, and from the sea coast of Tyre and Sidon, which came to hear him, and to be healed of their diseases; Luk 6:17 Jesus came down with them and stood on a level place; and there was a large crowd of His disciples, and a great throng of people from all Judea and Jerusalem and the coastal region of Tyre and Sidon, Luk|6|17|καὶ καταβὰς μετ᾽ αὐτῶν ἔστη ἐπὶ τόπου πεδινοῦ, καὶ ὄχλος πολὺς μαθητῶν αὐτοῦ, καὶ πλῆθος πολὺ τοῦ λαοῦ ἀπὸ πάσης τῆς ἰουδαίας καὶ ἰερουσαλὴμ καὶ τῆς παραλίου τύρου καὶ σιδῶνος,
Luk 6:18 And they that were vexed with unclean spirits: and they were healed. Luk 6:18 who had come to hear Him and to be healed of their diseases; and those who were troubled with unclean spirits were being cured.
Luk 6:19 And the whole multitude sought to touch him: for there went virtue out of him, and healed them all. Luk 6:19 And all the people were trying to touch Him, for power was coming from Him and healing them all.
Luk 6:20 And he lifted up his eyes on his disciples, and said, Blessed be ye poor: for yours is the kingdom of God. Luk 6:20 And turning His gaze toward His disciples, He began to say," Blessed are you who are poor, for yours is the kingdom of God.
Luk 6:21 Blessed are ye that hunger now: for ye shall be filled. Blessed are ye that weep now: for ye shall laugh. Luk 6:21 Blessed are you who hunger now, for you shall be satisfied. Blessed are you who weep now, for you shall laugh.
Luk 6:22 Blessed are ye, when men shall hate you, and when they shall separate you from their company, and shall reproach you, and cast out your name as evil, for the Son of man's sake. Luk 6:22 Blessed are you when men hate you, and ostracize you, and insult you, and scorn your name as evil, for the sake of the Son of Man.
Luk 6:23 Rejoice ye in that day, and leap for joy: for, behold, your reward is great in heaven: for in the like manner did their fathers unto the prophets. Luk 6:23 Be glad in that day and leap for joy, for behold, your reward is great in heaven. For in the same way their fathers used to treat the prophets.
Luk 6:24 But woe unto you that are rich! for ye have received your consolation. Luk 6:24 But woe to you who are rich, for you are receiving your comfort in full.
Luk 6:25 Woe unto you that are full! for ye shall hunger. Woe unto you that laugh now! for ye shall mourn and weep. Luk 6:25 Woe to you who are well-fed now, for you shall be hungry. Woe to you who laugh now, for you shall mourn and weep.
Luk 6:26 Woe unto you, when all men shall speak well of you! for so did their fathers to the false prophets. Luk 6:26 Woe to you when all men speak well of you, for their fathers used to treat the false prophets in the same way.
Luk 6:27 But I say unto you which hear, Love your enemies, do good to them which hate you, Luk 6:27 "But I say to you who hear, love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, Luk|6|27|ἀλλὰ ὑμῖν λέγω τοῖς ἀκούουσιν, ἀγαπᾶτε τοὺς ἐχθροὺς ὑμῶν, καλῶς ποιεῖτε τοῖς μισοῦσιν ὑμᾶς,
Luk 6:28 Bless them that curse you, and pray for them which despitefully use you. Luk 6:28 bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you.
Luk 6:29 And unto him that smiteth thee on the one cheek offer also the other; and him that taketh away thy cloak forbid not to take thy coat also. Luk 6:29 Whoever hits you on the cheek, offer him the other also; and whoever takes away your coat, do not withhold your shirt from him either.
Luk 6:30 Give to every man that asketh of thee; and of him that taketh away thy goods ask them not again. Luk 6:30 Give to everyone who asks of you, and whoever takes away what is yours, do not demand it back.
Luk 6:31 And as ye would that men should do to you, do ye also to them likewise. Luk 6:31 Treat others the same way you want them to treat you.
Luk 6:32 For if ye love them which love you, what thank have ye? for sinners also love those that love them. Luk 6:32 If you love those who love you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners love those who love them.
Luk 6:33 And if ye do good to them which do good to you, what thank have ye? for sinners also do even the same. Luk 6:33 If you do good to those who do good to you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners do the same.
Luk 6:34 And if ye lend to them of whom ye hope to receive, what thank have ye? for sinners also lend to sinners, to receive as much again. Luk 6:34 If you lend to those from whom you expect to receive, what credit is that to you? Even sinners lend to sinners in order to receive back the same amount.
Luk 6:35 But love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be the children of the Highest: for he is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil. Luk 6:35 But love your enemies, and do good, and lend, expecting nothing in return; and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High; for He Himself is kind to ungrateful and evil men.
Luk 6:36 Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful. Luk 6:36 Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful.
Luk 6:37 Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven: Luk 6:37 "Do not judge, and you will not be judged; and do not condemn, and you will not be condemned; pardon, and you will be pardoned.
Luk 6:38 Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again. Luk 6:38 Give, and it will be given to you. They will pour into your lap a good measure"pressed down, shaken together, and running over. For by your standard of measure it will be measured to you in return."
Luk 6:39 And he spake a parable unto them, Can the blind lead the blind? shall they not both fall into the ditch? Luk 6:39 And He also spoke a parable to them." A blind man cannot guide a blind man, can he? Will they not both fall into a pit? Luk|6|39|εἶπεν δὲ καὶ παραβολὴν αὐτοῖς· μήτι δύναται τυφλὸς τυφλὸν ὁδηγεῖν; οὐχὶ ἀμφότεροι εἰς βόθυνον ἐμπεσοῦνται;
Luk 6:40 The disciple is not above his master: but every one that is perfect shall be as his master. Luk 6:40 A pupil is not above his teacher; but everyone, after he has been fully trained, will be like his teacher.
Luk 6:41 And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but perceivest not the beam that is in thine own eye? Luk 6:41 Why do you look at the speck that is in your brother's eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye? Luk|6|41|τί δὲ βλέπεις τὸ κάρφος τὸ ἐν τῶ ὀφθαλμῶ τοῦ ἀδελφοῦ σου, τὴν δὲ δοκὸν τὴν ἐν τῶ ἰδίῳ ὀφθαλμῶ οὐ κατανοεῖς;
Luk 6:42 Either how canst thou say to thy brother, Brother, let me pull out the mote that is in thine eye, when thou thyself beholdest not the beam that is in thine own eye? Thou hypocrite, cast out first the beam out of thine own eye, and then shalt thou see clearly to pull out the mote that is in thy brother's eye. Luk 6:42 Or how can you say to your brother, 'Brother, let me take out the speck that is in your eye, 'when you yourself do not see the log that is in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take out the speck that is in your brother's eye.
Luk 6:43 For a good tree bringeth not forth corrupt fruit; neither doth a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. Luk 6:43 For there is no good tree which produces bad fruit, nor, on the other hand, a bad tree which produces good fruit.
Luk 6:44 For every tree is known by his own fruit. For of thorns men do not gather figs, nor of a bramble bush gather they grapes. Luk 6:44 For each tree is known by its own fruit. For men do not gather figs from thorns, nor do they pick grapes from a briar bush.
Luk 6:45 A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh. Luk 6:45 The good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth what is good; and the evil man out of the evil treasure brings forth what is evil; for his mouth speaks from that which fills his heart.
Luk 6:46 And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say? Luk 6:46 "Why do you call Me, 'Lord, Lord, 'and do not do what I say? Luk|6|46|τί δέ με καλεῖτε, κύριε κύριε, καὶ οὐ ποιεῖτε ἃ λέγω;
Luk 6:47 Whosoever cometh to me, and heareth my sayings, and doeth them, I will shew you to whom he is like: Luk 6:47 Everyone who comes to Me and hears My words and acts on them, I will show you whom he is like: Luk|6|47|πᾶς ὁ ἐρχόμενος πρός με καὶ ἀκούων μου τῶν λόγων καὶ ποιῶν αὐτούς, ὑποδείξω ὑμῖν τίνι ἐστὶν ὅμοιος·
Luk 6:48 He is like a man which built an house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock. Luk 6:48 he is like a man building a house, who dug deep and laid a foundation on the rock; and when a flood occurred, the torrent burst against that house and could not shake it, because it had been well built.
Luk 6:49 But he that heareth, and doeth not, is like a man that without a foundation built an house upon the earth; against which the stream did beat vehemently, and immediately it fell; and the ruin of that house was great. Luk 6:49 But the one who has heard and has not acted accordingly, is like a man who built a house on the ground without any foundation; and the torrent burst against it and immediately it collapsed, and the ruin of that house was great."
