The new pedal came in (box shows the P/N now level "L") the old pedal was level "H". What is fascinating is that the little PC board with thick film carbon traces on it literally floats in the depression that holds it, the pressure of the "fingers" of the beryllium bronze contacts that go to the plug connector are all that keep it in place. What is more, from what I see, VW could sell you a new thick film PC board and you could just pop out the old one and put in the new one (but of course you can only buy the whole pedal assy.) Not sure why the old one kept giving intermittent failures. Maybe the compound simply wore out after 126K miles and the brush fingers had some intermittent contacts that made the computer go to the default setting? The unit was totally dry and sealed, I have heard folks say that it fails when moisture gets inside. In any event, thought you would like to see what an "accelerate by wire" pedal looks like inside seeing you too have a TDI. Cheers, Edward
