(Hebrew) 1 ׃79 מִזְמ֗וֹר לְאָ֫סָ֥ף אֱֽלֹהִ֡ים בָּ֤אוּ גוֹיִ֨ם ׀ בְּֽנַחֲלָתֶ֗ךָ טִ֭מְּאוּ אֶת־הֵיכַ֣ל קָדְשֶׁ֑ךָ שָׂ֖מוּ אֶת־יְרוּשָׁלַ֣͏ִם לְעִיִּֽים׃ Psalms -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Psa 79:1 O God, the nations have invaded Your inheritance; They have defiled Your holy temple; They have laid Jerusalem in ruins.(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Psalm 79:2---- (Hebrew) 2 ׃79 נָֽתְנ֡וּ אֶת־נִבְלַ֬ת עֲבָדֶ֗יךָ מַ֭אֲכָל לְע֣וֹף הַשָּׁמָ֑יִם בְּשַׂ֥ר חֲ֝סִידֶ֗יךָ לְחַיְתוֹ־אָֽרֶץ׃ Psalms -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Psa 79:2 They have given the dead bodies of Your servants for food to the birds of the heavens, The flesh of Your godly ones to the beasts of the earth.(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Psalm 79:3---- (Hebrew) 3 ׃79 שָׁפְכ֬וּ דָמָ֨ם ׀ כַּמַּ֗יִם סְֽבִ֘יב֤וֹת יְֽרוּשָׁלִָ֗ם וְאֵ֣ין קוֹבֵֽר׃ Psalms -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Psa 79:3 They have poured out their blood like water round about Jerusalem; And there was no one to bury them.(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Psalm 79:4---- (Hebrew) 4 ׃79 הָיִ֣ינוּ חֶ֭רְפָּה לִשְׁכֵנֵ֑ינוּ לַ֥עַג וָ֝קֶ֗לֶס לִסְבִיבוֹתֵֽינוּ׃ Psalms -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Psa 79:4 We have become a reproach to our neighbors, A scoffing and derision to those around us.(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Psalm 79:5---- (Hebrew) 5 ׃79 עַד־מָ֣ה יְ֭הוָה תֶּאֱנַ֣ף לָנֶ֑צַח תִּ֭[t]בְעַ֥ר כְּמוֹ־אֵ֝֗שׁ קִנְאָתֶֽךָ׃ Psalms -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Psa 79:5 How long, O Lord? Will You be angry forever? Will Your jealousy burn like fire?(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Psalm 79:6---- (Hebrew) 6 ׃79 שְׁפֹ֤ךְ חֲמָתְךָ֗ אֶֽל־הַגּוֹיִם֮ אֲשֶׁ֢ר לֹא־יְדָ֫ע֥וּךָ וְעַ֥ל מַמְלָכ֑וֹת אֲשֶׁ֥ר בְּ֝שִׁמְךָ֗ לֹ֣א קָרָֽאוּ׃ Psalms -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Psa 79:6 Pour out Your wrath upon the nations which do not know You, And upon the kingdoms which do not call upon Your name.(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Psalm 79:7---- (Hebrew) 7 ׃79 כִּ֭י אָכַ֣ל אֶֽת־יַעֲקֹ֑ב וְֽאֶת־נָוֵ֥הוּ הֵשַֽׁמּוּ׃ Psalms -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Psa 79:7 For they have devoured Jacob And laid waste his habitation.(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Psalm 79:8---- (Hebrew) 8 ׃79 אַֽל־תִּזְכָּר־לָנוּ֮ עֲוֺנֹ֢ת רִאשֹׁ֫נִ֥ים מַ֭הֵר יְקַדְּמ֣וּנוּ רַחֲמֶ֑יךָ כִּ֖י דַלּ֣וֹנוּ מְאֹֽד׃ Psalms -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Psa 79:8 Do not remember the iniquities of our forefathers against us; Let Your compassion come quickly to meet us, For we are brought very low.(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Psalm 79:9---- (Hebrew) 9 ׃79 עָזְרֵ֤נוּ ׀ אֱלֹ֘הֵ֤י יִשְׁעֵ֗נוּ עַל־דְּבַ֥ר כְּבֽוֹד־שְׁמֶ֑ךָ וְהַצִּילֵ֥נוּ וְכַפֵּ֥ר עַל־חַ֝טֹּאתֵ֗ינוּ לְמַ֣עַן שְׁמֶֽךָ׃ Psalms -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Psa 79:9 Help us, O God of our salvation, for the glory of Your name; And deliver us and forgive our sins for Your name's sake.(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Psalm 79:10---- (Hebrew) 10 ׃79 לָ֤מָּה ׀ יֹאמְר֣וּ הַגּוֹיִם֮ אַיֵּ֢ה אֱֽלֹהֵ֫יהֶ֥ם יִוָּדַ֣ע *בגיים **בַּגּוֹיִ֣ם לְעֵינֵ֑ינוּ נִ֝קְמַ֗ת דַּֽם־עֲבָדֶ֥יךָ הַשָּׁפֽוּךְ׃ Psalms -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Psa 79:10 Why should the nations say, "Where is their God?"
