(Hebrew) אָז בָּאוּ לִפְנֵי יֵשׁוּעַ פְּרוּשִׁים וְסוֹפְרִים מִירוּשָׁלַיִם לֵאמֹר׃ א Matthew -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mat 15:1 Then some Pharisees and scribes came to Jesus from Jerusalem and said,(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Matthew 15:2---- (Hebrew) מַדּוּעַ יַעַזְבוּ תַלְמִידֶיךָ אֵת קַבָּלַת הַזְּקֵנִים כִּי לֹא יִרְחֲצוּ אֶת־יְדֵיהֶם לַאֲכִילַת לָחֶם׃ ב Matthew -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mat 15:2 "Why do Your disciples break the tradition of the elders? For they do not wash their hands when they eat bread."(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Matthew 15:3---- (Hebrew) וַיַּעַן וַיֹּאמֶר אֲלֵיהֶם וּמַדּוּעַ תַּעַזְבוּ גַם־אַתֶּם אֶת־מִצְוַת אֱלֹהִים בַּעֲבוּר קַבָּלַתְכֶם׃ ג Matthew -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mat 15:3 And He answered and said to them, "Why do you yourselves transgress the commandment of God for the sake of your tradition?(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Matthew 15:4---- (Hebrew) כִּי אֱלֹהִים צִוָּה לֵאמֹר כַּבֵּד אֶת־אָבִיךָ וְאֶת־אִמֶּךָ וּמְקַלֵּל אָבִיו וְאִמּוֹ מוֹת יוּמָת׃ ד Matthew -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mat 15:4 For God said, 'Honor your father and mother, 'and, 'He who speaks evil of father or mother is to be put to death.'(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Matthew 15:5---- (Hebrew) וְאַתֶּם אֹמְרִים אִישׁ כִּי־יֹאמַר לְאָבִיו אוֹ לְאִמּוֹ קָרְבָּן כָּל־הֲנָאָה אֲשֶׁר תֶּהֱנֶה מִמֶּנִּי הֲרֵי זֶה נֶדֶר׃ ה Matthew -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mat 15:5 But you say, 'Whoever says to his father or mother, "Whatever I have that would help you has been given to God,"(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Matthew 15:6---- (Hebrew) וְאֵין עָלָיו לְכַבֵּד עוֹד אֶת־אָבִיו וְאֶת־אִמּוֹ וְהֵפַרְתֶּם אֶת־מִצְוַת אֱלֹהִים בְּקַבָּלַתְכֶם׃ ו Matthew -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mat 15:6 he is not to honor his father or his mother.' And by this you invalidated the word of God for the sake of your tradition.(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Matthew 15:7---- (Hebrew) חַנְפֵי־לֵב הֵיטֵב נִבָּא עֲלֵיכֶם יְשַׁעְיָהוּ לֵאמֹר׃ ז Matthew -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mat 15:7 You hypocrites, rightly did Isaiah prophesy of you:(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Matthew 15:8---- (Hebrew) הָעָם הַזֶּה בְּפִּיו וּבִשְׂפָתָיו כִּבְּדוּנִי וְלִבּוֹ רִחַק מִמֶּנִּי׃ ח Matthew -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mat 15:8 'THIS PEOPLE HONORS ME WITH THEIR LIPS, BUT THEIR HEART IS FAR AWAY FROM ME.(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Matthew 15:9---- (Hebrew) וְתֹהוּ יִרְאָתָם אֹתִי מִצְוֹת אֲנָשִׁים מְלַמְּדִים׃ ט Matthew -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mat 15:9 'BUT IN VAIN DO THEY WORSHIP ME, TEACHING AS DOCTRINES THE PRECEPTS OF MEN.'"(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Matthew 15:10---- (Hebrew) וַיִּקְרָא אֶל־הָעָם וַיֹּאמֶר אֲלֵיהֶם שִׁמְעוּ וְהַשְׂכִּילוּ׃ י Matthew -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mat 15:10 After Jesus called the crowd to Him, He said to them, "Hear and understand.(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Matthew 15:11---- (Hebrew) אֲשֶׁר יָבֹא אֶל־תּוֹךְ הַפֶּה לֹא יְטַמֵּא אֶת־הָאָדָם אֶפֶס אֲשֶׁר יֵצֵא מִתּוֹךְ הַפֶּה הוּא יְטַמֵּא אֶת־הָאָדָם׃ יא Matthew -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mat 15:11 It is not what enters into the mouth that defiles the man, but what proceeds out of the mouth, this defiles the man."(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Matthew 15:12---- (Hebrew) וַיִּגְּשׁוּ אֵלָיו תַּלְמִידָיו וַיֹּאמְרוּ הֲיָדַעְתָּ כִּי נִכְשְׁלוּ הַפְּרוּשִׁים בְּשָׁמְעָם הַדָּבָר הַזֶּה׃ יב Matthew -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mat 15:12 Then the disciples came and said to Him, "Do You know that the Pharisees were offended when they heard this statement?"(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Matthew 15:13---- (Hebrew) וַיַּעַן וַיֹּאמַר כָּל־מַטָּע אֲשֶׁר אָבִי בַּשָּׁמַיִם לֹא נְטָעוֹ יְשֹׁרָשׁ׃ יג Matthew -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mat 15:13 But He answered and said, "Every plant which My heavenly Father did not plant shall be uprooted.(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Matthew 15:14---- (Hebrew) הַנִּיחוּ לָהֶם הֵם עִוְרִים מְנַהֲלִים לְעִוְרִים וְכִי עִוֵּר מְנַהֵל לְעִוֵּר שְׁנֵיהֶם יִפְּלוּ אֶל־הַבּוֹר׃ יד Matthew -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mat 15:14 Let them alone; they are blind guides of the blind. And if a blind man guides a blind man, both will fall into a pit."(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Matthew 15:15---- (Hebrew) וַיַּעַן פֶּטְרוֹס וַיֹּאמֶר אֵלָיו בָּאֶר־לָנוּ אֶת־הַמָּשָׁל הַזֶּה׃ טו Matthew -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mat 15:15 Peter said to Him, "Explain the parable to us."(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Matthew 15:16---- (Hebrew) וַיֹּאמַר יֵשׁוּעַ הֲכִי גַם־אַתֶּם עוֹד בִּבְלִי בִינָה׃ טז Matthew -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mat 15:16 Jesus said, "Are you still lacking in understanding also?(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Matthew 15:17---- (Hebrew) הֲלֹא תַשְׂכִּילוּ כִּי כָל־אֲשֶׁר יָבֹא אֶל־תּוֹךְ הַפֶּה יֵרֵד אֶל־הַכָּרֵשׂ וּמִשָּׁם יֵצֵא הַפַּרְשְׁדֹנָה׃ יז Matthew -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mat 15:17 Do you not understand that everything that goes into the mouth passes into the stomach, and is eliminated?(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Matthew 15:18---- (Hebrew) אַךְ הַיֹּצֵא מִתּוֹךְ הַפֶּה יָבֹא מִתּוֹךְ הַלֵּב וְהוּא יְטַמֵּא אֶת־הָאָדָם׃ יח Matthew -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mat 15:18 But the things that proceed out of the mouth come from the heart, and those defile the man.(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Matthew 15:19---- (Hebrew) כִּי מִתּוֹךְ הַלֵּב יֵצְאוּ יִצְרֵי מַחְשְׁבוֹת רָעוֹת רָצֹחַ נָאֹף וְזָנֹה גָּנֹב עֵדוּת שֶׁקֶר וְגִדּוּפִים׃ יט Matthew -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mat 15:19 For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, slanders.(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Matthew 15:20---- (Hebrew) אֵלֶּה הֵם אֲשֶׁר יְטַמְּאוּ אֶת־הָאָדָם אַךְ אָכוֹל בְּיָדַיִם אֲשֶׁר לֹא רֻחֲצוּ לֹא יְטַמֵּא אֶת־הָאָדָם׃ כ Matthew -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mat 15:20 These are the things which defile the man; but to eat with unwashed hands does not defile the man."(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Matthew 15:21---- (Hebrew) וַיֵּצֵא יֵשׁוּעַ מִשָּׁם וַיָּבֹא אֶל־גְּלִילוֹת צוֹר וְצִידוֹן׃ כא Matthew -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mat 15:21 Jesus went away from there, and withdrew into the district of Tyre and Sidon.(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Matthew 15:22---- (Hebrew) וְהִנֵּה אִשָּׁה כְּנַעֲנִית יֹצֵאת מִגְּבוּלוֹת הָהֵם וַתִּצְעַק אֵלָיו לֵאמֹר חָנֵּנִי אֲדֹנִי בֶּן־דָּוִד בִּתִּי רוּחַ רָעָה בָּהּ וְעָנְיָהּ מֹרֶה מְאֹד׃ כב Matthew -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mat 15:22 And a Canaanite woman from that region came out and began to cry out, saying, "Have mercy on me, Lord, Son of David; my daughter is cruelly demon-possessed."(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Matthew 15:23---- (Hebrew) וְלֹא־עָנָה אֹתָהּ דָּבָר וַיִּגְּשׁוּ תַלְמִידָיו וַיְבַקְשׁוּ מִלְּפָנָיו לֵאמֹר שַׁלַּח אֹתָהּ כִּי־צֹעֶקֶת הִיא אַחֲרֵינוּ׃ כג Matthew -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mat 15:23 But He did not answer her a word. And His disciples came and implored Him, saying, "Send her away, because she keeps shouting at us."(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Matthew 15:24---- (Hebrew) וַיַּעַן וַיֹּאמַר לֹא שֻׁלַּחְתִּי כִּי אִם־לְצֹאן אֹבְדוֹת לְבֵית יִשְׂרָאֵל׃ כד Matthew -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mat 15:24 But He answered and said, "I was sent only to the lost sheep of the house of Israel."(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Matthew 15:25---- (Hebrew) וְהִיא בָאָה וַתִּשְׁתַּחוּ לוֹ לֵאמֹר הוֹשִׁיעָה לִּי אֲדֹנִי׃ כה Matthew -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mat 15:25 But she came and began to bow down before Him, saying, "Lord, help me!"(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Matthew 15:26---- (Hebrew) וַיַּעַן וַיֹּאמַר לֹא־נָכוֹן לָקַחַת אֶת־לֶחֶם הַבָּנִים וּלְהַשְׁלִיכוֹ לִפְנֵי הַכְּלָבִים׃ כו Matthew -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mat 15:26 And He answered and said, "It is not good to take the children's bread and throw it to the dogs."(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Matthew 15:27---- (Hebrew) וַתֹּאמַר כֵּן אֲדֹנִי אֶפֶס גַּם־הַכְּלָבִים יֹאכְלוּן מִן־הַפְּתוֹתִים הַנֹּפְלִים מֵעַל־שֻׁלְחַן אֲדֹנֵיהֶם׃ כז Matthew -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mat 15:27 But she said, "Yes, Lord; but even the dogs feed on the crumbs which fall from their masters' table."(NASB-1995) ================================================================================ ---- Matthew 15:28---- (Hebrew) וַיַּעַן יֵשׁוּעַ וַיֹּאמֶר אֵלֶיהָ אִשָּׁה גְּדוֹלָה אֱמוּנָתֵךְ יְהִי־לָךְ כַּאֲשֶׁר עִם־לְבָבֵךְ וַתֵּרָפֵא בִתָּהּ בָּעֵת הַהִיא׃ כח Matthew -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mat 15:28 Then Jesus said to her, "O woman, your faith is great; it shall be done for you as you wish."
