Jeremiah 31


Jer 31:1 "At that time," declares the Lord, "I will be the God of all the families of Israel, and they shall be My people."
Jer 31:2 Thus says the Lord, "The people who survived the sword Found grace in the wilderness-- Israel, when it went to find its rest."
Jer 31:3 The Lord appeared to him from afar, saying, "I have loved you with an everlasting love; Therefore I have drawn you with lovingkindness.
Jer 31:4 "Again I will build you and you will be rebuilt, O virgin of Israel! Again you will take up your tambourines, And go forth to the dances of the merrymakers.
Jer 31:5 "Again you will plant vineyards On the hills of Samaria; The planters will plant And will enjoy them.
Jer 31:6 "For there will be a day when watchmen On the hills of Ephraim call out, 'Arise, and let us go up to Zion, To the Lord our God.'"
Jer 31:7 For thus says the Lord, "Sing aloud with gladness for Jacob, And shout among the chief of the nations; Proclaim, give praise and say, 'O Lord, save Your people, The remnant of Israel.'
Jer 31:8 "Behold, I am bringing them from the north country, And I will gather them from the remote parts of the earth, Among them the blind and the lame, The woman with child and she who is in labor with child, together; A great company, they will return here.
Jer 31:9 "With weeping they will come, And by supplication I will lead them; I will make them walk by streams of waters, On a straight path in which they will not stumble; For I am a father to Israel, And Ephraim is My firstborn."
Jer 31:10 Hear the word of the Lord, O nations, And declare in the coastlands afar off, And say, "He who scattered Israel will gather him And keep him as a shepherd keeps his flock."
Jer 31:11 For the Lord has ransomed Jacob And redeemed him from the hand of him who was stronger than he.
Jer 31:12 "They will come and shout for joy on the height of Zion, And they will be radiant over the bounty of the Lord - Over the grain and the new wine and the oil, And over the young of the flock and the herd; And their life will be like a watered garden, And they will never languish again.
Jer 31:13 "Then the virgin will rejoice in the dance, And the young men and the old, together, For I will turn their mourning into joy And will comfort them and give them joy for their sorrow.
Jer 31:14 "I will fill the soul of the priests with abundance, And My people will be satisfied with My goodness," declares the Lord.
Jer 31:15 Thus says the Lord, "A voice is heard in Ramah, Lamentation and bitter weeping. Rachel is weeping for her children; She refuses to be comforted for her children, Because they are no more."
Jer 31:16 Thus says the Lord, "Restrain your voice from weeping And your eyes from tears; For your work will be rewarded," declares the Lord, "And they will return from the land of the enemy.
Jer 31:17 "There is hope for your future," declares the Lord, "And your children will return to their own territory.
Jer 31:18 "I have surely heard Ephraim grieving, 'You have chastised me, and I was chastised, Like an untrained calf; Bring me back that I may be restored, For You are the Lord my God.
Jer 31:19 'For after I turned back, I repented; And after I was instructed, I smote on my thigh; I was ashamed and also humiliated Because I bore the reproach of my youth.'
Jer 31:20 "Is Ephraim My dear son? Is he a delightful child? Indeed, as often as I have spoken against him, I certainly still remember him; Therefore My heart yearns for him; I will surely have mercy on him," declares the Lord.
Jer 31:21 "Set up for yourself roadmarks, Place for yourself guideposts; Direct your mind to the highway, The way by which you went. Return, O virgin of Israel, Return to these your cities.
Jer 31:22 "How long will you go here and there, O faithless daughter? For the Lord has created a new thing in the earth-- A woman will encompass a man."
Jer 31:23 Thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel, "Once again they will speak this word in the land of Judah and in its cities when I restore their fortunes, 'The Lord bless you, O abode of righteousness, O holy hill!'
Jer 31:24 Judah and all its cities will dwell together in it, the farmer and they who go about with flocks.
Jer 31:25 For I satisfy the weary ones and refresh everyone who languishes."
Jer 31:26 At this I awoke and looked, and my sleep was pleasant to me.
Jer 31:27 "Behold, days are coming," declares the Lord, "when I will sow the house of Israel and the house of Judah with the seed of man and with the seed of beast.
Jer 31:28 As I have watched over them to pluck up, to break down, to overthrow, to destroy and to bring disaster, so I will watch over them to build and to plant," declares the Lord.
Jer 31:29 "In those days they will not say again, 'The fathers have eaten sour grapes, And the children's teeth are set on edge.'
Jer 31:30 But everyone will die for his own iniquity; each man who eats the sour grapes, his teeth will be set on edge.
Jer 31:31 "Behold, days are coming," declares the Lord, "when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah,
Jer 31:32 not like the covenant which I made with their fathers in the day I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt, My covenant which they broke, although I was a husband to them," declares the Lord.
Jer 31:33 "But this is the covenant which I will make with the house of Israel after those days," declares the Lord, "I will put My law within them and on their heart I will write it; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people.
Jer 31:34 They will not teach again, each man his neighbor and each man his brother, saying, 'Know the Lord,' for they will all know Me, from the least of them to the greatest of them," declares the Lord, "for I will forgive their iniquity, and their sin I will remember no more."
Jer 31:35 Thus says the Lord, Who gives the sun for light by day And the fixed order of the moon and the stars for light by night, Who stirs up the sea so that its waves roar; The Lord of hosts is His name:
Jer 31:36 "If this fixed order departs From before Me," declares the Lord, "Then the offspring of Israel also will cease From being a nation before Me forever."
Jer 31:37 Thus says the Lord, "If the heavens above can be measured And the foundations of the earth searched out below, Then I will also cast off all the offspring of Israel For all that they have done," declares the Lord.
Jer 31:38 "Behold, days are coming," declares the Lord, "when the city will be rebuilt for the Lord from the Tower of Hananel to the Corner Gate.
Jer 31:39 The measuring line will go out farther straight ahead to the hill Gareb; then it will turn to Goah.
Jer 31:40 And the whole valley of the dead bodies and of the ashes, and all the fields as far as the brook Kidron, to the corner of the Horse Gate toward the east, shall be holy to the Lord; it will not be plucked up or overthrown anymore forever."

Jer 31:1 At the same time, saith the LORD, will I be the God of all the families of Israel, and they shall be my people. Jer 31:1 "At that time," declares the Lord, "I will be the God of all the families of Israel, and they shall be My people." Jer 31:2 Thus saith the LORD, The people which were left of the sword found grace in the wilderness; even Israel, when I went to cause him to rest. Jer 31:3 The LORD hath appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee. Jer 31:8 Behold, I will bring them from the north country, and gather them from the coasts of the earth, and with them the blind and the lame, the woman with child and her that travaileth with child together: a great company shall return thither. Jer 31 9 They shall come with weeping, and with supplications will I lead them: I will cause them to walk by the rivers of waters in a straight way, wherein they shall not stumble for I am a father to Israel, and Ephraim is my firstborn. Jer 31:10 Hear the word of the LORD, O ye nations, and declare it in the isles afar off, and say, He that scattered Israel will gather him, and keep him, as a shepherd doth his flock. Jer 31:18 I have surely heard Ephraim bemoaning himself thus; Thou hast chastised me, and I was chastised, as a bullock unaccustomed to the yoke: turn thou me, and I shall be turned; for thou art the LORD my God. Jer 31:19 Surely after that I was turned, I repented; and after that I was instructed, I smote upon my thigh: I was ashamed, yea, even confounded, because I did bear the reproach of my youth. Jer 31:19 'For after I turned back, I repented; And after I was instructed, I smote on my thigh; I was ashamed and also humiliated Because I bore the reproach of my youth.' Jer 31:20 Is Ephraim my dear son? is he a pleasant child? for since I spake against him, I do earnestly remember him still: therefore my bowels are troubled for him; I will surely have mercy upon him, saith the LORD. Jer 31:20 "Is Ephraim My dear son? Is he a delightful child? Indeed, as often as I have spoken against him, I certainly still remember him; Therefore My heart yearns for him; I will surely have mercy on him," declares the Lord. Jer 31:20 κατῃσχύνθη Μωαβ ὅτι συνετρίβη ὀλόλυξον καὶ κέκραξον ἀνάγγειλον ἐν Αρνων ὅτι ὤλετο Μωαβ
Jer 31 21 Set thee up waymarks, make thee high heaps: set thine heart toward the highway, even the way which thou wentest turn again, O virgin of Israel, turn again to these thy cities. Jer 31:21 "Set up for yourself roadmarks, Place for yourself guideposts; Direct your mind to the highway, The way by which you went. Return, O virgin of Israel, Return to these your cities. Jer 31:21 καὶ κρίσις ἔρχεται εἰς γῆν τοῦ Μισωρ ἐπὶ Χαιλων καὶ ἐπὶ Ιασσα καὶ ἐπὶ Μωφαθ
Jer 31:22 How long wilt thou go about, O thou backsliding daughter? for the LORD hath created a new thing in the earth, A woman shall compass a man. Jer 31:22 "How long will you go here and there, O faithless daughter? For the Lord has created a new thing in the earth-- A woman will encompass a man." Jer 31:22 καὶ ἐπὶ Δαιβων καὶ ἐπὶ Ναβαυ καὶ ἐπ᾽ οἶκον Δεβλαθαιμ
Jer 31:23 Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; As yet they shall use this speech in the land of Judah and in the cities thereof, when I shall bring again their captivity; The LORD bless thee, O habitation of justice, and mountain of holiness. Jer 31:23 Thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel, "Once again they will speak this word in the land of Judah and in its cities when I restore their fortunes, 'The Lord bless you, O abode of righteousness, O holy hill!' Jer 31:23 καὶ ἐπὶ Καριαθαιμ καὶ ἐπ᾽ οἶκον Γαμωλ καὶ ἐπ᾽ οἶκον Μαων
Jer 31:24 And there shall dwell in Judah itself, and in all the cities thereof together, husbandmen, and they that go forth with flocks. Jer 31:24 Judah and all its cities will dwell together in it, the farmer and they who go about with flocks. Jer 31:24 καὶ ἐπὶ Καριωθ καὶ ἐπὶ Βοσορ καὶ ἐπὶ πάσας τὰς πόλεις Μωαβ τὰς πόρρω καὶ τὰς ἐγγύς
Jer 31:25 For I have satiated the weary soul, and I have replenished every sorrowful soul. Jer 31:25 For I satisfy the weary ones and refresh everyone who languishes." Jer 31:25 κατεάχθη κέρας Μωαβ καὶ τὸ ἐπίχειρον αὐτοῦ συνετρίβη
Jer 31:26 Upon this I awaked, and beheld; and my sleep was sweet unto me. Jer 31:26 At this I awoke and looked, and my sleep was pleasant to me. Jer 31:26 μεθύσατε αὐτόν ὅτι ἐπὶ κύριον ἐμεγαλύνθη καὶ ἐπικρούσει Μωαβ ἐν χειρὶ αὐτοῦ καὶ ἔσται εἰς γέλωτα καὶ αὐτός
Jer 31:27 Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will sow the house of Israel and the house of Judah with the seed of man, and with the seed of beast. Jer 31:27 "Behold, days are coming," declares the Lord, "when I will sow the house of Israel and the house of Judah with the seed of man and with the seed of beast. Jer 31:27 καὶ εἰ μὴ εἰς γελοιασμὸν ἦν σοι Ισραηλ εἰ ἐν κλοπαῖς σου εὑρέθη ὅτι ἐπολέμεις αὐτόν
Jer 31:28 And it shall come to pass, that like as I have watched over them, to pluck up, and to break down, and to throw down, and to destroy, and to afflict; so will I watch over them, to build, and to plant, saith the LORD. Jer 31:28 As I have watched over them to pluck up, to break down, to overthrow, to destroy and to bring disaster, so I will watch over them to build and to plant," declares the Lord. Jer 31:28 κατέλιπον τὰς πόλεις καὶ ᾤκησαν ἐν πέτραις οἱ κατοικοῦντες Μωαβ ἐγενήθησαν ὡς περιστεραὶ νοσσεύουσαι ἐν πέτραις στόματι βοθύνου
Jer 31:29 In those days they shall say no more, The fathers have eaten a sour grape, and the children's teeth are set on edge. Jer 31:29 "In those days they will not say again, 'The fathers have eaten sour grapes, And the children's teeth are set on edge.' Jer:31:29:ἤκουσα ὕβριν Μωαβ ὕβρισεν λίαν ὕβριν αὐτοῦ καὶ ὑπερηφανίαν αὐτοῦ καὶ ὑψώθη ἡ καρδία αὐτοῦ Jer 31:30 ἐγὼ δὲ ἔγνων ἔργα αὐτοῦ οὐχὶ τὸ ἱκανὸν αὐτοῦ οὐχ οὕτως ἐποίησεν
Jer 31:30 But every one shall die for his own iniquity: every man that eateth the sour grape, his teeth shall be set on edge. Jer 31:30 But everyone will die for his own iniquity; each man who eats the sour grapes, his teeth will be set on edge. Jer 31:32 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto them, saith the LORD: Jer 31:32 not like the covenant which I made with their fathers in the day I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt, My covenant which they broke, although I was a husband to them," declares the Lord. Jer:31:35:καὶ ἀπολῶ τὸν Μωαβ φησὶν κύριος ἀναβαίνοντα ἐπὶ βωμὸν καὶ θυμιῶντα θεοῖς αὐτοῦ Jer 31:36 διὰ τοῦτο καρδία μου Μωαβ ὥσπερ αὐλοὶ βομβήσουσιν καρδία μου ἐπ᾽ ἀνθρώπους Κιραδας ὥσπερ αὐλὸς βομβήσει διὰ τοῦτο ἃ περιεποιήσατο ἀπώλετο ἀπὸ ἀνθρώπου
Jer 31:33 But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people. Jer 31:33 "But this is the covenant which I will make with the house of Israel after those days," declares the Lord, "I will put My law within them and on their heart I will write it; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people. Jer 31:37 πᾶσαν κεφαλὴν ἐν παντὶ τόπῳ ξυρήσονται καὶ πᾶς πώγων ξυρηθήσεται καὶ πᾶσαι χεῖρες κόψονται καὶ ἐπὶ πάσης ὀσφύος σάκκος
Jer 31 34 And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the LORD for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more. Jer 31:34 They will not teach again, each man his neighbor and each man his brother, saying, 'Know the Lord,' for they will all know Me, from the least of them to the greatest of them," declares the Lord, "for I will forgive their iniquity, and their sin I will remember no more." Jer 31:38 καὶ ἐπὶ πάντων τῶν δωμάτων Μωαβ καὶ ἐπὶ πλατείαις αὐτῆς ὅτι συνέτριψα τὸν Μωαβ φησὶν κύριος ὡς ἀγγεῖον οὗ οὐκ ἔστιν χρεία αὐτοῦ
Jer 31:35 Thus saith the LORD, which giveth the sun for a light by day, and the ordinances of the moon and of the stars for a light by night, which divideth the sea when the waves thereof roar; The LORD of hosts is his name: Jer 31:35 Thus says the Lord, Who gives the sun for light by day And the fixed order of the moon and the stars for light by night, Who stirs up the sea so that its waves roar; The Lord of hosts is His name: Jer 31:39 πῶς κατήλλαξεν πῶς ἔστρεψεν νῶτον Μωαβ ᾐσχύνθη καὶ ἐγένετο Μωαβ εἰς γέλωτα καὶ ἐγκότημα πᾶσιν τοῖς κύκλῳ αὐτῆς
Jer 31:36 If those ordinances depart from before me, saith the LORD, then the seed of Israel also shall cease from being a nation before me for ever. Jer 31:36 "If this fixed order departs From before Me," declares the Lord, "Then the offspring of Israel also will cease From being a nation before Me forever." Jer 31:40 ὅτι οὕτως εἶπεν κύριος
Jer 31:37 Thus saith the LORD; If heaven above can be measured, and the foundations of the earth searched out beneath, I will also cast off all the seed of Israel for all that they have done, saith the LORD. Jer 31:37 Thus says the Lord, "If the heavens above can be measured And the foundations of the earth searched out below, Then I will also cast off all the offspring of Israel For all that they have done," declares the Lord. Jer 31:41 ἐλήμφθη Ακκαριωθ καὶ τὰ ὀχυρώματα συνελήμφθη
Jer 31:38 Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that the city shall be built to the LORD from the tower of Hananeel unto the gate of the corner. Jer 31:38 "Behold, days are coming," declares the Lord, "when the city will be rebuilt for the Lord from the Tower of Hananel to the Corner Gate. Jer 31:42 καὶ ἀπολεῖται Μωαβ ἀπὸ ὄχλου ὅτι ἐπὶ τὸν κύριον ἐμεγαλύνθη
Jer 31:39 And the measuring line shall yet go forth over against it upon the hill Gareb, and shall compass about to Goath. Jer 31:39 The measuring line will go out farther straight ahead to the hill Gareb; then it will turn to Goah. Jer 31:43 παγὶς καὶ φόβος καὶ βόθυνος ἐπὶ σοί καθήμενος Μωαβ

Jer 31:44 ὁ φεύγων ἀπὸ προσώπου τοῦ φόβου ἐμπεσεῖται εἰς τὸν βόθυνον καὶ ὁ ἀναβαίνων ἐκ τοῦ βοθύνου συλλημφθήσεται ἐν τῇ παγίδι ὅτι ἐπάξω ταῦτα ἐπὶ Μωαβ ἐν ἐνιαυτῷ ἐπισκέψεως αὐτῆς
