So the Lord delivered them into the hand of Midian for seven years,(nkjv) ======= Judges 6:2 ============ Jdg 6:2 The power of Midian prevailed against Israel. Because of Midian the sons of Israel made for themselves the dens which were in the mountains and the caves and the strongholds.(nasb) Jdg 6:2 And the hand of Midian prevailed against Israel: and because of the Midianites the children of Israel made them the dens which are in the mountains, and caves, and strong holds.(kjv) Jdg 6:2 and the hand of Midian prevailed against Israel. But you have not obeyed Me."'" "(nkjv) ======= Judges 6:11 ============ Jdg 6:11 Then the angel of the Lord came and sat under the oak that was in Ophrah, which belonged to Joash the Abiezrite as his son Gideon was beating out wheat in the wine press in order to save it from the Midianites.(nasb) Jdg 6:11 And there came an angel of the LORD, and sat under an oak which was in Ophrah, that pertained unto Joash the Abiezrite: and his son Gideon threshed wheat by the winepress, to hide it from the Midianites.(kjv) Jdg 6:11 Now the Angel of the Lord came and sat under the terebinth tree which was in Ophrah, which belonged to Joash the Abiezrite, while his son Gideon threshed wheat in the winepress, in order to hide it from the Midianites.(nkjv) ======= Judges 6:12 ============ Jdg 6:12 The angel of the Lord appeared to him and said to him, "The Lord is with you, O valiant warrior."(nasb) Jdg 6:12 And the angel of the LORD appeared unto him, and said unto him, The LORD is with thee, thou mighty man of valour.(kjv) Jdg 6:12 And the Angel of the Lord appeared to him, and said to him, "The Lord is with you, you mighty man of valor!"(nkjv) ======= Judges 6:13 ============ Jdg 6:13 Then Gideon said to him, "O my lord, if the Lord is with us, why then has all this happened to us? And where are all His miracles which our fathers told us about, saying, 'Did not the Lord bring us up from Egypt?' But now the Lord has abandoned us and given us into the hand of Midian."(nasb) Jdg 6:13 And Gideon said unto him, Oh my Lord, if the LORD be with us, why then is all this befallen us? and where be all his miracles which our fathers told us of, saying, Did not the LORD bring us up from Egypt? but now the LORD hath forsaken us, and delivered us into the hands of the Midianites.(kjv) Jdg 6:13 Gideon said to Him, "O my lord, if the Lord is with us, why then has all this happened to us? And where are all His miracles which our fathers told us about, saying, 'Did not the Lord bring us up from Egypt?' Behold, my family is the least in Manasseh, and I am the youngest in my father's house."(nasb) Jdg 6:15 And he said unto him, Oh my Lord, wherewith shall I save Israel? behold, my family is poor in Manasseh, and I am the least in my father's house.(kjv) Jdg 6:15 So he said to Him, "O my Lord, how can I save Israel? And He said, "I will remain until you return."(nasb) Jdg 6:18 Depart not hence, I pray thee, until I come unto thee, and bring forth my present, and set it before thee. And he said, I will tarry until thou come again.(kjv) Jdg 6:18 Do not depart from here, I pray, until I come to You and bring out my offering and set it before You." So Gideon said, "Alas, O Lord God! For I have seen the Angel of the Lord face to face."(nkjv) ======= Judges 6:23 ============ Jdg 6:23 The Lord said to him, "Peace to you, do not fear; you shall not die."(nasb) Jdg 6:23 And the LORD said unto him, Peace be unto thee; fear not: thou shalt not die.(kjv) Jdg 6:23 Then the Lord said to him, "Peace be with you; do not fear, you shall not die."(nkjv) ======= Judges 6:24 ============ Jdg 6:24 Then Gideon built an altar there to the Lord and named it The Lord is Peace. To this day it is still in Ophrah of the Abiezrites.(nasb) Jdg 6:24 Then Gideon built an altar there unto the LORD, and called it Jehovahshalom: unto this day it is yet in Ophrah of the Abiezrites.(kjv) Jdg 6:24 So Gideon built an altar there to the Lord, and called it The-Lord-Is-Peace. To this day it is still in Ophrah of the Abiezrites.(nkjv) ======= Judges 6:25 ============ Jdg 6:25 Now on the same night the Lord said to him, "Take your father's bull and a second bull seven years old, and pull down the altar of Baal which belongs to your father, and cut down the Asherah that is beside it;(nasb) Jdg 6:25 And it came to pass the same night, that the LORD said unto him, Take thy father's young bullock, even the second bullock of seven years old, and throw down the altar of Baal that thy father hath, and cut down the grove that is by it:(kjv) Jdg 6:25 Now it came to pass the same night that the Lord said to him, "Take your father's young bull, the second bull of seven years old, and tear down the altar of Baal that your father has, and cut down the wooden image that is beside it;(nkjv) ======= Judges 6:26 ============ Jdg 6:26 and build an altar to the Lord your God on the top of this stronghold in an orderly manner, and take a second bull and offer a burnt offering with the wood of the Asherah which you shall cut down."(nasb) Jdg 6:26 And build an altar unto the LORD thy God upon the top of this rock, in the ordered place, and take the second bullock, and offer a burnt sacrifice with the wood of the grove which thou shalt cut down.(kjv) Jdg 6:26 and build an altar to the Lord your God on top of this rock in the proper arrangement, and take the second bull and offer a burnt sacrifice with the wood of the image which you shall cut down."(nkjv) ======= Judges 6:27 ============ Jdg 6:27 Then Gideon took ten men of his servants and did as the Lord had spoken to him; and because he was too afraid of his father's household and the men of the city to do it by day, he did it by night. If there is dew on the fleece only, and it is dry on all the ground, then I will know that You will deliver Israel through me, as You have spoken."(nasb) Jdg 6:37 Behold, I will put a fleece of wool in the floor; and if the dew be on the fleece only, and it be dry upon all the earth beside, then shall I know that thou wilt save Israel by mine hand, as thou hast said.(kjv) Jdg 6:37 look, I shall put a fleece of wool on the threshing floor; if there is dew on the fleece only, and it is dry on all the ground, then I shall know that You will save Israel by my hand, as You have said."(nkjv) ======= Judges 6:38 ============ Jdg 6:38 And it was so.
