And why should I not be impatient?(nasb) Job 21:4 Numquid contra hominem disputatio mea est, ut merito non debeam contristari?(vulgate) Job 21:4 ¿Acaso me quejo yo ante algún hombre? ¿Y por qué no se ha de angustiar mi espíritu?(E) Job 21:4 Est-ce contre un homme que se dirige ma plainte? Et pourquoi mon âme ne serait-elle pas impatiente?(F) Job 21:4 Handle ich denn mit einem Menschen? oder warum sollte ich ungeduldig sein?(D) Job 21:4 τί γάρ μὴ ἀνθρώπου μου ἡ ἔλεγξις ἢ διὰ τί οὐ θυμωθήσομαι(lxx) Job 21:4 "As for me, is my complaint against man? And if it were, why should I not be impatient?(nkjv) ======= Job 21:5 ============ Job 21:5 "Look at me, and be astonished, And put your hand over your mouth.(nasb) Job 21:5 Attendite me et obstupescite, et superponite digitum ori vestro.(vulgate) Job 21:5 Miradme, y espantaos, y poned la mano sobre la boca.(E) Job 21:5 Regardez-moi, soyez étonnés, Et mettez la main sur la bouche.(F) Job 21:5 Kehrt euch her zu mir; ihr werdet erstarren und die Hand auf den Mund legen müssen.(D) Job 21:5 εἰσβλέψαντες εἰς ἐμὲ θαυμάσατε χεῖρα θέντες ἐπὶ σιαγόνι(lxx) Job 21:5 Look at me and be astonished; Put your hand over your mouth.(nkjv) ======= Job 21:6 ============ Job 21:6 "Even when I remember, I am disturbed, And horror takes hold of my flesh.(nasb) Job 21:6 Et ego, quando recordatus fuero, pertimesco, et concutit carnem meam tremor.(vulgate) Job 21:6 Aun cuando me acuerdo, me asombro, y el estremecimiento se apodera de mi carne.(E) Job 21:6 Quand j'y pense, cela m'épouvante, Et un tremblement saisit mon corps.(F) Job 21:6 Wenn ich daran denke, so erschrecke ich, und Zittern kommt mein Fleisch an.(D) Job 21:6 ἐάν τε γὰρ μνησθῶ ἐσπούδακα ἔχουσιν δέ μου τὰς σάρκας ὀδύναι(lxx) Job 21:6 Even when I remember I am terrified, And trembling takes hold of my flesh.(nkjv) ======= Job 21:7 ============ Job 21:7 "Why do the wicked still live, Continue on, also become very powerful?(nasb) Job 21:7 Quare ergo impii vivunt, sublevati sunt, confortatique divitiis?(vulgate) Job 21:7 ¿Por qué viven los impíos, y se envejecen, y aun crecen en riquezas?(E) Job 21:7 Pourquoi les méchants vivent-ils? Pourquoi les voit-on vieillir et accroître leur force?(F) Job 21:7 Warum leben denn die Gottlosen, werden alt und nehmen zu an Gütern?(D) Job 21:7 διὰ τί ἀσεβεῖς ζῶσιν πεπαλαίωνται δὲ καὶ ἐν πλούτῳ(lxx) Job 21:7 Why do the wicked live and become old, Yes, become mighty in power?(nkjv) ======= Job 21:8 ============ Job 21:8 "Their descendants are established with them in their sight, And their offspring before their eyes,(nasb) Job 21:8 Semen eorum permanet coram eis: propinquorum turba et nepotum in conspectu eorum.(vulgate) Job 21:8 Su simiente es establecida delante de ellos; y sus renuevos delante de sus ojos.(E) Job 21:8 Leur postérité s'affermit avec eux et en leur présence, Leurs rejetons prospèrent sous leurs yeux.(F) Job 21:8 Ihr Same ist sicher um sie her, und ihre Nachkömmlinge sind bei ihnen.(D) Job 21:8 ὁ σπόρος αὐτῶν κατὰ ψυχήν τὰ δὲ τέκνα αὐτῶν ἐν ὀφθαλμοῖς(lxx) Job 21:8 Their descendants are established with them in their sight, And their offspring before their eyes.(nkjv) ======= Job 21:9 ============ Job 21:9 Their houses are safe from fear, And the rod of God is not on them.(nasb) Job 21:9 Domus eorum securæ sunt et pacatæ, et non est virga Dei super illos.(vulgate) Job 21:9 Sus casas están libres de temor, y no hay azote de Dios sobre ellos.(E) Job 21:9 Dans leurs maisons règne la paix, sans mélange de crainte; La verge de Dieu ne vient pas les frapper.(F) Job 21:9 Ihr Haus hat Frieden vor der Furcht, und Gottes Rute ist nicht über ihnen.(D) Job 21:9 οἱ οἶκοι αὐτῶν εὐθηνοῦσιν φόβος δὲ οὐδαμοῦ μάστιξ δὲ παρὰ κυρίου οὐκ ἔστιν ἐπ᾽ αὐτοῖς(lxx) Job 21:9 Their houses are safe from fear, Neither is the rod of God upon them.(nkjv) ======= Job 21:10 ============ Job 21:10 "His ox mates without fail; His cow calves and does not abort.(nasb) Job 21:10 Bos eorum concepit, et non abortivit: vacca peperit, et non est privata fœtu suo.(vulgate) Job 21:10 Sus toros engendran, y no fallan; paren sus vacas, y no malogran su cría.(E) Job 21:10 Leurs taureaux sont vigoureux et féconds, Leurs génisses conçoivent et n'avortent point.(F) Job 21:10 Seinen Stier läßt man zu, und es mißrät ihm nicht; seine Kuh kalbt und ist nicht unfruchtbar.(D) Job 21:10 ἡ βοῦς αὐτῶν οὐκ ὠμοτόκησεν διεσώθη δὲ αὐτῶν ἐν γαστρὶ ἔχουσα καὶ οὐκ ἔσφαλεν(lxx) Job 21:10 Their bull breeds without failure; Their cow calves without miscarriage.(nkjv) ======= Job 21:11 ============ Job 21:11 "They send forth their little ones like the flock, And their children skip about.(nasb) Job 21:11 Egrediuntur quasi greges parvuli eorum, et infantes eorum exultant lusibus.(vulgate) Job 21:11 Sus pequeños salen como manada, y sus hijos van danzando.(E) Job 21:11 Ils laissent courir leurs enfants comme des brebis, Et les enfants prennent leurs ébats.(F) Job 21:11 Ihre jungen Kinder lassen sie ausgehen wie eine Herde, und ihre Knaben hüpfen.(D) Job 21:11 μένουσιν δὲ ὡς πρόβατα αἰώνια τὰ δὲ παιδία αὐτῶν προσπαίζουσιν(lxx) Job 21:11 They send forth their little ones like a flock, And their children dance.(nkjv) ======= Job 21:12 ============ Job 21:12 "They sing to the timbrel and harp And rejoice at the sound of the flute.(nasb) Job 21:12 Tenent tympanum et citharam, et gaudent ad sonitum organi.(vulgate) Job 21:12 Toman el pandero y el arpa, y se regocijan al son de la flauta.(E) Job 21:12 Ils chantent au son du tambourin et de la harpe, Ils se réjouissent au son du chalumeau.(F) Job 21:12 Sie jauchzen mit Pauken und Harfen und sind fröhlich mit Flöten.(D) Job 21:12 ἀναλαβόντες ψαλτήριον καὶ κιθάραν καὶ εὐφραίνονται φωνῇ ψαλμοῦ(lxx) Job 21:12 They sing to the tambourine and harp, And rejoice to the sound of the flute.(nkjv) ======= Job 21:13 ============ Job 21:13 "They spend their days in prosperity, And suddenly they go down to Sheol.(nasb) Job 21:13 Ducunt in bonis dies suos, et in puncto ad inferna descendunt.(vulgate) Job 21:13 Pasan sus días en prosperidad, y en un momento descienden a la sepultura.(E) Job 21:13 Ils passent leurs jours dans le bonheur, Et ils descendent en un instant au séjour des morts.(F) Job 21:13 Sie werden alt bei guten Tagen und erschrecken kaum einen Augenblick vor dem Tode,(D) Job 21:13 συνετέλεσαν δὲ ἐν ἀγαθοῖς τὸν βίον αὐτῶν ἐν δὲ ἀναπαύσει ᾅδου ἐκοιμήθησαν(lxx) Job 21:13 They spend their days in wealth, And in a moment go down to the grave.(nkjv) ======= Job 21:14 ============ Job 21:14 "They say to God, 'Depart from us! We do not even desire the knowledge of Your ways.(nasb) Job 21:14 Qui dixerunt Deo: Recede a nobis, et scientiam viarum tuarum nolumus.(vulgate) Job 21:14 Dicen, pues, a Dios: Apártate de nosotros, pues no queremos el conocimiento de tus caminos.(E) Job 21:14 Ils disaient pourtant à Dieu: Retire-toi de nous; Nous ne voulons pas connaître tes voies.(F) Job 21:14 die doch sagen zu Gott: "Hebe dich von uns, wir wollen von deinen Wegen nicht wissen!(D) Job 21:14 λέγει δὲ κυρίῳ ἀπόστα ἀπ᾽ ἐμοῦ ὁδούς σου εἰδέναι οὐ βούλομαι(lxx) Job 21:14 Yet they say to God, 'Depart from us, For we do not desire the knowledge of Your ways.(nkjv) ======= Job 21:15 ============ Job 21:15 'Who is the Almighty, that we should serve Him, And what would we gain if we entreat Him?'(nasb) Job 21:15 Quis est Omnipotens, ut serviamus ei? et quid nobis prodest si oraverimus illum?(vulgate) Job 21:15 ¿Quién [es] el Todopoderoso, para que le sirvamos? ¿Y de qué nos aprovechará que oremos a Él?(E) Job 21:15 Qu'est-ce que le Tout-Puissant, pour que nous le servions? Que gagnerons-nous à lui adresser nos prières?(F) Job 21:15 Wer ist der Allmächtige, daß wir ihm dienen sollten? oder was sind wir gebessert, so wir ihn anrufen?"(D) Job 21:15 τί ἱκανός ὅτι δουλεύσομεν αὐτῷ καὶ τίς ὠφέλεια ὅτι ἀπαντήσομεν αὐτῷ(lxx) Job 21:15 Who is the Almighty, that we should serve Him? And what profit do we have if we pray to Him?'(nkjv) ======= Job 21:16 ============ Job 21:16 "Behold, their prosperity is not in their hand; The counsel of the wicked is far from me.(nasb) Job 21:16 Verumtamen quia non sunt in manu eorum bona sua, consilium impiorum longe sit a me.(vulgate) Job 21:16 He aquí que su bien no [está] en manos de ellos: El consejo de los impíos lejos esté de mí.(E) Job 21:16 Quoi donc! ne sont-ils pas en possession du bonheur? -Loin de moi le conseil des méchants!(F) Job 21:16 "Aber siehe, ihr Glück steht nicht in ihren Händen; darum soll der Gottlosen Sinn ferne von mir sein."(D) Job 21:16 ἐν χερσὶν γὰρ ἦν αὐτῶν τὰ ἀγαθά ἔργα δὲ ἀσεβῶν οὐκ ἐφορᾷ(lxx) Job 21:16 Indeed their prosperity is not in their hand; The counsel of the wicked is far from me.(nkjv) ======= Job 21:17 ============ Job 21:17 "How often is the lamp of the wicked put out, Or does their calamity fall on them? Does God apportion destruction in His anger?(nasb) Job 21:17 Quoties lucerna impiorum extinguetur, et superveniet eis inundatio, et dolores dividet furoris sui?(vulgate) Job 21:17 ¡Oh cuántas veces la lámpara de los impíos es apagada, y viene sobre ellos su quebranto, y [Dios] en su ira les reparte dolores!(E) Job 21:17 Mais arrive-t-il souvent que leur lampe s'éteigne, Que la misère fonde sur eux, Que Dieu leur distribue leur part dans sa colère,(F) Job 21:17 Wie oft geschieht's denn, daß die Leuchte der Gottlosen verlischt und ihr Unglück über sie kommt? daß er Herzeleid über sie austeilt in seinem Zorn?(D) Job 21:17 οὐ μὴν δὲ ἀλλὰ καὶ ἀσεβῶν λύχνος σβεσθήσεται ἐπελεύσεται δὲ αὐτοῖς ἡ καταστροφή ὠδῖνες δὲ αὐτοὺς ἕξουσιν ἀπὸ ὀργῆς(lxx) Job 21:17 "How often is the lamp of the wicked put out? How often does their destruction come upon them, The sorrows God distributes in His anger?(nkjv) ======= Job 21:18 ============ Job 21:18 "Are they as straw before the wind, And like chaff which the storm carries away?(nasb) Job 21:18 Erunt sicut paleæ ante faciem venti, et sicut favilla quam turbo dispergit.(vulgate) Job 21:18 Serán como la paja delante del viento, y como el tamo que arrebata el torbellino.(E) Job 21:18 Qu'ils soient comme la paille emportée par le vent, Comme la balle enlevée par le tourbillon?(F) Job 21:18 daß sie werden wie Stoppeln vor dem Winde und wie Spreu, die der Sturmwind wegführt?(D) Job 21:18 ἔσονται δὲ ὥσπερ ἄχυρα πρὸ ἀνέμου ἢ ὥσπερ κονιορτός ὃν ὑφείλατο λαῖλαψ(lxx) Job 21:18 They are like straw before the wind, And like chaff that a storm carries away.(nkjv) ======= Job 21:19 ============ Job 21:19 "You say, 'God stores away a man's iniquity for his sons.' Let God repay him so that he may know it.(nasb) Job 21:19 Deus servabit filiis illius dolorem patris, et cum reddiderit, tunc sciet.(vulgate) Job 21:19 Dios guardará la iniquidad para los hijos de ellos: Él le dará su pago, para que conozca.(E) Job 21:19 Est-ce pour les fils que Dieu réserve le châtiment du père? Er vergelte es ihm selbst, daß er's innewerde.(D) Job 21:19 ἐκλίποι υἱοὺς τὰ ὑπάρχοντα αὐτοῦ ἀνταποδώσει πρὸς αὐτὸν καὶ γνώσεται(lxx) Job 21:19 They say, 'God lays up one's iniquity for his children'; Let Him recompense him, that he may know it.(nkjv) ======= Job 21:20 ============ Job 21:20 "Let his own eyes see his decay, And let him drink of the wrath of the Almighty.(nasb) Job 21:20 Videbunt de ses mois est achevé?(F) Job 21:21 Denn was ist ihm gelegen an seinem Hause nach ihm, wenn die Zahl seiner Monden ihm zugeteilt ist?(D) Job 21:21 ὅτι τί θέλημα αὐτοῦ ἐν οἴκῳ αὐτοῦ μετ᾽ αὐτόν καὶ ἀριθμοὶ μηνῶν αὐτοῦ διῃρέθησαν(lxx) Job 21:21 For what does he care about his household after him, When the number of his months is cut in half?(nkjv) ======= Job 21:22 ============ Job 21:22 "Can anyone teach God knowledge, In that He judges those on high?(nasb) Job 21:22 Numquid Deus docebit quispiam scientiam, qui excelsos judicat?(vulgate) Job 21:22 ¿Enseñará [alguien] a Dios sabiduría, juzgando Él a los que están encumbrados?(E) Job 21:22 Est-ce à Dieu qu'on donnera de la science, A lui qui gouverne les esprits célestes?(F) Job 21:22 Wer will Gott lehren, der auch die Hohen richtet?(D) Job 21:22 πότερον οὐχὶ ὁ κύριός ἐστιν ὁ διδάσκων σύνεσιν καὶ ἐπιστήμην αὐτὸς δὲ φόνους διακρινεῖ(lxx) Job 21:22 "Can anyone teach God knowledge, Since He judges those on high?(nkjv) ======= Job 21:23 ============ Job 21:23 "One dies in his full strength, Being wholly at ease and satisfied;(nasb) Job 21:23 Iste moritur robustus et sanus, dives et felix:(vulgate) Job 21:23 Éste morirá en el vigor de su hermosura, todo quieto y pacífico.(E) Job 21:23 L'un meurt au sein du bien-être, De la paix et du bonheur,(F) Job 21:23 Dieser stirbt frisch und gesund in allem Reichtum und voller Genüge,(D) Job 21:23 οὗτος ἀποθανεῖται ἐν κράτει ἁπλοσύνης αὐτοῦ ὅλος δὲ εὐπαθῶν καὶ εὐθηνῶν(lxx) Job 21:23 One dies in his full strength, Being wholly at ease and secure;(nkjv) ======= Job 21:24 ============ Job 21:24 His sides are filled out with fat, And the marrow of his bones is moist,(nasb) Job 21:24 viscera ejus plena sunt adipe, et medullis ossa illius irrigantur:(vulgate) Job 21:24 Sus colodras están llenas de leche, y sus huesos serán regados de tuétano.(E) Job 21:24 Les flancs chargés de graisse Et la moelle des os remplie de sève;(F) Job 21:24 sein Melkfaß ist voll Milch, und seine Gebeine werden gemästet mit Mark;(D) Job 21:24 τὰ δὲ ἔγκατα αὐτοῦ πλήρη στέατος μυελὸς δὲ αὐτοῦ διαχεῖται(lxx) Job 21:24 His pails are full of milk, And the marrow of his bones is moist.(nkjv) ======= Job 21:25 ============ Job 21:25 While another dies with a bitter soul, Never even tasting anything good.(nasb) Job 21:25 alius vero moritur in amaritudine animæ absque ullis opibus:(vulgate) Job 21:25 Y este otro morirá en amargura de ánimo, y sin haber comido jamás con gusto.(E) Job 21:25 L'autre meurt, l'amertume dans l'âme, Sans avoir joui d'aucun bien.(F) Job 21:25 jener aber stirbt mit betrübter Seele und hat nie mit Freuden gegessen;(D) Job 21:25 ὁ δὲ τελευτᾷ ὑπὸ πικρίας ψυχῆς οὐ φαγὼν οὐδὲν ἀγαθόν(lxx) Job 21:25 Another man dies in the bitterness of his soul, Never having eaten with pleasure.(nkjv) ======= Job 21:26 ============ Job 21:26 "Together they lie down in the dust, And worms cover them.(nasb) Job 21:26 et tamen simul in pulvere dormient, et vermes operient eos.(vulgate) Job 21:26 Igualmente yacerán ellos en el polvo, y gusanos los cubrirán.(E) Job 21:26 Et tous deux se couchent dans la poussière, Tous deux deviennent la pâture des vers.(F) Job 21:26 und liegen gleich miteinander in der Erde, und Würmer decken sie zu.(D) Job 21:26 ὁμοθυμαδὸν δὲ ἐπὶ γῆς κοιμῶνται σαπρία δὲ αὐτοὺς ἐκάλυψεν(lxx) Job 21:26 They lie down alike in the dust, And worms cover them.(nkjv) ======= Job 21:27 ============ Job 21:27 "Behold, I know your thoughts, And the plans by which you would wrong me.(nasb) Job 21:27 Certe novi cogitationes vestras, et sententias contra me iniquas.(vulgate) Job 21:27 He aquí, yo conozco vuestros pensamientos, y las imaginaciones que contra mí forjáis.(E) Job 21:27 Je sais bien quelles sont vos pensées, Quels I know your thoughts, And the schemes with which you would wrong me.(nkjv) ======= Job 21:28 ============ Job 21:28 "For you say, 'Where is the house of the nobleman, And where is the tent, the dwelling places of the wicked?'(nasb) Job 21:28 Dicitis enim: Ubi est domus principis? et ubi tabernacula impiorum?(vulgate) Job 21:28 Porque decís: ¿Qué [es] de la casa del príncipe, y qué de la
