Wail, O ships of Tarshish, For Tyre is destroyed, without house or harbor; It is reported to them from the land of Cyprus.(nasb) Isa 23:1 Onus Tyri. [Ululate, naves maris, quia vastata est domus unde venire consueverant: de terra Cethim revelatum est eis.(vulgate) Isaías 23:1 Carga de Tiro. Lamentad, oh naves de Tarsis, porque Tiro es destruida hasta no quedar en ella casa ni lugar por donde entrar. Desde la tierra de Quitim le ha sido revelado.(E) Ésaïe 23:1 Oracle sur Tyr. Lamentez-vous, navires de Tarsis! Car elle est détruite: plus de maisons! plus d'entrée! C'est du pays de Kittim que la nouvelle leur en est venue.(F) Isa 23:1 Dies ist die Last über Tyrus: Heulet, ihr Tharsisschiffe; denn sie ist zerstört, daß kein Haus da ist noch jemand dahin zieht. Aus dem Lande Chittim werden sie des gewahr werden.(D) Isa 23:1 τὸ ὅραμα Τύρου ὀλολύζετε πλοῖα Καρχηδόνος ὅτι ἀπώλετο καὶ οὐκέτι ἔρχονται ἐκ γῆς Κιτιαίων ἦκται αἰχμάλωτος(lxx) Isa 23:1 The burden against Tyre. Wail, you ships of Tarshish! For it is laid waste, So that there is no house, no harbor; From the land of Cyprus it is revealed to them.(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 23:2 ============ Isa 23:2 Be silent, you inhabitants of the coastland, You merchants of Sidon; Your messengers crossed the sea(nasb) Isa 23:2 Tacete, qui habitatis in insula; negotiatores Sidonis, transfretantes mare, repleverunt te.(vulgate) Isaías 23:2 Callad, moradores de la isla, mercaderes de Sidón, que pasando el mar te abastecían.(E) Ésaïe 23:2 Soyez muets d'effroi, habitants de la côte, Que remplissaient les marchands de Sidon, parcourant la mer!(F) Isa 23:2 Die Einwohner der Insel sind still geworden. Die Kaufleute zu Sidon, die durchs Meer zogen, füllten dich,(D) Isa 23:2 τίνι ὅμοιοι γεγόνασιν οἱ ἐνοικοῦντες ἐν τῇ νήσῳ μεταβόλοι Φοινίκης διαπερῶντες τὴν θάλασσαν(lxx) Isa 23:2 Be still, you inhabitants of the coastland, You merchants of Sidon, Whom those who cross the sea have filled.(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 23:3 ============ Isa 23:3 And were on many waters. The grain of the Nile, the harvest of the River was her revenue; And she was the market of nations.(nasb) Isa 23:3 In aquis multis semen Nili; messis fluminis fruges ejus: et facta est negotiatio gentium.(vulgate) Isaías 23:3 Su ganancia es de las sementeras que crecen con las muchas aguas del Nilo, de la mies del río. Es también el mercado de las naciones.(E) Ésaïe 23:3 A travers les vastes eaux, le blé du Nil, La moisson du fleuve, était pour elle un revenu; Elle était le marché des nations.(F) Isa 23:3 und was von Früchten am Sihor und Getreide am Nil wuchs, brachte man zu ihr hinein durch große Wasser; und du warst der Heiden Markt geworden.(D) Isa 23:3 ἐν ὕδατι πολλῷ σπέρμα μεταβόλων ὡς ἀμητοῦ εἰσφερομένου οἱ μεταβόλοι τῶν ἐθνῶν(lxx) Isa 23:3 And on great waters the grain of Shihor, The harvest of the River, is her revenue; And she is a marketplace for the nations.(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 23:4 ============ Isa 23:4 Be ashamed, O Sidon; For the sea speaks, the stronghold of the sea, saying, "I have neither travailed nor given birth, I have neither brought up young men nor reared virgins."(nasb) Isa 23:4 Erubesce, Sidon; ait enim mare, fortitudo maris, dicens: Non parturivi, et non peperi, et non enutrivi juvenes, nec ad incrementum perduxi virgines.(vulgate) Isaías 23:4 Avergüénzate, Sidón, porque el mar, la fortaleza del mar habló, diciendo: Nunca estuve de parto, ni di a luz, ni crié jóvenes, [ni] crié vírgenes.(E) Ésaïe 23:4 Sois confuse, Sidon! Car ainsi parle la mer, la forteresse de la mer: Je n'ai point eu de douleurs, je n'ai point enfanté, Je n'ai point nourri de jeunes gens, ni élevé de jeunes filles.(F) Isa 23:4 Du magst wohl erschrecken, Sidon; denn das Meer, ja, die Feste am Meer spricht: Ich bin nicht mehr schwanger, ich gebäre nicht mehr; so ziehe ich keine Jünglinge mehr auf und erziehe keine Jungfrauen.(D) Isa 23:4 αἰσχύνθητι Σιδών εἶπεν ἡ θάλασσα ἡ δὲ ἰσχὺς τῆς θαλάσσης εἶπεν οὐκ ὤδινον οὐδὲ ἔτεκον οὐδὲ ἐξέθρεψα νεανίσκους οὐδὲ ὕψωσα παρθένους(lxx) Isa 23:4 Be ashamed, O Sidon; For the sea has spoken, The strength of the sea, saying, "I do not labor, nor bring forth children; Neither do I rear young men, Nor bring up virgins.(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 23:5 ============ Isa 23:5 When the report reaches Egypt, They will be in anguish at the report of Tyre.(nasb) Isa 23:5 Cum auditum fuerit in Ægypto, dolebunt cum audierint de Tiro.(vulgate) Isaías 23:5 Cuando llegue la noticia a Egipto, tendrán dolor de las nuevas de Tiro.(E) Ésaïe 23:5 Quand les Egyptiens sauront la nouvelle, Ils trembleront en apprenant la chute de Tyr.(F) Isa 23:5 Sobald es die Ägypter hören, erschrecken sie über die Kunde von Tyrus.(D) Isa 23:5 ὅταν δὲ ἀκουστὸν γένηται Αἰγύπτῳ λήμψεται αὐτοὺς ὀδύνη περὶ Τύρου(lxx) Isa 23:5 When the report reaches Egypt, They also will be in agony at the report of Tyre.(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 23:6 ============ Isa 23:6 Pass over to Tarshish; Wail, O inhabitants of the coastland.(nasb) Isa 23:6 Transite maria, ululate, qui habitatis in insula!(vulgate) Isaías 23:6 Pasaos a Tarsis; aullad, moradores de la isla.(E) Ésaïe 23:6 Passez à Tarsis, Lamentez-vous, habitants de la côte!(F) Isa 23:6 Fahret hin gen Tharsis; heulet, ihr Einwohner der Insel!(D) Isa 23:6 ἀπέλθατε εἰς Καρχηδόνα ὀλολύξατε οἱ ἐνοικοῦντες ἐν τῇ νήσῳ ταύτῃ(lxx) Isa 23:6 Cross over to Tarshish; Wail, you inhabitants of the coastland!(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 23:7 ============ Isa 23:7 Is this your jubilant city, Whose origin is from antiquity, Whose feet used to carry her to colonize distant places?(nasb) Isa 23:7 Numquid non vestra hæc est, quæ gloriabatur a diebus pristinis in antiquitate sua? Ducent eam pedes sui longe ad peregrinandum.(vulgate) Isaías 23:7 [¿Es] ésta vuestra [ciudad] alegre, cuya antigüedad [es] de muchos días? Sus pies la llevarán a peregrinar lejos.(E) Ésaïe 23:7 Est-ce là votre ville joyeuse? Elle avait une origine antique, Et ses pieds la mènent séjourner au loin.(F) Isa 23:7 Ist das eure fröhliche Stadt, die sich ihres Alters rühmte? Ihre Füße werden sie wegführen, zu wallen.(D) Isa 23:7 οὐχ αὕτη ἦν ὑμῶν ἡ ὕβρις ἡ ἀπ᾽ ἀρχῆς πρὶν ἢ παραδοθῆναι αὐτήν(lxx) Isa 23:7 Is this your joyous city, Whose antiquity is from ancient days, Whose feet carried her far off to dwell?(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 23:8 ============ Isa 23:8 Who has planned this against Tyre, the bestower of crowns, Whose merchants were princes, whose traders were the honored of the earth?(nasb) Isa 23:8 Quis cogitavit hoc super Tyrum quondam coronatam, cujus negotiatores principes, institores ejus inclyti terræ?(vulgate) Isaías 23:8 ¿Quién decretó esto sobre Tiro, la que repartía coronas, cuyos negociantes eran príncipes, cuyos mercaderes eran los nobles de la tierra?(E) Ésaïe 23:8 Qui a pris cette résolution contre Tyr, la dispensatrice des couronnes, Elle dont les marchands étaient des princes, Dont les commerçants étaient les plus riches de la terre?(F) Isa 23:8 Wer hätte das gemeint, daß es Tyrus, der Krone, so gehen sollte, so doch ihre Kaufleute Fürsten sind und ihre Krämer die Herrlichsten im Lande?(D) Isa 23:8 τίς ταῦτα ἐβούλευσεν ἐπὶ Τύρον μὴ ἥσσων ἐστὶν ἢ οὐκ ἰσχύει οἱ ἔμποροι αὐτῆς ἔνδοξοι ἄρχοντες τῆς γῆς(lxx) Isa 23:8 Who has taken this counsel against Tyre, the crowning city, Whose merchants are princes, Whose traders are the honorable of the earth?(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 23:9 ============ Isa 23:9 The Lord of hosts has planned it, to defile the pride of all beauty, To despise all the honored of the earth.(nasb) Isa 23:9 Dominus exercituum cogitavit hoc, ut detraheret superbiam omnis gloriæ, et ad ignominiam deduceret universos inclytos terræ.(vulgate) Isaías 23:9 Jehová de los ejércitos lo decretó, para envilecer la soberbia de toda gloria; y para abatir a todos los ilustres de la tierra.(E) Ésaïe 23:9 C'est l'Eternel des armées qui a pris cette résolution, Pour blesser l'orgueil de tout ce qui brille, Pour humilier tous les grands de la terre.(F) Isa 23:9 Der HERR Zebaoth hat's also gedacht, auf daß er schwächte alle Pracht der lustigen Stadt und verächtlich machte alle Herrlichen im Lande.(D) Isa 23:9 κύριος σαβαωθ ἐβουλεύσατο παραλῦσαι πᾶσαν τὴν ὕβριν τῶν ἐνδόξων καὶ ἀτιμάσαι πᾶν ἔνδοξον ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς(lxx) Isa 23:9 The Lord of hosts has purposed it, To bring to dishonor the pride of all glory, To bring into contempt all the honorable of the earth.(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 23:10 ============ Isa 23:10 Overflow your land like the Nile, O daughter of Tarshish, There is no more restraint.(nasb) Isa 23:10 Transi terram tuam quasi flumen, filia maris! non est cingulum ultra tibi.(vulgate) Isaías 23:10 Pasa cual río de tu tierra, oh hija de Tarsis; porque no tendrás ya más fortaleza.(E) Ésaïe 23:10 Parcours librement ton pays, pareille au Nil, Fille de Tarsis! Plus de joug!(F) Isa 23:10 Fahr hin durch dein Land wie ein Strom, du Tochter Tharsis! Da ist kein Gurt mehr.(D) Isa 23:10 ἐργάζου τὴν γῆν σου καὶ γὰρ πλοῖα οὐκέτι ἔρχεται ἐκ Καρχηδόνος(lxx) Isa 23:10 Overflow through your land like the River, O daughter of Tarshish; There is no more strength.(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 23:11 ============ Isa 23:11 He has stretched His hand out over the sea, He has made the kingdoms tremble; The Lord has given a command concerning Canaan to demolish its strongholds.(nasb) Isa 23:11 Manum suam extendit super mare; conturbavit regna. Dominus mandavit adversus Chanaan, ut contereret fortes ejus;(vulgate) Isaías 23:11 Extendió su mano sobre el mar, hizo temblar los reinos; Jehová dio mandamiento respecto a Canaán, que sus fortalezas sean destruidas.(E) Ésaïe 23:11 L'Eternel a étendu sa main sur la mer; Il a fait trembler les royaumes; Il a ordonné la destruction des forteresses de Canaan.(F) Isa 23:11 Er reckt seine Hand über das Meer und erschreckt die Königreiche. Der HERR gebeut über Kanaan, zu vertilgen ihre Mächtigen,(D) Isa 23:11 ἡ δὲ χείρ σου οὐκέτι ἰσχύει κατὰ θάλασσαν ἡ παροξύνουσα βασιλεῖς κύριος σαβαωθ ἐνετείλατο περὶ Χανααν ἀπολέσαι αὐτῆς τὴν ἰσχύν(lxx) Isa 23:11 He stretched out His hand over the sea, He shook the kingdoms; The Lord has given a commandment against Canaan To destroy its strongholds.(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 23:12 ============ Isa 23:12 He has said, "You shall exult no more, O crushed virgin daughter of Sidon. Arise, pass over to Cyprus; even there you will find no rest."(nasb) Isa 23:12 et dixit: Non adjicies ultra ut glorieris, calumniam sustinens virgo filia Sidonis: in Cethim consurgens transfreta: ibi quoque non erit requies tibi.(vulgate) Isaías 23:12 Y dijo: No te alegrarás más, oh tú, oprimida virgen, hija de Sidón. Levántate para pasar a Quitim; y aun allí no tendrás reposo.(E) Ésaïe 23:12 Il a dit: Tu ne te livreras plus à la joie, Vierge déshonorée, fille de Sidon! Lève-toi, passe au pays de Kittim! Même là, il n'y aura pas de repos pour toi.(F) Isa 23:12 und spricht: Du sollst nicht mehr fröhlich sein, du geschändete Jungfrau, du Tochter Sidon! Nach Chittim mache dich auf und zieh fort; doch wirst du daselbst auch nicht Ruhe haben.(D) Isa 23:12 καὶ ἐροῦσιν οὐκέτι μὴ προσθῆτε τοῦ ὑβρίζειν καὶ ἀδικεῖν τὴν θυγατέρα Σιδῶνος καὶ ἐὰν ἀπέλθῃς εἰς Κιτιεῖς οὐδὲ ἐκεῖ σοι ἀνάπαυσις ἔσται(lxx) Isa 23:12 And He said, "You will rejoice no more, O you oppressed virgin daughter of Sidon. Arise, cross over to Cyprus; There also you will have no rest."(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 23:13 ============ Isa 23:13 Behold, the land of the Chaldeans--this is the people which was not; Assyria appointed it for desert creatures--they erected their siege towers, they stripped its palaces, they made it a ruin.(nasb) Isa 23:13 Ecce terra Chaldæorum, talis populus non fuit: Assur fundavit eam; in captivitatem traduxerunt robustos ejus, suffoderunt domos ejus, posuerunt eam in ruinam.(vulgate) Isaías 23:13 Mira la tierra de los caldeos; este pueblo no existía; [hasta que] Asiria la fundó para los moradores del desierto; levantaron sus fortalezas, edificaron sus palacios; Él la convirtió en ruinas.(E) Ésaïe 23:13 Vois les Chaldéens, qui n'étaient pas un peuple, Ces habitants du désert, pour qui l'Assyrien a fondé un pays; Ils élèvent des tours, ils renversent les palais de Tyr, Ils les mettent en ruines.(F) Isa 23:13 Siehe, der Chaldäer Land, das nicht ein Volk war, sondern Assur hat es angerichtet, zu schiffen, die haben ihre Türme aufgerichtet und die Paläste niedergerissen; denn sie ist gesetzt, daß sie geschleift werden soll.(D) Isa 23:13 καὶ εἰς γῆν Χαλδαίων καὶ αὕτη ἠρήμωται ἀπὸ τῶν Ἀσσυρίων οὐδὲ ἐκεῖ σοι ἀνάπαυσις ἔσται ὅτι ὁ τοῖχος αὐτῆς πέπτωκεν(lxx) Isa 23:13 Behold, the land of the Chaldeans, This people which was not; Assyria founded it for wild beasts of the desert. They set up its towers, They raised up its palaces, And brought it to ruin.(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 23:14 ============ Isa 23:14 Wail, O ships of Tarshish, For your stronghold is destroyed.(nasb) Isa 23:14 Ululate, naves maris, quia devastata est fortitudo vestra.](vulgate) Isaías 23:14 Aullad, naves de Tarsis; porque destruida es vuestra fortaleza.(E) Ésaïe 23:14 Lamentez-vous, navires de Tarsis! Car votre forteresse est détruite!(F) Isa 23:14 Heulet, ihr Tharsisschiffe! denn eure Macht ist zerstört.(D) Isa 23:14 ὀλολύζετε πλοῖα Καρχηδόνος ὅτι ἀπώλετο τὸ ὀχύρωμα ὑμῶν(lxx) Isa 23:14 Wail, you ships of Tarshish! For your strength is laid waste(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 23:15 ============ Isa 23:15 Now in that day Tyre will be forgotten for seventy years like the days of one king. At the end of seventy years it will happen to Tyre as in the song of the harlot:(nasb) Isa 23:15 Et erit in die illa: in oblivione eris, o Tyre! septuaginta annis, sicut dies regis unius; post septuaginta autem annos erit Tyro quasi canticum meretricis:(vulgate) Isaías 23:15 Y acontecerá en aquel día, que Tiro será puesta en olvido por setenta años, como días de un rey. Después de los setenta años, cantará Tiro canción como de ramera.(E) Ésaïe 23:15 En ce temps-là, Tyr tombera dans l'oubli soixante-dix ans, Ce que dure la vie d'un roi. Au bout de soixante-dix ans, il en sera de Tyr Comme de la prostituée dont parle la chanson: -(F) Isa 23:15 Zu der Zeit wird Tyrus vergessen werden siebzig Jahre, solange ein König leben mag. Aber nach siebzig Jahren wird es mit Tyrus gehen, wie es im Hurenlied heißt:(D) Isa 23:15 καὶ ἔσται ἐν τῇ ἡμέρᾳ ἐκείνῃ καταλειφθήσεται Τύρος ἔτη ἑβδομήκοντα ὡς χρόνος βασιλέως ὡς χρόνος ἀνθρώπου καὶ ἔσται μετὰ ἑβδομήκοντα ἔτη ἔσται Τύρος ὡς ᾆσμα πόρνης(lxx) Isa 23:15 Now it shall come to pass in that day that Tyre will be forgotten seventy years, according to the days of one king. At the end of seventy years it will happen to Tyre as in the song of the harlot:(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 23:16 ============ Isa 23:16 Take your harp, walk about the city, O forgotten harlot; Pluck the strings skillfully, sing many songs, That you may be remembered.(nasb) Isa 23:16 [Sume citharam, circui civitatem, meretrix oblivioni tradita: bene cane, frequenta canticum, ut memoria tui sit.(vulgate) Isaías 23:16 Toma arpa, y rodea la ciudad, oh ramera olvidada; haz buena melodía, canta muchas canciones, para que seas recordada.(E) Ésaïe 23:16 Prends la harpe, parcours la ville, Prostituée qu'on oublie! Joue bien, répète tes chants, Pour qu'on se souvienne de toi! -(F) Isa 23:16 Nimm die Harfe, gehe in der Stadt um, du vergessene Hure; mache es gut auf dem Saitenspiel und singe getrost, auf daß dein wieder gedacht werde!(D) Isa 23:16 λαβὲ κιθάραν ῥέμβευσον πόλεις πόρνη ἐπιλελησμένη καλῶς κιθάρισον πολλὰ ᾆσον ἵνα σου μνεία γένηται(lxx) Isa 23:16 "Take a harp, go about the city, You forgotten harlot; Make sweet melody, sing many songs, That you may be remembered."(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 23:17 ============ Isa 23:17 It will come about at the end of seventy years that the Lord will visit Tyre. Then she will go back to her harlot's wages and will play the harlot with all the kingdoms on the face of the earth.(nasb) Isa 23:17 Et erit post septuaginta annos: visitabit Dominus Tyrum, et reducet eam ad mercedes suas, et rursum fornicabitur cum universis regnis terræ super faciem terræ;(vulgate) Isaías 23:17 Y acontecerá, que al fin de los setenta años visitará Jehová a Tiro: y volverá a su salario, y otra vez fornicará con todos los reinos del mundo sobre la faz de la tierra.(E) Ésaïe 23:17 Au bout de soixante-dix ans, l'Eternel visitera Tyr, Et elle retournera à son salaire impur; Elle se prostituera à tous les royaumes de la terre, Sur la face du monde.(F) Isa 23:17 Denn nach siebzig Jahren wird der HERR Tyrus heimsuchen, daß sie wiederkomme zu ihrem Hurenlohn und Hurerei treibe mit allen Königreichen auf Erden.(D) Isa 23:17 καὶ ἔσται μετὰ ἑβδομήκοντα ἔτη ἐπισκοπὴν ποιήσει ὁ θεὸς Τύρου καὶ πάλιν ἀποκατασταθήσεται εἰς τὸ ἀρχαῖον καὶ ἔσται ἐμπόριον πάσαις ταῖς βασιλείαις τῆς οἰκουμένης(lxx) Isa 23:17 And it shall be, at the end of seventy years, that the Lord will visit Tyre. She will return to her hire, and commit fornication with all the kingdoms of the world on the face of the earth.(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 23:18 ============ Isa 23:18 Her gain and her harlot's wages will be set apart to the Lord; it will not be stored up or hoarded, but her gain will become sufficient food and choice attire for those who dwell in the presence of the Lord.(nasb) Isa 23:18 et erunt negotiationes ejus et mercedes ejus sanctificatæ Domino: non condentur neque reponentur, quia his qui habitaverint coram Domino erit negotiatio ejus, ut manducent in saturitatem, et vestiantur usque ad vetustatem.](vulgate) Isaías 23:18 Pero sus negocios y sus ganancias serán consagrados a Jehová; no se guardarán ni se atesorarán, porque sus ganancias serán para los que estuvieren delante de Jehová, para que coman hasta saciarse, y vistan honradamente.(E) Ésaïe 23:18 Mais son gain et son salaire impur seront consacrés à l'Eternel, Ils ne seront ni entassés ni conservés; Car son gain fournira pour ceux qui habitent devant l'Eternel Une nourriture abondante et des vêtements magnifiques.(F) Isa 23:18 Aber ihr Kaufhandel und Hurenlohn werden dem HERRN heilig sein. Man wird sie nicht wie Schätze sammeln noch verbergen; sondern die vor dem HERRN wohnen, werden ihr Kaufgut haben, daß sie essen und satt werden und wohl bekleidet seien.(D) Isa 23:18 καὶ ἔσται αὐτῆς ἡ ἐμπορία καὶ ὁ μισθὸς ἅγιον τῷ κυρίῳ οὐκ αὐτοῖς συναχθήσεται ἀλλὰ τοῖς κατοικοῦσιν ἔναντι κυρίου πᾶσα ἡ ἐμπορία αὐτῆς φαγεῖν καὶ πιεῖν καὶ ἐμπλησθῆναι εἰς συμβολὴν μνημόσυνον ἔναντι κυρίου(lxx) Isa 23:18 Her gain and her pay will be set apart for the Lord; it will not be treasured nor laid up, for her gain will be for those who dwell before the Lord, to eat sufficiently, and for fine clothing.(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 24:1 ============ top of the page
