Et ils eurent avec lui une violente querelle.(FR) 1 ׃8 וַיֹּאמְר֨וּ אֵלָ֜יו אִ֣ישׁ אֶפְרַ֗יִם מָֽה־הַדָּבָ֤ר הַזֶּה֙ עָשִׂ֣יתָ לָּ֔נוּ לְבִלְתִּי֙ קְרֹ֣אות לָ֔נוּ כִּ֥י הָלַ֖כְתָּ לְהִלָּחֵ֣ם בְּמִדְיָ֑ן וַיְרִיב֥וּן אִתּ֖וֹ בְּחָזְקָֽה׃ Judges Jdg 8:1 Then the men of Ephraim said to him, "What is this thing you have done to us, not calling us when you went to fight against Midian?" Is not the gleaning of the grapes of Ephraim better than the vintage of Abiezer?(nasb) ======= Judges 8:3 ============ Jdg 8:3 God hath delivered into your hands the princes of Midian, Oreb and Zeeb: and what was I able to do in comparison of you? Then their anger toward him subsided when he said that.(nasb) ======= Judges 8:4 ============ Jdg 8:4 And Gideon came to Jordan, and passed over, he, and the three hundred men that were with him, faint, yet pursuing them.(KJV) Judges 8:4 And Gideon came to Iorden to passe ouer, hee, and the three hundreth men that were with him, weary, yet pursuing them.(Geneva) Juges 8:4 Gédéon arriva au Jourdain, et il le passa, lui et les trois cents hommes qui étaient avec lui, fatigués, mais poursuivant toujours.(FR) 4 ׃8 וַיָּבֹ֥א גִדְע֖וֹן הַיַּרְדֵּ֑נָה עֹבֵ֣ר ה֗וּא וּשְׁלֹשׁ־מֵא֤וֹת הָאִישׁ֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר אִתּ֔וֹ עֲיֵפִ֖ים וְרֹדְפִֽים׃ Judges Jdg 8:4 Then Gideon and the 300 men who were with him came to the Jordan and crossed over, weary yet pursuing.(nasb) ======= Judges 8:5 ============ Jdg 8:5 And he said unto the men of Succoth, Give, I pray you, loaves of bread unto the people that follow me; for they be faint, and I am pursuing after Zebah and Zalmunna, kings of Midian.(KJV) Judges 8:5 And he said vnto the men of Succoth, Giue, I pray you, morsels of bread vnto the people that followe me (for they be wearie ) that I may follow after Zebah, & Zalmunna Kings of Midia.(Geneva) Juges 8:5 Il dit aux gens de Succoth: Donnez, je vous prie, quelques pains au peuple qui m'accompagne, car ils sont fatigués, et je suis à la poursuite de Zébach et de Tsalmunna, rois de Madian.(FR) 5 ׃8 וַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙ לְאַנְשֵׁ֣י סֻכּ֔וֹת תְּנוּ־נָא֙ כִּכְּר֣וֹת לֶ֔חֶם לָעָ֖ם אֲשֶׁ֣ר בְּרַגְלָ֑י כִּי־עֲיֵפִ֣ים הֵ֔ם וְאָנֹכִ֗י רֹדֵ֛ף אַחֲרֵ֛י זֶ֥בַח וְצַלְמֻנָּ֖ע מַלְכֵ֥י מִדְיָֽן׃ Judges Jdg 8:5 He said to the men of Succoth, "Please give loaves of bread to the people who are following me, for they are weary, and I am pursuing Zebah and Zalmunna, the kings of Midian."(nasb) ======= Judges 8:6 ============ Jdg 8:6 And the princes of Succoth said, Are the hands of Zebah and Zalmunna now in thine hand, that we should give bread unto thine army?(KJV) Judges 8:6 And the princes of Succoth sayde, Are the handes of Zebah and Zalmunna nowe in thine hads, that we should giue bread vnto thine army?(Geneva) Juges 8:6 Les chefs de Succoth répondirent: La main de Zébach et de Tsalmunna est-elle déjà en ton pouvoir, pour que nous donnions du pain à ton armée?(FR) 6 ׃8 וַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙ שָׂרֵ֣י סֻכּ֔וֹת הֲ֠כַף זֶ֧בַח וְצַלְמֻנָּ֛ע עַתָּ֖ה בְּיָדֶ֑ךָ כִּֽי־נִתֵּ֥ן לִֽצְבָאֲךָ֖ לָֽחֶם׃ Judges Jdg 8:6 The leaders of Succoth said, "Are the hands of Zebah and Zalmunna already in your hands, that we should give bread to your army?"(nasb) ======= Judges 8:7 ============ Jdg 8:7 And Gideon said, Therefore when the LORD hath delivered Zebah and Zalmunna into mine hand, then I will tear your flesh with the thorns of the wilderness and with briers.(KJV) Judges 8:7 Gideon then sayde, Therefore when the Lorde hath deliuered Zebah and Zalmunna into mine hand, I will teare your flesh with thornes of the wildernes and with breers.(Geneva) Juges 8:7 Et Gédéon dit: Eh bien! lorsque l'Eternel aura livré entre mes mains Zébach et Tsalmunna, je broierai votre chair avec des épines du désert et avec des chardons.(FR) 7 ׃8 וַיֹּ֣אמֶר גִּדְע֔וֹן לָכֵ֗ן בְּתֵ֧ת יְהוָ֛ה אֶת־זֶ֥בַח וְאֶת־צַלְמֻנָּ֖ע בְּיָדִ֑י וְדַשְׁתִּי֙ אֶת־בְּשַׂרְכֶ֔ם אֶת־קוֹצֵ֥י הַמִּדְבָּ֖ר וְאֶת־הַֽבַּרְקֳנִֽים׃ Judges Jdg 8:7 Gideon said, "All right, when the Lord has given Zebah and Zalmunna into my hand, then I will thrash your bodies with the thorns of the wilderness and with briers."(nasb) ======= Judges 8:8 ============ Jdg 8:8 And he went up thence to Penuel, and spake unto them likewise: and the men of Penuel answered him as the men of Succoth had answered him.(KJV) Judges 8:8 And he went vp thence to Penuel, and spake vnto them likewise, and the men of Penuel answered him, as the men of Succoth answered.(Geneva) Juges 8:8 De là il monta à Penuel, et il fit aux gens de Penuel la même demande. for the fallen were 120,000 swordsmen.(nasb) ======= Judges 8:11 ============ Jdg 8:11 And Gideon went up by the way of them that dwelt in tents on the east of Nobah and Jogbehah, and smote the host; Then the youth wrote down for him the princes of Succoth and its elders, seventy-seven men.(nasb) ======= Judges 8:15 ============ Jdg 8:15 And he came unto the men of Succoth, and said, Behold Zebah and Zalmunna, with whom ye did upbraid me, saying, Are the hands of Zebah and Zalmunna now in thine hand, that we should give bread unto thy men that are weary?(KJV) Judges 8:15 And he came vnto the men of Succoth, & sayd, Behold Zebah and Zalmunna, by whome ye vpbrayded me, saying, Are the hands of Zebah & Zalmunna already in thine hands, that we should giue bread vnto thy weary men?(Geneva) Juges 8:15 Puis il vint auprès des gens de Succoth, et dit: Voici Zébach et Tsalmunna, au sujet desquels vous m'avez insulté, en disant: La main de Zébach et de Tsalmunna est-elle déjà en ton pouvoir, pour que nous donnions du pain à tes hommes fatigués?(FR) 15 ׃8 וַיָּבֹא֙ אֶל־אַנְשֵׁ֣י סֻכּ֔וֹת וַיֹּ֕אמֶר הִנֵּ֖ה זֶ֣בַח וְצַלְמֻנָּ֑ע אֲשֶׁר֩ חֵרַפְתֶּ֨ם אוֹתִ֜י לֵאמֹ֗ר הֲ֠כַף זֶ֣בַח וְצַלְמֻנָּ֤ע עַתָּה֙ בְּיָדֶ֔ךָ כִּ֥י נִתֵּ֛ן לַאֲנָשֶׁ֥יךָ הַיְּעֵפִ֖ים לָֽחֶם׃ Judges Jdg 8:15 He came to the men of Succoth and said, "Behold Zebah and Zalmunna, concerning whom you taunted me, saying, 'Are the hands of Zebah and Zalmunna already in your hand, that we should give bread to your men who are weary?'"(nasb) ======= Judges 8:16 ============ Jdg 8:16 And he took the elders of the city, and thorns of the wilderness and briers, and with them he taught the men of Succoth.(KJV) Judges 8:16 Then he tooke the Elders of the citie, and thornes of the wildernes & breers, & did teare the men of Succoth with them.(Geneva) Juges 8:16 Et il prit les anciens de la ville, et châtia les gens de Succoth avec des épines du désert et avec des chardons.(FR) 16 ׃8 וַיִּקַּח֙ אֶת־זִקְנֵ֣י הָעִ֔יר וְאֶת־קוֹצֵ֥י הַמִּדְבָּ֖ר וְאֶת־הַֽבַּרְקֳנִ֑ים וַיֹּ֣דַע בָּהֶ֔ם אֵ֖ת אַנְשֵׁ֥י סֻכּֽוֹת׃ Judges Jdg 8:16 He took the elders of the city, and thorns of the wilderness and briers, and he disciplined the men of Succoth with them.(nasb) ======= Judges 8:17 ============ Jdg 8:17 And he beat down the tower of Penuel, and slew the men of the city.(KJV) Judges 8:17 Also he brake downe the towre of Penuel, and slew the men of the citie.(Geneva) Juges 8:17 Il renversa aussi la tour de Penuel, et tua les gens de la ville.(FR) 17 ׃8 וְאֶת־מִגְדַּ֥ל פְּנוּאֵ֖ל נָתָ֑ץ וַֽיַּהֲרֹ֖ג אֶת־אַנְשֵׁ֥י הָעִֽיר׃ Judges Jdg 8:17 He tore down the tower of Penuel and killed the men of the city.(nasb) ======= Judges 8:18 ============ Jdg 8:18 Then said he unto Zebah and Zalmunna, What manner of men were they whom ye slew at Tabor? And they answered, As thou art, so were they; each one resembled the children of a king.(KJV) Judges 8:18 Then saide he vnto Zebah & Zalmunna, What maner of men were they, whom ye slew at Tabor? and they answered, As thou art, so were they: euery one was like the children of a King.(Geneva) Juges 8:18 Il dit à Zébach et à Tsalmunna: Comment étaient les hommes que vous avez tués au Thabor? Ils répondirent: Ils étaient comme toi, chacun avait l'air d'un fils de roi.(FR) 18 ׃8 וַיֹּ֗אמֶר אֶל־זֶ֙בַח֙ וְאֶל־צַלְמֻנָּ֔ע אֵיפֹה֙ הָאֲנָשִׁ֔ים אֲשֶׁ֥ר הֲרַגְתֶּ֖ם בְּתָב֑וֹר וַֽיֹּאמרוּ֙ כָּמ֣וֹךָ כְמוֹהֶ֔ם אֶחָ֕ד כְּתֹ֖אַר בְּנֵ֥י הַמֶּֽלֶךְ׃ Judges Jdg 8:18 Then he said to Zebah and Zalmunna, "What kind of men were they whom you killed at Tabor?" And they said, "They were like you, each one resembling the son of a king."(nasb) ======= Judges 8:19 ============ Jdg 8:19 And he said, They were my brethren, even the sons of my mother: as the LORD liveth, if ye had saved them alive, I would not slay you.(KJV) Judges 8:19 And he said, They were my brethren, euen my mothers children: as the Lorde liueth, if ye had saued their liues, I would not slay you.(Geneva) Juges 8:19 Il dit: C'étaient mes frères, fils de ma mère. L'Eternel est vivant! si vous les eussiez laissés vivre, je ne vous tuerais pas.(FR) 19 ׃8 וַיֹּאמַ֕ר אַחַ֥י בְּנֵֽי־אִמִּ֖י הֵ֑ם חַי־יְהוָ֗ה ל֚וּ הַחֲיִתֶ֣ם אוֹתָ֔ם לֹ֥א הָרַ֖גְתִּי אֶתְכֶֽם׃ Judges Jdg 8:19 He said, "They were my brothers, the sons of my mother. As the Lord lives, if only you had let them live, I would not kill you."(nasb) ======= Judges 8:20 ============ Jdg 8:20 And he said unto Jether his firstborn, Up, and slay them. But the youth drew not his sword: for he feared, because he was yet a youth.(KJV) Judges 8:20 Then he sayde vnto Iether his first borne sonne, Vp, & slay them: but the boy drew not his sword: for he feared, because he was yet yong.(Geneva) Juges 8:20 Et il dit à Jéther, son premier-né: Lève-toi, tue-les! Mais le jeune homme ne tira point son épée, parce qu'il avait peur, car il était encore un enfant.(FR) 20 ׃8 וַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙ לְיֶ֣תֶר בְּכוֹר֔וֹ ק֖וּם הֲרֹ֣ג אוֹתָ֑ם וְלֹא־שָׁלַ֨ף הַנַּ֤עַר חַרְבּוֹ֙ כִּ֣י יָרֵ֔א כִּ֥י עוֹדֶ֖נּוּ נָֽעַר׃ Judges Jdg 8:20 So he said to Jether his firstborn, "Rise, kill them." But the youth did not draw his sword, for he was afraid, because he was still a youth.(nasb) ======= Judges 8:21 ============ Jdg 8:21 Then Zebah and Zalmunna said, Rise thou, and fall upon us: for as the man is, so is his strength. And Gideon arose, and slew Zebah and Zalmunna, and took away the ornaments that were on their camels' necks.(KJV) Judges 8:21 Then Zebah & Zalmunna sayd, Rise thou, & fall vpon vs: for as the man is, sou his stregth; Gideon arose and slew Zebah & Zalmunna, and tooke away the ornamentes, that were on their camels neckes.(Geneva) Juges 8:21 Zébach et Tsalmunna dirent: Lève-toi toi-même, et tue-nous! car tel est l'homme, telle est sa force. Et Gédéon se leva, et tua Zébach et Tsalmunna.
