Today's Date: 3/9/2025 ======= Nehemiah 6:1 ============ Neh 6:1 Now it came to pass when Sanballat, and Tobiah, and Geshem the Arabian, and the rest of our enemies, heard that I had builded the wall, and that there was no breach left therein; (though at that time I had not set up the doors upon the gates;)(KJV) Nehemiah 6:1 And when Sanballat, and Tobiah, and Geshem the Arabian, and the rest of our enemies heard that I had built the wall, & that there were no mo breaches therein, (though at that time I had not set vp the doores vpon the gates)(Geneva) Néhémie 6:1 Je n'avais pas encore posé les battants des portes, lorsque Sanballat, Tobija, Guéschem, l'Arabe, et nos autres ennemis apprirent que j'avais rebâti la muraille et qu'il n'y restait plus de brèche.(FR) 1 ׃6 וַיְהִ֣י כַאֲשֶׁ֣ר נִשְׁמַ֣ע לְסַנְבַלַּ֣ט וְ֠טוֹבִיָּה וּלְגֶ֨שֶׁם הָֽעַרְבִ֜י וּלְיֶ֣תֶר אֹֽיְבֵ֗ינוּ כִּ֤י בָנִ֙יתִי֙ אֶת־הַ֣חוֹמָ֔ה וְלֹא־נ֥וֹתַר בָּ֖הּ פָּ֑רֶץ גַּ֚ם עַד־הָעֵ֣ת הַהִ֔יא דְּלָת֖וֹת לֹא־הֶעֱמַ֥דְתִּי בַשְּׁעָרִֽים׃ Nehemiah Neh 6:1 Now when it was reported to Sanballat, Tobiah, to Geshem the Arab and to the rest of our enemies that I had rebuilt the wall, and that no breach remained in it, although at that time I had not set up the doors in the gates,(nasb) ======= Nehemiah 6:2 ============ Neh 6:2 That Sanballat and Geshem sent unto me, saying, Come, let us meet together in some one of the villages in the plain of Ono. But they thought to do me mischief.(KJV) Nehemiah 6:2 Then sent Sanballat and Geshem vnto me, saying, Come thou that we may meete together in the villages in the plaine of Ono: and they thought to doe me euill.(Geneva) Néhémie 6:2 Alors Sanballat et Guéschem m'envoyèrent dire: Viens, et ayons ensemble une entrevue dans les villages de la vallée d'Ono. Ils avaient médité de me faire du mal.(FR) 2 ׃6 וַיִּשְׁלַ֨ח סַנְבַלַּ֤ט וְגֶ֙שֶׁם֙ אֵלַ֣י לֵאמֹ֔ר לְכָ֞ה וְנִֽוָּעֲדָ֥ה יַחְדָּ֛ו בַּכְּפִירִ֖ים בְּבִקְעַ֣ת אוֹנ֑וֹ וְהֵ֙מָּה֙ חֹֽשְׁבִ֔ים לַעֲשׂ֥וֹת לִ֖י רָעָֽה׃ Nehemiah Neh 6:2 then Sanballat and Geshem sent a message to me, saying, "Come, let us meet together at Chephirim in the plain of Ono." But they were planning to harm me.(nasb) ======= Nehemiah 6:3 ============ Neh 6:3 And I sent messengers unto them, saying, I am doing a great work, so that I cannot come down: why should the work cease, whilst I leave it, and come down to you?(KJV) Nehemiah 6:3 Therefore I sent messengers vnto them, saying, I haue a great worke to doe, and I can not come downe: why should the worke cease, whiles I leaue it, and come downe to you?(Geneva) Néhémie 6:3 Je leur envoyai des messagers avec cette réponse: J'ai un grand ouvrage à exécuter, et je ne puis descendre; le travail serait interrompu pendant que je le quitterais pour aller vers vous.(FR) 3 ׃6 וָאֶשְׁלְחָ֨ה עֲלֵיהֶ֤ם מַלְאָכִים֙ לֵאמֹ֔ר מְלָאכָ֤ה גְדוֹלָה֙ אֲנִ֣י עֹשֶׂ֔ה וְלֹ֥א אוּכַ֖ל לָרֶ֑דֶת לָ֣מָּה תִשְׁבַּ֤ת הַמְּלָאכָה֙ כַּאֲשֶׁ֣ר אַרְפֶּ֔הָ וְיָרַדְתִּ֖י אֲלֵיכֶֽם׃ Nehemiah Neh 6:3 So I sent messengers to them, saying, "I am doing a great work and I cannot come down. Tu vas, dit-on, devenir leur roi,(FR) 6 ׃6 כָּת֣וּב בָּ֗הּ בַּגּוֹיִ֤ם נִשְׁמָע֙ וְגַשְׁמ֣וּ אֹמֵ֔ר אַתָּ֤ה וְהַיְּהוּדִים֙ חֹשְׁבִ֣ים לִמְר֔וֹד עַל־כֵּ֛ן אַתָּ֥ה בוֹנֶ֖ה הַחוֹמָ֑ה וְאַתָּ֗ה הֹוֶ֤ה לָהֶם֙ לְמֶ֔לֶךְ כַּדְּבָרִ֖ים הָאֵֽלֶּה׃ Nehemiah Neh 6:6 In it was written, "It is reported among the nations, and Gashmu says, that you and the Jews are planning to rebel; therefore you are rebuilding the wall. And you are to be their king, according to these reports.(nasb) ======= Nehemiah 6:7 ============ Neh 6:7 And thou hast also appointed prophets to preach of thee at Jerusalem, saying, There is a king in Judah: and now shall it be reported to the king according to these words. Come now therefore, and let us take counsel together.(KJV) Nehemiah 6:7 Thou hast also ordeyned the Prophets to preach of thee at Ierusalem, saying, There is a King in Iudah: and nowe according to these wordes it shall come to the Kings eares: come now therefore, and let vs take counsell together.(Geneva) Néhémie 6:7 tu as même établi des prophètes pour te proclamer à Jérusalem roi de Juda. Et maintenant ces choses arriveront à la connaissance du roi. Viens donc, et consultons-nous ensemble.(FR) 7 ׃6 וְגַם־נְבִיאִ֡ים הֶעֱמַ֣דְתָּ לִקְרֹא֩ עָלֶ֨יךָ בִֽירוּשָׁלִַ֜ם לֵאמֹ֗ר מֶ֚לֶךְ בִּֽיהוּדָ֔ה וְעַתָּה֙ יִשָּׁמַ֣ע לַמֶּ֔לֶךְ כַּדְּבָרִ֣ים הָאֵ֑לֶּה וְעַתָּ֣ה לְכָ֔ה וְנִֽוָּעֲצָ֖ה יַחְדָּֽו׃ ס Nehemiah Neh 6:7 You have also appointed prophets to proclaim in Jerusalem concerning you, 'A king is in Judah!' And now it will be reported to the king according to these reports. So come now, let us take counsel together."(nasb) ======= Nehemiah 6:8 ============ Neh 6:8 Then I sent unto him, saying, There are no such things done as thou sayest, but thou feignest them out of thine own heart.(KJV) Nehemiah 6:8 Then I sent vnto him, saying, It is not done according to these wordes that thou sayest: for thou feynest them of thine owne heart.(Geneva) Néhémie 6:8 Je fis répondre à Sanballat: Ce que tu dis là n'est pas; c'est toi qui l'inventes!(FR) 8 ׃6 וָאֶשְׁלְחָ֤ה אֵלָיו֙ לֵאמֹ֔ר לֹ֤א נִֽהְיָה֙ כַּדְּבָרִ֣ים הָאֵ֔לֶּה אֲשֶׁ֖ר אַתָּ֣ה אוֹמֵ֑ר כִּ֥י מִֽלִּבְּךָ֖ אַתָּ֥ה בוֹדָֽאם׃ Nehemiah Neh 6:8 Then I sent a message to him saying, "Such things as you are saying have not been done, but you are inventing them in your own mind."(nasb) ======= Nehemiah 6:9 ============ Neh 6:9 For they all made us afraid, saying, Their hands shall be weakened from the work, that it be not done. Now therefore, O God, strengthen my hands.(KJV) Nehemiah 6:9 For all they afrayed vs, saying, Their handes shalbe weakened from the worke, and it shall not be done: nowe therefore incourage thou me.(Geneva) Néhémie 6:9 Tous ces gens voulaient nous effrayer, et ils se disaient: Ils perdront courage, et l'oeuvre ne se fera pas. Maintenant, ô Dieu, fortifie-moi!(FR) 9 ׃6 כִּ֣י כֻלָּ֗ם מְיָֽרְאִ֤ים אוֹתָ֙נוּ֙ לֵאמֹ֔ר יִרְפּ֧וּ יְדֵיהֶ֛ם מִן־הַמְּלָאכָ֖ה וְלֹ֣א תֵעָשֶׂ֑ה וְעַתָּ֖ה חַזֵּ֥ק אֶת־יָדָֽי׃ Nehemiah Neh 6:9 For all of them were trying to frighten us, thinking, "They will become discouraged with the work and it will not be done." But now, O God, strengthen my hands.(nasb) ======= Nehemiah 6:10 ============ Neh 6:10 Afterward I came unto the house of Shemaiah the son of Delaiah the son of Mehetabeel, who was shut up; and he said, Let us meet together in the house of God, within the temple, and let us shut the doors of the temple: for they will come to slay thee; yea, in the night will they come to slay thee.(KJV) Nehemiah 6:10 And I came to the house of Shemaiah the sonne of Delaiah the sonne of Mehetabeel, and he was shut vp, and he said, Let vs come together into the house of God in the middes of the Temple, and shut the doores of the Temple: for they will come to slay thee: yea, in the night will they come to kill thee.(Geneva) Néhémie 6:10 Je me rendis chez Schemaeja, fils de Delaja, fils de Mehétabeel. Il s'était enfermé, et il dit: Allons ensemble dans la maison de Dieu, au milieu du temple, et fermons les portes du temple; car ils viennent pour te tuer, et c'est pendant la nuit qu'ils viendront pour te tuer.(FR) 10 ׃6 וַאֲנִי־בָ֗אתִי בֵּ֣ית שְֽׁמַֽעְיָ֧ה בֶן־דְּלָיָ֛ה בֶּן־מְהֵֽיטַבְאֵ֖ל וְה֣וּא עָצ֑וּר וַיֹּ֡אמֶר נִוָּעֵד֩ אֶל־בֵּ֨ית הָאֱלֹהִ֜ים אֶל־תּ֣וֹךְ הַֽהֵיכָ֗ל וְנִסְגְּרָה֙ דַּלְת֣וֹת הַהֵיכָ֔ל כִּ֚י בָּאִ֣ים לְהָרְגֶ֔ךָ וְלַ֖יְלָה בָּאִ֥ים לְהָרְגֶֽךָ׃ Nehemiah Neh 6:10 When I entered the house of Shemaiah the son of Delaiah, son of Mehetabel, who was confined at home, he said, "Let us meet together in the house of God, within the temple, and let us close the doors of the temple, for they are coming to kill you, and they are coming to kill you at night."(nasb) ======= Nehemiah 6:11 ============ Neh 6:11 And I said, Should such a man as I flee? and who is there, that, being as I am, would go into the temple to save his life? I will not go in.(KJV) Nehemiah 6:11 Then I said, Should such a man as I, flee? Who is he, being as I am, that would go into the Temple to liue? I will not goe in.(Geneva) Néhémie 6:11 Je répondis: Un homme comme moi prendre la fuite! Et quel homme tel que moi pourrait entrer dans le temple et vivre? Je n'entrerai point.(FR) 11 ׃6 וָאֹמְרָ֗ה הַאִ֤ישׁ כָּמ֙וֹנִי֙ יִבְרָ֔ח וּמִ֥י כָמ֛וֹנִי אֲשֶׁר־יָב֥וֹא אֶל־הַהֵיכָ֖ל וָחָ֑י לֹ֖א אָבֽוֹא׃ Nehemiah Neh 6:11 But I said, "Should a man like me flee? And could one such as I go into the temple to save his life? I will not go in."(nasb) ======= Nehemiah 6:12 ============ Neh 6:12 And, lo, I perceived that God had not sent him; but that he pronounced this prophecy against me: for Tobiah and Sanballat had hired him.(KJV) Nehemiah 6:12 And loe, I perceiued, that God had not sent him, but that he pronounced this prophecie against me: for Tobiah and Sanballat had hired him.(Geneva) Néhémie 6:12 Et je reconnus que ce n'était pas Dieu qui l'envoyait. Mais il prophétisa ainsi sur moi parce que Sanballat et Tobija lui avaient donné de l'argent.(FR) 12 ׃6 וָאַכִּ֕ירָה וְהִנֵּ֥ה לֹֽא־אֱלֹהִ֖ים שְׁלָח֑וֹ כִּ֤י הַנְּבוּאָה֙ דִּבֶּ֣ר עָלַ֔י וְטוֹבִיָּ֥ה וְסַנְבַלַּ֖ט שְׂכָרֽוֹ׃ Nehemiah Neh 6:12 Then I perceived that surely God had not sent him, but he uttered his prophecy against me because Tobiah and Sanballat had hired him.(nasb) ======= Nehemiah 6:13 ============ Neh 6:13 Therefore was he hired, that I should be afraid, and do so, and sin, and that they might have matter for an evil report, that they might reproach me.(KJV) Nehemiah 6:13 Therefore was he hyred, that I might be afrayde, and doe thus, and sinne, and that they might haue an euill report that they might reproche me.(Geneva) Néhémie 6:13 En le gagnant ainsi, ils espéraient que j'aurais peur, et que je suivrais ses avis et commettrais un péché; et ils auraient profité de cette atteinte à ma réputation pour me couvrir d'opprobre.(FR) 13 ׃6 לְמַ֤עַן שָׂכוּר֙ ה֔וּא לְמַֽעַן־אִירָ֥א וְאֶֽעֱשֶׂה־כֵּ֖ן וְחָטָ֑אתִי וְהָיָ֤ה לָהֶם֙ לְשֵׁ֣ם רָ֔ע לְמַ֖עַן יְחָֽרְפֽוּנִי׃ פ Nehemiah Neh 6:13 He was hired for this reason, that I might become frightened and act accordingly and sin, so that they might have an evil report in order that they could reproach me.(nasb) ======= Nehemiah 6:14 ============ Neh 6:14 My God, think thou upon Tobiah and Sanballat according to these their works, and on the prophetess Noadiah, and the rest of the prophets, that would have put me in fear.(KJV) Nehemiah 6:14 My God, remember thou Tobiah, & Sanballat according vnto these their workes, and Noadiah the Prophetesse also, and the rest of the Prophets that would haue put me in feare.(Geneva) Néhémie 6:14 Souviens-toi, ô mon Dieu, de Tobija et de Sanballat, et de leurs oeuvres! Souviens-toi aussi de Noadia, la prophétesse, et des autres prophètes qui cherchaient à m'effrayer!(FR) 14 ׃6 זָכְרָ֧ה אֱלֹהַ֛י לְטוֹבִיָּ֥ה וּלְסַנְבַלַּ֖ט כְּמַעֲשָׂ֣יו אֵ֑לֶּה וְגַ֨ם לְנוֹעַדְיָ֤ה הַנְּבִיאָה֙ וּלְיֶ֣תֶר הַנְּבִיאִ֔ים אֲשֶׁ֥ר הָי֖וּ מְיָֽרְאִ֥ים אוֹתִֽי׃ Nehemiah Neh 6:14 Remember, O my God, Tobiah and Sanballat according to these works of theirs, and also Noadiah the prophetess and the rest of the prophets who were trying to frighten me. (nasb) ======= Nehemiah 6:15 ============ Neh 6:15 So the wall was finished in the twenty and fifth day of the month Elul, in fifty and two days.(KJV) Nehemiah 6:15 Notwithstanding the wall was finished on the fiue and twentieth day of Elul, in two and fiftie dayes.(Geneva) Néhémie 6:15 La muraille fut achevée le vingt-cinquième jour du mois d'Elul, en cinquante-deux jours.(FR) 15 ׃6 וַתִּשְׁלַם֙ הַֽחוֹמָ֔ה בְּעֶשְׂרִ֥ים וַחֲמִשָּׁ֖ה לֶאֱל֑וּל לַחֲמִשִּׁ֥ים וּשְׁנַ֖יִם יֽוֹם׃ פ Nehemiah Neh 6:15 So the wall was completed on the twenty-fifth of the month Elul, in fifty-two days.(nasb) ======= Nehemiah 6:16 ============ Neh 6:16 And it came to pass, that when all our enemies heard thereof, and all the heathen that were about us saw these things, they were much cast down in their own eyes: for they perceived that this work was wrought of our God.(KJV) Nehemiah 6:16 And when all our enemies heard thereof, euen all the heathen that were about vs, they were afraid, & their courage failed them: for they knew, that this worke was wrought by our God.(Geneva) Néhémie 6:16 Lorsque tous nos ennemis l'apprirent, toutes les nations qui étaient autour de nous furent dans la crainte; elles éprouvèrent une grande humiliation, et reconnurent que l'oeuvre s'était accomplie par la volonté de notre Dieu.(FR) 16 ׃6 וַיְהִ֗י כַּאֲשֶׁ֤ר שָֽׁמְעוּ֙ כָּל־א֣וֹיְבֵ֔ינוּ וַיִּֽרְא֗וּ כָּל־הַגּוֹיִם֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר סְבִֽיבֹתֵ֔ינוּ וַיִּפְּל֥וּ מְאֹ֖ד בְּעֵינֵיהֶ֑ם וַיֵּ֣דְע֔וּ כִּ֚י מֵאֵ֣ת אֱלֹהֵ֔ינוּ נֶעֶשְׂתָ֖ה הַמְּלָאכָ֥ה הַזֹּֽאת׃ Nehemiah Neh 6:16 When all our enemies heard of it, and all the nations surrounding us saw it, they lost their confidence; for they recognized that this work had been accomplished with the help of our God.(nasb) ======= Nehemiah 6:17 ============ Neh 6:17 Moreover in those days the nobles of Judah sent many letters unto Tobiah, and the letters of Tobiah came unto them.(KJV) Nehemiah 6:17 And in these dayes were there many of the princes of Iudah, whose letters went vnto Tobiah, and those of Tobiah came vnto them.(Geneva) Néhémie 6:17 Dans ce temps-là, il y avait aussi des grands de Juda qui adressaient fréquemment des lettres à Tobija et qui en recevaient de lui.(FR) 17 ׃6 גַּ֣ם ׀ בַּיָּמִ֣ים הָהֵ֗ם מַרְבִּ֞ים חֹרֵ֤י יְהוּדָה֙ אִגְּרֹ֣תֵיהֶ֔ם הוֹלְכ֖וֹת עַל־טוֹבִיָּ֑ה וַאֲשֶׁ֥ר לְטוֹבִיָּ֖ה בָּא֥וֹת אֲלֵיהֶֽם׃ Nehemiah Neh 6:17 Also in those days many letters went from the nobles of Judah to Tobiah, and Tobiah's letters came to them.(nasb) ======= Nehemiah 6:18 ============ Neh 6:18 For there were many in Judah sworn unto him, because he was the son in law of Shechaniah the son of Arah; and his son Johanan had taken the daughter of Meshullam the son of Berechiah.(KJV) Nehemiah 6:18 For there were many in Iudah, that were sworne vnto him: for he was the sonne in lawe of Shechaniah, the sonne of Arah: and his sonne Iehonathan had the daughter of Meshullam, the sonne of Berechiah.(Geneva) Néhémie 6:18 Car plusieurs en Juda étaient liés à lui par serment, parce qu'il était gendre de Schecania, fils d'Arach, et que son fils Jochanan avait pris la fille de Meschullam, fils de Bérékia.(FR) 18 ׃6 כִּי־רַבִּ֣ים בִּֽיהוּדָ֗ה בַּעֲלֵ֤י שְׁבוּעָה֙ ל֔וֹ כִּי־חָתָ֥ן ה֖וּא לִשְׁכַנְיָ֣ה בֶן־אָרַ֑ח וִֽיהוֹחָנָ֣ן בְּנ֔וֹ לָקַ֕ח אֶת־בַּת־מְשֻׁלָּ֖ם בֶּ֥ן בֶּֽרֶכְיָֽה׃ Nehemiah Neh 6:18 For many in Judah were bound by oath to him because he was the son-in-law of Shecaniah the son of Arah, and his son Jehohanan had married the daughter of Meshullam the son of Berechiah.(nasb) ======= Nehemiah 6:19 ============ Neh 6:19 Also they reported his good deeds before me, and uttered my words to him. And Tobiah sent letters to put me in fear.(kjv) Nehemiah 6:19 Yea, they spake in his praise before me, & tolde him my wordes, and Tobiah sent letters to put me in feare.(Geneva) Néhémie 6:19 Ils disaient même du bien de lui en ma présence, et ils lui rapportaient mes paroles. Tobija envoyait des lettres pour m'effrayer.(FR) 19 ׃6 גַּ֣ם טוֹבֹתָ֗יו הָי֤וּ אֹמְרִים֙ לְפָנַ֔י וּדְבָרַ֕י הָי֥וּ מוֹצִיאִ֖ים ל֑וֹ אִגְּר֛וֹת שָׁלַ֥ח טוֹבִיָּ֖ה לְיָֽרְאֵֽנִי׃ Nehemiah Neh 6:19 Moreover, they were speaking about his good deeds in my presence and reported my words to him. Then Tobiah sent letters to frighten me. (nasb) ======= Nehemiah 7:1 ============ Neh 7:1 Now it came to pass, when the wall was built, and I had set up the doors, and the porters and the singers and the Levites were appointed,(KJV) Nehemiah 7:1 Nowe when the wall was builded, and I had set vp the doores, and the porters, and the singers and the Leuites were appointed,(Geneva) Néhémie 7:1 Lorsque la muraille fut rebâtie et que j'eus posé les battants des portes, on établit dans leurs fonctions les portiers, les chantres et les Lévites.(FR) |
